Fibonacci Analysis Shows Key TargetsBy Mark Braun (written 3/20/11)

Let’s have a look at where the current leg of this Euro rally started:

Price started to pull back after the high on February 2nd, point A on the chart above. The daily hold at the

38.2 % retracement and 34 period exponential moving average indicated that there was still a great deal of

upside interest in this currency pair, point B on the chart.

HEADING NEXT?


Zooming in to that specific range of time:

shows that price then failed at the 61.8 % retracement of point A to point B. When price fails from 61.8 to

78.6 of a prior high to low move at the extreme of a major swing, it alerts us to be prepared for a possible

Gartley support pattern. At that point we attempt to project point D as the true support in this zigzag

corrective move.

Fibonacci extensions are drawn from point B to C on the chart to project the potential downside targets of

this swing. The focus is on the zone from 127.2 to 161.8 % of the B to C move. An additional 100 %

expansion of point A to point B projected from point C helps to reinforce the support zone. A standard A-B-

C-D correction forms when these support extensions are in “mid air” without additional support retracements

to reinforce the area. In this case though, the potential support zone landed between 38.2 and 50 % of the

previous major low to high swing, and this makes it a Gartley support zone with a much higher probability

of holding.

While shorter term triggers may have been taken on this long, the daily trigger is shown with a green ellipse

in the CCI subchart in the image above. The daily 50 CCI (red line) was above zero, and the 20 CCI


crossed back above zero at the green ellipse, after touching the -100 line. This combination, the 5020 longtrigger, tells us that the pullback has been sufficient to build additional upside momentum and break resistancefactors.

The initial target from this corrective move was 1.3979, the 127.2 % extension from point A to point D of theGartley pattern. On the chart below you can see that this almost precisely overlapped the next major 78.6%retracement from the November 4th 2010 high to the January 10th 2011 low. Since the target overlappedadditional major resistance, it became an important spot for at least a “debate” as to whether or not themarket had more upside potential:

You can see that price held and pulled back from that point, albeit temporarily. Additional support held atthat pullback and we saw continued CCI long side triggers.

This is where things get interesting! That 78.6 % resistance was key since a close above it implies that thisswing will follow through to the target at 1.4666. That’s our current target and we’ll monitor support onpullbacks and look for additional CCI long side triggers as support levels are tested. An updated chart isshown on the next page, with the current support levels in place (strongest nearby levels are labeled forclarity).


The support shown is valid until there’s a new swing high. Fibonacci/Galactic Trader™ can update thesupport for you automatically when new swing highs are made as long as your version of the program is setcorrectly and the proper swings are identified initially.

What do we have to look out for along the way? A test of the larger target from the prior swing, coming in at1.4345 is the most likely spot for the next temporary hold, but the 78.6 % retracement resistance in the1.4440 area is a very strong factor on the weekly chart too (see next page).

A break of that level would confirm that much longer term consolidation is breaking to the upside, and itwould also call even stronger and more distant upside targets into play, starting at 1.6032 on the followingchart.

While I think we can reach the initial target at 1.4666, the balance of the swing isn’t free and clear. In a caselike this it’s always possible that higher timeframe resistance, in this case from the weekly timeframe, will getin the way of follow through. The Fibonacci work tells us exactly where this would take place which is one ofthe strengths of using this form of analysis. A valid strategy for managing this long would be to partially scaleout at each of the major target and resistance areas. If the support is kept updated at each new swing high,you can place a stop on the balance of the trade below the closest strong support. Should the support holdwith additional long side triggers, just add back in!

My bullish outlook for silver in 2010, that I wroteabout in Hi Ho Silver, Part II, came to pass with silverdoubling in price and outperforming other preciousmetals including gold. This forecast was primarily basedon the transit of Jupiter in Pisces forming series ofconjunctions to the Sun, Venus, and Mars in Pisces inthe 1st trade chart for CBOT silver for March 16, 1981,at 08:05AM, Chicago, IL. (See 1st trade chart).

