Magneti Marelli has designed a technology for repairing third phase injectors The system

is a necessary piece of equipment in injector reconditioning workshops. Due to the

system application, it is possible to set such parameters as:

- ball travel

- air gap

- control chamber volume

- spring tension

The system makes use of the gauging record database for electromagnetic injectors as

compiled by the Bosch company for both passenger cars ("110's") and motor trucks

("120's"i). Technology for DENSO injectors is to be worked out in the nearest future.

The system allows for making repairs and adjustments of Bosch injectors of the CRI 2.1

generation where a completely different solution has been applied. Additionally, a

pneumatic press is used for removing and replacing a sleeve from the injector coil.

The equipment is supported by a touch screen computer that enables a micrometric

control of calibration volume with accuracy of up to 0.001 mm. All measurements made

with sensors during the repair procedure are sent automatically to the computer which,

upon analysis of the measurements made, adjusts the thickness of adjusting elements

(shims).

Only through conducting the above procedure, a proper functioning of the injector can

be ensured.
