Pack 774 will be celebrating Scouting Anniversary

Week in February with a “birthday party” called the Blue &

Gold Banquet. The blue and gold banquet is the highlight

of the year. It brings families together for an afternoon of

fun and cheer.

We are also looking for volunteer help as

we put together this anniversary event so that everyone

can have a great time. So, please bring your skills and

talent - contact your den leader and let him/her know how

you’re interested to help.

Each den will also be assigned a responsibility to

help as greeters, setup and cleanup. Dens will also be

performing their skits during entertainment.

For all the hard work of each and every scout, we

will also be recognizing the scouts for their achievements.

Awards, trophies and prizes will be awarded to the scouts

who’ve attained top honors in our Popcorn Sale and Pine-

wood Derby.

We will also be holding a

raffle during the banquet. Each

family will donate an item (valued at

$10) to be entered as a raffle prize.

Do not wrap the raffle items.

We look forward to seeing

everyone at this fun filled event.

More details to the Blue & Gold

Banquet will follow.

For more information on the Blue & Gold Banquet, please

call Jackie Milledge at 573-2080 or email [email protected].

Mark your calendar for the 18th Annual Eskimo

Run. The Eskimo Run is a fun activity for all Cub Scouts

sponsored by White Buffalo District. This one day Winter

Olympics provides a chance to be active in the outdoors

during the winter, competing at several activities and

games.

Scouts from each pack should form dens of 4 or

5 boys to participate (different ages/ranks can join in one

den for the day). Activities planned include: Sled Race,

Ski Race, Snow Shoe Race, Snowball Throw, Penguin

Bowling, Snow Snakes, and many more!

Hot Off The Committee Table

Committee Chair, Albert Hubl

has accepted a position as Scout Master

of Troop 898 in Clearwater and will be

stepping down at the end of the school

year. We wish Albert the best in his new

venture and thank him for all that he’s

done for Pack 774.

Therefore, the Pack is currently

looking for a new Committee Chair to fill the soon to be

vacant seat. The sooner a replacement can be found, the

better off the Pack will be. The Committee asks everyone

to consider filling a position on the committee to help the

Pack GO!

NEWS!

First of all, I would like to thank

everyone for attending the Pinewood

Derby on January 9th. The attendance

was excellent and the scouts seemed to

have a great time. The creativity shown

by the scouts in their car designs is one

of the the most enjoyable parts of the

derby.

We implemented a new plan for

managing the derby this year, and we

appreciate everyone’s patience while we

worked through a few snags. We want to

make the derby even more enjoyable for

everyone next year, so if you have any

feedback on what went well, or not so

well, please let me or anyone else on the

pack leadership team know. We’ll roll your

suggestions into the plan for next year.

Our next Pack activity is the an-

nual Blue and Gold Banquet on February

20th. This is our Pack’s formal dinner and

awards ceremony where our Scouts should

be receiving their rank advancement. More

details on this event will be provided in the

future.

Finally, the time has come for

summer camp signups. Most camps are

organized around specific dens, such as

Big Bear for our Wolf Cubs who will be

Bears next year. Please work with your

den leaders if you are interested in attend-

ing summer camp so we can attend each

camp as a group if possible. Most

camps are offered more than once during

the summer but the weekend dates usu-

ally fill up fast. If you want to attend a

camp but cannot attend with the rest of

your den, please let me or your den

leader know and we’ll get you registered

separately. The camp staff will assign

you to a campsite with another Pack

which is a great opportunity to make new

friends.

Cris Schroeder Cubmaster, Pack 774

The Bears are getting closer to

accomplishing their rank! We’ve had a few

challenges due to severe weather but we’re

optimistic and the boys should be done on-

time for the Blue and Gold Banquet.

We’re determined to complete our

Nature Walk to achieve the Hiking Belt

Loop, and our Cooking achievement has

been rescheduled due to weather.

We are also considering a den

night out for a hockey game - parents per-

mitting.

On a housekeeping topic - Par-

ents, please send me an updated list of

your boy’s achievements by Jan. 28th so

that advancements (Bear Badge) can be

awarded at the Blue and Gold Banquet.

Chad Pawloski Den Leader

The Wolves had 100% participation

at the Christmas Party and at the Pinewood

Derby! We are very proud of them! Three of

the top four finishers at the Derby were Wolves!

The fastest car in the entire Pack was Drey-

ton’s! GO WOLVES!!

In December, the Wolves made

Christmas Cards that were delivered to resi-

dents at an Assisted Living Facility to provide

some Christmas cheer! We are quickly closing

in on the Blue and Gold Banquet which means

we are working hard to achieve the Wolf Ad-

vancements! The boys are working on their

achievements that have to be done at home

with their families.

We are planning two outings in the

next month. We will be going with a parent to

Home Depot to build a small shelf in February.

We will also be going to a local historical or

government site to see and learn about it. We

are looking forward to the weather warming up

so we can have our den meetings outside

again.

Crystal Iseman Den Leader

Den Lookout

The Tiger Cubs had their first

ever Pinewood Derby this month. The

cars looked really awesome and the rac-

ing was great! What a big day.

The Tigers will be working on a

few activities to further their advancement

to Tiger rank which will be celebrated at

the Blue and Gold Banquet.

They will be going on a Go See

It! - to show their support and cheer on

their school girls and boys basketball

teams. What fun and excitement to show

our school spirit!

Another achievement they will be

working on is scrapbooking. It will be

great to see the creativity shown by each

Tiger/parent team. Our next big event will

be the Blue and Gold Banquet - the birth-

day of Scouting!

Pack 774 welcomes any 1st through 5th grade boy to join in the fun. Boys can join at any time during the year. We also welcome parents to help out or to become more in-volved as adult volunteers.

The Pack meets at St Peter Old School Gym, at 6:30pm on the first Wednesday of each month. The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. The dens provide age appropriate activities that recognize the different skill and ability levels of Cub Scout age boys.
