Conditions of Entry (1) All care of birds will be taken, but the club will not accept responsibility for any problems

occurring with birds or any mishaps whatsoever.

(2) Any protest must be lodged in writing with the Show Secretary during the show, but prior to 10am Sunday, July 15th, 2018 and must be accompanied by a $10.00 fee. This fee will be refunded if the dispute is upheld. Refer to Rule 134 of the NZ (NI) P,P & B Assn. Inc. Rules and Regulations.

(3) Cups and trophies marked ** on the schedule remain the property of the Club, these can be competed for on a yearly basis but cannot be won outright.

(4) All show fees must accompany your entries.

(5) The Exhibitors fee gives you and your family free access to the show and allows you to compete for all ribbons, trophies and prizes.

(6) Juniors cannot compete for open class specials but are eligible to win either Best Poultry or Best Pigeon in Show.

(7) When entering A.O.S.B. and A.O.S.C. classes please state breed or colour.

(8) Exhibitors will be issued with leg tags. These must be attached to all poultry and are optional for pigeons. These must be fastened with white string or white/clear nylon ties. Any other colour string or ties will not be acceptable and will result in your entry being disqualified.

(8) No breeder’s identification rings are permissible on any poultry.

(9) No birds are to be removed from their pens except by judges and Club officials.

(10) Only judges are permitted to use judging sticks.

(11) All Old English and Modern Game males, fowl and bantams that are not dubbed or show signs of having been recently dubbed will be removed from the show benches.

(12) No photos are to be taken of birds benched at a show prior to judging.

(13) Due to the Privacy Act, please indicate on your entry form if you do not wish for your name, address and telephone number to be printed in the catalogue.

(14) Any bird that shows sign of sickness or is heavily infested with lice will be removed from the show bench.

(15) Exhibitors will be responsible for the correct description of the specimen entered for competition. All birds entered in the wrong class shall be excluded from competition and entry fees forfeited.

(16) The judge will be instructed to withhold prizes from exhibits where they consider there is insufficient merit.

(17) All trophies to be returned to the secretary by July 1st.

(18) Pigeon entries are not eligible for Best Bird in Show (Poultry).

Venue: Café in the Expressions Art and Entertainment Centre (same building as the main show - entrance from Fergusson Drive) starting at 6.30pm, food served at 7.00pm.

Cost: $12 per head (Free for every judge and their spouse). Please indicate on the entry form the numbers attending. This will be a BYO function.

Format: Meal, speeches, presentations, at the conclusion of the presentations, the show hall will be opened to give everyone a chance to go over the birds.

Engraving of Club Trophies

All trophies won will be engraved on the Saturday evening of the show. This will make them available for collection by the winners on Sunday. The cost of engraving is a very modest $6.00 per trophy – this being a voluntary charge, however we would appreciate if you would like to contribute to the engraving charge. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bric-A-Brac Table

There will be a bric-a-brac table at the show, run by Club member Carolyn Atkinson – this has been a popular feature at past shows - a wide variety of items will be on sale. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Putting up and dismantling of the Show

To all club members a huge thank you for your commitment towards the show by giving very generously of both time and money. It will be more than appreciated if you could help with the putting up of the show on Thursday, July 12th from 9am and the dismantling of the show as soon as all exhibits have been removed (approximately 12.15pm, Sunday).

Sale Birds

¾ Please use the form enclosed with this schedule to order pens for your sale birds to help facilitate with the setting up of the show.

Birds entered in the show:

¾ All exhibited birds that have been sold during the show are not to be removed from their pen until debenching time (July 15th at noon), no exceptions.

¾ The club will advertise the sale price as indicated on the entry form of any exhibits in the show catalogue and will, after judging, also place a card on the pen of the birds that are for sale. (As with birds in the sale bird pens, a commission of 20% will be charged for each bird sold).

Sale Bird pens:

¾ The Club will charge a commission of 20% for each bird sold - the vendor will be paid within 14 days of the date of the show.

¾ Vendors who have not paid a show membership or are not Wellington, HV Club members will be charged a commission of 30% for each bird sold.

¾ All birds for sale are to be penned by 8.30pm, Friday, July 13th. Birds may also be penned from when the show is open to the public on Saturday, July 14th (12.30pm).

¾ No bird or birds to be sold before the opening of the show, no exceptions.

¾ Please see the appointed Sale Bird Stewards (Simon O’Sullivan, Bruce Forster) when requesting sale pens. Only these stewards may remove birds from pens.

¾ There is to be no over-crowding of birds in cages.

¾ Birds for sale must be in good health – any birds that are sick or have body parasites will be removed from their pen by a steward.

¾ Could vendors please keep the number of male birds for sale to a minimum.

¾ It is preferable that pure bred birds be offered for sale.

¾ Vendors are responsible for the uplifting of any unsold birds at the end of the show Sunday, July 15th (Noon).
