The N.I. Dorset Club have been actively promoting the Dorset Breed for well over 50 years and encouraging the Dorset breeders to produce a modern, commercially focused, saleable type sheep.

In recent times this dedication to quality has seen the trend in the commercial sheep sector move towards the Dorset breed as commercial farmers investigate the true merits of the Dorset breed as they search for profitable prime lamb production to suit their specific needs.

GENERAL INFORMATION & SALE NOTES

HORN

Location:31st Annual Autumn Sale will be held in J.A. McClelland & Sons, Livestock Mart, Unit 1, Woodside Park, Woodside Rd, Broughshane, Ballymena BT42 4HX, accessed from Junction 11 of M2 Ballymena bypass.

Arrival:Sheep to arrive on Monday 5th October at 3pm and are subject to a veterinary inspection before penning in the calf pen area.

Method of Sale:All sheep will be sold in guineas and in catalogue order commencing at 6.30pm.

Conditions of Sale:The event is held subject to J.A. McClelland & Sons Sale Conditions detailed at the back of this catalogue. A full list is available on request.

Settlement & Clearance of Stock:Settlement in full is due to the auctioneers immediately at the close of the sale. Cheque facilities are only for approved customers, otherwise payment must be made by debit, credit card or cash. No animals will be permitted to leave the sale premises without an official pass out.

Upset Price:There will be an upset price of 250gns on all ram lambs and shearling rams. All sheep will be sold through the sale ring and be sold in guineas.

CONDITIONS OF SALE1. The highest bidder to be the buyer, and if any dispute arise between the bidders the decision of the

Auctioneers shall be final, or at his discretion the lot in dispute shall immediately be put up again and re-sold. The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse the bid of any person, and regulates the bidding, and no bidding to be retracted.

2. The purchasers to give their names and places of abode in writing, and pay the full purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, (if required), in default of which the lot or lots so Purchased may immediately be put up again and re-sold.

3. No lot or lots shall be removed from the premises till paid for, but each and every lot shall, immediately at the fall of the hammer, be considered as delivered and be and remain in every respect the absolute risk of the respective purchaser or purchasers thereof, and shall be removed from the place of the Sale at the purchaser’s expense.

4. All descriptions constitute a warranty, to terminate at 10pm on day of Sale.5. If any purchaser shall fail to comply with the above conditions, or any part of them, the Auctioneer shall

be at liberty to either recover in full the amount of lot or lots bought by such purchaser, without reference to any delivery or acceptance of the lot or lots other than the first delivery by the fall of the hammer, or to re-sell any lot or lots bought by the purchasers, either by public or private sale, and the full amount of the purchase money at the present sale, or the deficiency (if any) arising from such second sale shall be made good by the defaulter at the present sale, and to be recoverable as and for liquidated damages

6. No money will be paid to the proprietor of any lot sold, unless the lot be cleared by the purchaser, and the Auctioneers will not be answerable for any deficiency that may arise on the resale of any un-cleared property.

7. Exhibitor and Purchasers are to understand that, although every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure safety and welfare of the animals exhibited, the Auctioneers will not be responsible for loss, or accidents of any kind, that may occur. Nor will the Auctioneers be accountable for any accident that may occur to any person attending the Sale, whether as a visitor, exhibitor, or in any other capacity.

8. The pedigree, history and description of each animal is guaranteed by the owner, and no liability whatsoever is undertaken by the Auctioneer or the Club for the statements in the catalogue or announcements made at the time of sale, the exhibitors who supply such statements are alone responsible.

9. No undertaking of the Auctioneers or their servants to take charge of the lot or animals after the Sale, or to forward them to their destination, shall be held to impose upon the Auctioneers any legal obligation or vitiate any of the foregoing conditions.

10. All unsold lots are at the risk of the owners immediately they pass out of the Sale Ring.11. Exhibitors must provide competent persons to take charge of their stock up to the close of the Sale.12. Should any question arise not provided for in the foregoing conditions, the decision of the Auctioneers

shall be final, from which there shall be no appeal.13. The Association reserves the right to object to any Entry or to remove any sheep from the Show without

incurring liability for compensation.14. Non-Club Members - Not allowed to Show.15. All entries to be number marked by the exhibitor by means of back stamp, with their lot number,