I wrote on September 9th, 2010, that asretrograde Jupiter re-entered the sign of Pisces, it wouldbe most bullish and that the break out point to buy waswhen silver took out previous planetary resistance at20 - 21.50. That occurred right on time on this date whensilver broke out of its trading range and broke throughthe 21.50 level. Silver has continued to trend higher sincethen and reached $38 so far in the month of March,2011!

In 2011, CBOT silver will continue to have bullishtransits from Jupiter to its secondary chart where thenatal Sun, Venus, Mars conjunction has progressed intothe sign of Aries. However, silver is likely to make atleast a minor pullback as of this writing on March 27th.

On March 28th, the planets Jupiter and Saturn

complete an opposition as retrograde Saturn begins toform a stressful sesqui-square (135 degree) aspect toMercury in silver’s 1st trade chart. This astrologicalturning point and transit is likely to bring another pullbackor consolidation into the month of April. Pullbacks shouldbe viewed as buying opportunities and can be short livedin this strong up trend and bull market. The stressfulSaturn transit will peak around April 11th when

retrograde Mercury forms a conjunction to Jupiter, Marssquares Pluto, and silver has a Venus return in its 1sttrade chart. The may be a buying opportunity if silverdeclines into this key date and there is more confirmationtechnically.

On a technical basis, the trend is up in all timeframes, monthly, weekly, and daily. Even if silver makesanother pullback and the trend turns down again in thedaily chart, the uptrend remains strong in the monthlyand weekly charts. The key planetary and technicalsupport level that needs to continue to hold for theuptrend to continue is at the pivot low made at 26.30 atthe Pluto planetary price line on one of my previousastrological turn dates on January 25th. The timing couldnot have been better to buy that pullback. I expect that

low to continue to hold this year. Should price comeback to the 28 - 26 price zone where the Saturn andPluto planetary lines are at a key astrological turningpoint, I would recommend buying with a stop under 26.However, if the strength continues it may not come backthat far again. (See weekly planetary price chart).

How far can silver run in 2011? The next

strongest upside targets I have are at approximately $9price increments based on the outer planet cycle ofSaturn square Pluto and longer term, Uranus squarePluto. These upside resistance levels would be atapproximately, 44 - 46, 53 - 55, 62 - 64, and 71 - 73. Itis very possible silver could double again this year asthe gold to silver ratio still remains historically out ofbalance.

Historically, the gold to silver ratio has beenabout 16 to 1. This means that one ounce of gold wouldbuy 16 ounces of silver. Based on gold’s current priceof 1440 and silver’s price at 38, this ratio is just under40! It was over 60 to 1 just last year, so this margin innarrowing. As an example, if gold makes it to $2000and the gold/silver ratio comes down to around 16 to 1again, we would be seeing silver at around $125 anounce or higher in the near future.

A series of conjunctions from Jupiter to silver’sAries planets in its secondary chart will begin againaround April 20th after Venus enters Aries and formsanother conjunction to Uranus on April 22nd. This is likelyto be bullish for silver as Jupiter transits the last decan,

20 - 30 degrees of Aries this year. Watch this date aswell as April 11th. The next key date to watch closely iswhen Jupiter leaves the sign of Aries and enters Tauruson June 4th. This should be a strong turning point orreversal period for silver once again. If silver continuesto run higher, it’s not a bad idea to ring the cash registeraround this date. In any case, depending on the existing

trend, this is another important key date to watch foranother change in trend or turning point, one way oranother.

Of all the commodities, silver is likely to continueto be one of the best performers in 2011. We arewitnessing one of the strongest bull markets in silveragain since the Hunt brothers cornered the market inthe late 1970’s. Except this time around, we are facinga rapidly declining dollar, potential hyper-inflation in thenear future, increasing demand for the metal in the globaleconomies, and despite what the mainstream media isreporting, an insolvent government that has no otherway to keep the economy afloat other than print moredollars. Hello everyone:

This morning and after a long and difficult FullMoon weekend for many people, I feel compelledto write this information, and newsletter -- I hopeit holds true for many of you.

