Thank you to Miss McAlister and her amazing team for the organisation of the Welcome BBQ last Wednesday. It was lovely to see so many parents and children at the school enjoying games, conversation and delicious food. The concrete slab was poured for our new multipurpose all weather court. We now have to wait until the end of the month before the line markings and court are completely finished. When it is finished it will be an awesome addition to our playground. Congratulations to Jayanna, Halle, Serena, BJ, Jakobi and Brad who represented Glenroi Heights PS at the ODPSSA Swimming Carnival last week. According to reports you all performed outstandingly and showed improvement in your personal times. Well done! On Friday at 2pm we will be having a colour run in the afternoon at school. A note will go home outlining the day and what is happening. Please ensure your child has a white t-shirt or something they can wear other than their school uniform. Have an amazing week. Chris Sutton Assistant Principal

Polo Shirts $10 Hoodies $20 Hats $10 As you may be aware we are looking to change the school uniform from green to black. We have found that black shorts and tracksuit pants and a lot easier to find than the green. Last year we sent out a survey to see how parents felt about this. We will be following this up over the next couple of week. Please note that changing the school uniform is a 2 year process and parents will not be expected to change the uniform straight away. We have attached the survey on our Facebook page for any parents that have not previously done it. HEALTH NOTIFICATION

We have been notified that a student at our school has Hand, Foot and Mouth disease if your child displays the following symptoms please seek medical advice. Hand, foot and mouth disease starts with blisters that begin as small red dots which later become ulcers. Blisters appear inside the cheeks, gums, and on the sides of the tongue, as well as on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. In infants, blisters can sometimes be seen in the nappy area. Blisters usually last for 7 to 10 days. Children can sometimes have a low fever, sore throat, tiredness, feel off colour and may be off their food for a day or two. SCHOOL PHOTOS

Dear Parents, School photographs are scheduled to be taken by Advancedlife. Whilst an envelope and flyer will be distributed shortly, if possible it is our preference that ordering be completed online to reduce administration and potential security issues related to the return of cash and envelopes on photo day. Orders for packages and sibling photographs can be placed securely online at www.advancedlife.com.au using our school’s unique 9 digit advanced order code. Portrait and group package orders are due by photography day. Should you wish to purchase a sibling photograph online, the order must be placed no later than the day before photography day. GHPS NEWS Colour Run

In support of Orange and District Relay For Life The time is here again for the Orange and District Relay for Life and we are excited to be getting involved in this fantastic community fundraising initiative. With the support of your family and friends, we aim to raise funds for the Cancer Council NSW by running our very own Colour Run on the school grounds. Date: Friday 6th March Time: 2:00 – 2:50pm Location: School grounds It will involve teachers, staff and children participating in a Colour Run to raise funds for Relay for Life, on the school oval on Friday afternoon, during sport. Your child will need a white shirt or a set of spare clothes to change into before the event, a gold coin donation and $3 if they would like to purchase a sausage sandwich. There will be family and individual registration forms at our Colour Run if you would like to join the Glenroi Heights Public School Relay for Life Team. Students with asthma are encouraged not to participate in the colour run, but to still donate (if they’d like) and join in our barbeque afterwards. There will be a fun activity for students who are unable to participate. With your support we will help people touched by cancer in our community and help Cancer Council NSW conduct world-class research, support services, education, advocacy and prevention programs. For more information on Relay for Life, visit www.relayforlife.org.au Kind regards, Miss Street & Mrs Selwood
