MESSAGE
FROM
STOWELINK
EXECUTIVE
Non-communicable diseases is gradually becoming a major problem in
developing countries, statistically it’s the leading killer disease in the
world and in Kenya the second leading killer disease. With rising change
in urbanization and gradual lifestyle changes especially among the youth
and the upcoming generation we are likely to see a spike in non-
communicable diseases thus losing more and more productive lives. The
older generations too have a problem. They are not informed in as far as
non-communicable diseases are involved and they find it hard to live
with or prevent non communicable diseases. This is the problem that
Stowelink saw, a very big information gap on non-communicable
diseases and a misinformed youth in as far as non-communicable
diseases are involve which then led us thinking…
HOW MIGHT WE MAKE INFORMATION ON NON-COMMUNICABLE
DISEASES RELEVANT???
HOW MIGHT WE MAKE THE YOUTH INTERESTED IN HEALTH???
After a long research we found the solution to the problem, and the
solution is STOWELINK.
Stowelink is a youth led organization that provides health and well-
being while also spearheading youth involvement in health and
entrepreneurship.
We are registered with the government and have in the past two years
actively engaged our self in solving this big problem on non-
communicable diseases which we are so passionate about. We strongly
believe that we can change the world and that we can prevent the
problem on non-communicable diseases before it becomes a big
problem in the developing countries.
The Stowelink team is a young vibrant team composing mostly of
university students passionate about the vision of the organization and
are working tirelessly to ensure that we achieve a community fully
empowered and informed on non-communicable diseases and that we
have a generation of youths who can become job creators in the society.
Our belief is enshrined in the motto
TRANSFORMING AND EMPOWERING LIVES.