Granted, these last few days have seen the FullMoon 'from hell' for many. If we just take a lookat what is going on in the world, anyone can seethat. This was the 90-day period (if you see ourcalendar, it will show fireworks) after the TotalEclipse on December 20, 2010 on the GalacticCenter. Keywords: Intense, fast, revolutionarychanges.

With that said, there is panic in the air. It iseverywhere--on the radio, the television, and inour conversations with friends and evenstrangers. There is no doubt that the world ischanging right before our eyes and panic isspreading like a plague. However, it is importantto remember the following:

Hasn't anyone ever heard of the power of themind or the power of the word?

If we keep creating anxiety and panic in ourmoment to moment existence, we can actuallycreate more problems.

I think we are way overdue for a world meditation.They used to do that a few years back two daysbefore Christmas at the same time throughoutthe world-I always woke up at 3 am andparticipated in it.

The result? They found that the crime dropped20% within a week, fewer accidents occurred,and far more life improvements than I can recall.

Of course, we cannot be "Pollyanna" about therealities facing us today. Things happen -- andsometimes really terrible things.

I think that this is about all of us getting awayfrom the extraneous parts of our lives and backto our spiritual centers-and I don't mean going tochurch.

I mean going inside of our very human selvesand staying centered for just one moment withoutanyone around. If you have to get in your car todo that for a few minutes, then do it. We becometotally ineffective if we are panicking and anxietyridden - it infects those around us and they pickit up and they get that way. Then like dominoeseverything around us starts coming down.

Lighting candles, taking a moment to breathe, tothink positive thoughts, to even write down in yournotes, or notebooks, or calendars what you aregrateful for, rather than what else can go wrongor how we lost or how this bad thing happenedor whatever-- that is what balances out theanxiety-- prayer helps a lot, too.

Forgive me for adding my two cents, but I am outwith the public a lot, and, the dialogue has beennothing but negative and fearful wherever I go.

Fear freezes us up (that's what happened after9/11... they made us fearful.... we stopped beingproductive and we stopped believing that therewas still possibility in the world and it hasn'tstopped).

Fear is the enemy of any type of possibility and itprevents any light from coming in.

share of bad things happening to us - some verytragic things, in fact.

Frankly, there is nothing we can do about it. Wecan be prepared or as resourceful as we knowhow to be, but, in the end, it's a crap shoot. Lifeis not for sissies.

These terrible tragedies that are all over the news,in the world, in our own families are all so horrible.But that is what happens if you happen to be ahuman being.

Figure this -- people only live an average of 80 to90 years. These fires, earthquakes, tidal waveshave happened often throughout history. Ashuman beings we don't live long enough toalways witness them.But... other generations have.

When they happen during our lifetimes, we wailin horror and don't have a perspective that this iswhat happens on a planet. It just does. Therewas a great book written years ago by WilliamMcNeill entitled Plagues and Peoples. His thesiswas that the economies of the world did NOTchange because of the long believed wars orpolitics, but, in fact, because of massive plagues,disease, disasters on the planet. These changedthe demographic of the populations, thus cross-pollinating new places and areas of the world.

We are seeing his book come to life right now inthis terrible tragedy in Japan (where we all havegood friends and some of us have familymembers). We are seeing the massive changein the Middle East coming as the result of overhalf the population of all Arab countries beingunder 30 years of age! Yes, that fact was givenin a recent magazine article.

Bottom line: Whenever there is a huge changeabout to take place in the world, there are firstextremes, just like any revolution.

Revolution begins with extremes that requiregreat courage. And speaking about courage--howcourageous are those men that are in and out ofthe Japanese Nuclear plant trying to save theircountry? What about their beliefs? Are theyscared, yes? But they are still moving forward.

