SUNDAY HOSPITALITY IS BACK!

Ellie Dann and Betsy Woodard have graciously agreed to chair the Hospitality Committee.

Volunteers are needed to serve coffee and doughnuts (Krispy Kreme is the preferred

favorite of Fr. Craig!) after each Sunday Mass. We are looking for Parishioners to bring

about 4 dozen doughnuts and then stay and serve after 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Mass.

CCD is in full swing and we want the kiddos to have something to munch on while they are

at Church learning! Please contact Ellie at 562-0020 or Betsy at 562-0439 to get on the

calendar to help. We need volunteers for November and December at this time!

THE SISTERHOOD HAS A FACEBOOK PAGE!

We would like to build our audience on the Sisterhood Facebook page. Please check out

our page or request us as a friend so that we might be able to reach a wider audience.

GAS HOG!

Congratulations to: Linda Ongley, our 2012 Gas Hog Winner!

OPEN DOOR WOMEN’S CLINIC

The Open Door Women’s Clinic is always in need of diapers, baby clothes,

and/or money. In years passed, St. Louis has assisted the clinic by way of baby

bottles. Please take home one of the bottles this weekend and drop your spare

change in it for a couple of weeks. You’d be surprised how the money may

“change” a life. Filled bottles may be placed in the container in the rear of

church after all Masses. For information please contact Patti Cook at 562-0816.

PRAYER LIST MAKEOVER

We will be completing an overhaul of the current prayer list and need your

help! The November list will start anew and we ask that you contact Neida at

the office (562-5140) to let her know if you would like to place someone on

the list. The list will be published monthly (first weekend). Names will rotate

off for the next month, unless you contact Neida and ask for the name to

remain. She will also try to give you a “reminder” call before the next list is published. We

want our prayer list to be current and up to date and need everyone’s help to accomplish

this.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS EYEGLASS DRIVE

Please give others the gift of sight. During the month of November the knights will be

collecting used eyeglasses to give to those who need them but can’t afford them locally. The

collection container will be in the back of the church throughout the month. Thank you in

advance for your support!

ELVIS WADE CONCERT: Please support the annual fundraiser of Good News

Outreach by purchasing $25 tickets to the Wade Elvis Concert at the Moon on Nov.3rd at

7:30 p.m. This internationally known Christian artist has performed with the Elvis’

Jordanaires throughout the world and presents an excellent night of entertainment to support

the cause of our community’s poor. Tickets can be obtained at the Good News Office at 242

Lafayette Circle, or at www.goodnewsoutreach.org. or contact Brenda Popp at 294-2924 for

THE ELIMINATE PROJECT

The Eliminate Project is a global campaign created by Kiwanis and Unicef to rid easily curable diseases

off the face of the earth. Kiwanis is an international service club for adults; Key Club is the same, but for

high school students. Unicef has been the leading international children organization for more than sixty

years. These organizations are going together to stop MNT, maternal and neonatal tetanus. The causes of

this disease are mainly due to preterm birth, severe infections, and asphyxia. MNT occurs in over thirty

countries, killing about 59,000 new born and mothers each year, which equates to one death every nine

minutes. The cure, three tetanus shots, only cost $1.80 will protect the mother and any of her future

babies and the goal is to raise 110 million dollars from 2010 to 2015 and remove MNT. This will help,

save, and protect 61 million mothers. Godby’s Key Club is raising money for the Eliminate Project and I

ask if you can donate some loose change. I will be outside in the front of the church, after mass. Thank

you.–Carolyn Nguyen.

JPII CATHOLIC FOOTBALL

The Panthers invite the entire Catholic community to come out and be a part of their

final game of the season this Friday, November 2nd @ 7:30 pm. The game will be

against Maclay and could determine who will go to the Bowl Game! A Tailgate

celebration begins @ 5:30 pm and our traditional 5th quarter celebration follows the

game on our Southwood campus. We hope to see you there!

40 DAYS FOR LIFE

40 Days For Life is now in the final week. Have you signed up to come pray?

When we go and peacefully pray near local abortion facilities, lives are spared. God

w o r k s t h r o u g h u s .

In Raleigh, N.C. a man walked up to the prayer volunteers and said, "Because of

you praying here when my daughter came today, she decided to have my

g r a n d c h i l d . T h a n k y o u . "

Be God's voice for the voiceless, our youngest and smallest brothers and sisters in the womb.

Neumann Center Book Club

The Neumann Center Book Club will discuss "Faithful Dissenters / Stories of Men and Women Who

Loved and Changed the Church" by Robert McClory in November. This book tells the stories of people

who took risky stands and sometimes paid heavily. People like Catherine of Siena, Thomas Aquinas,

Hildegard of Bingen, Matteo Ricci, John Henry Newman, Yves Congar. As one reviewer noted: "This

book offers yet another reminder that in so many instances yesterday's dissenters have become today's

models of fiedelity and even saints." Please note that we will meet only once in November, on the fourth

Monday (Nov. 26), at 7:30. New and occasional participants are always very welcome. Questions? Call

J a c k i e H a l l i f a x , 8 7 8 - 5 8 2 6 .

BURSE CLUB

When using the Burse Club envelopes, please use cash or make your checks payable either to St. Louis Church