Out of terrible tragedies, come marvelous andbetter solutions. We become human beingshelping each other more. I think it is 'whomeverruns the show's' way of saying, 'You guys forgotabout helping each other... so take this... whatwill you do about this or that now? When will youget it?"

Forgive me, because I don't know a lot of you onthis list, but I do know that you subscribe to mylist and, therefore, want to receive the latest inAstro-news. 90-days after eclipses are oftenwake-up calls -- some more than others,particularly when we are dealing with the endsand beginnings of cycles all piling up.

As astro-traders, we are always on the lookout fornew tools and insights that can sharpen ourunderstanding of the planetary dynamics that movethe markets. With more uncertainty in the markets,it’s always useful to broaden our perspective so thatwe can gain fresh insights from longer-term cyclesand from the cumulative impact of minor phenomenathat might otherwise be overlooked.

When we combine this kind of investigation withrigorous back-testing for the markets we are trading,we sometimes discover surprisingly potent planetarycorrelations with market trend reversals oraccelerations. In fact, some of the most high-valueastro-trading dynamics are often hidden in the ranksof phenomena that typically escape notice becausethey are considered insignificant by most financialastrologers.

While they are not the most important factors inmoving the markets, some of the minor bodies inastrology should be taken into account by astro-traders who seek a more comprehensive view ofmarket activities. These factors can provide keyinsights when they are considered in charts for stockand commodity exchanges, in first-trade andincorporation charts, and in the natal horoscopes ofindividual traders. As transiting planets they are mostactive when they are stationary and when they formaspects with other planets outside the orbit of Mars.

In this listing of the most important minor bodyalignments during 2011, we have included the cometChiron; the asteroids Ceres, Vesta, Juno, and Pallas;the as yet unobserved planet Transpluto as calculatedby M. Émile Sevin; and the eight transneptunianfactors (Cupido, Hades, Zeus, Kronos, Apollon,Admetos, Vulcanus, Poseidon) as postulated by theGerman astrologer Alfred Witte and his students.

In working with these phenomena in the tradingenvironment, it’s especially useful to plot their

The old man’s advice wasn't given lightly.

As a veteran trader, he had decades of

experience under his belt.

He was doing his best to counsel a young

man who had decided to become a trader

too.

“When you first start out,” the mentor

said, “you’ll learn a lot about the

companies behind the stocks. You’ll read

balance sheets and earnings statements,

and look for undervalued equities. But as

you begin to trade, you will discover that

the fundamental approach has a lot of

limitations.

“Then you'll start to explore technical

analysis. You’ll try different kinds of

oscillators, stochastics, and moving

averages, and in every case, you'll

eventually discover that they don't give

you the trading edge you need.

“If you stick with trading after that, you’ll

probably get to the point where you take

a look at cycles analysis and Elliott Wave

theory, and you'll start to see patterns in

price charts that you hadn't noticed before.

But after a while, you will understand that

those wave counts are pretty subjective,

and you won't trust them so much as

indicators for your trading, either.

“If you’re lucky, and if you don’t lose your

trading capital, you’ll hang around long

enough to encounter Fibonacci ratios, and

if you work with them persistently you

will be amazed at how well they connect

with key market movements. There is a

lot of value in those Fibonacci numbers,

and if you learn to use them they will add

a lot of positive potential to your trading.

“And maybe then you will stumble upon

the most valuable trading tool of all, the

one that not many traders are even willing

to talk about. That’s financial astrology. You

may hear it being ridiculed, but you should

definitely take it seriously.

“Actually, most of the biggest banks around

the world have astrologers they

confidentially consult with about trading

opportunities and market trends. But of

course those banks never publicize that fact.

“When you use astrology in your trading,

you’ll start to understand the way the

markets really work. And then you won’t

need to get any more advice from old fools

like me.”

I Was Excited To Hear It

I can’t personally vouch for that story. I

wasn’t on the scene when the original

conversation took place.

But That’s the way it was told to me, and I

have to admit I was really pleased when I

heard it.
