Consecration of Our Nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Almighty God, King of Glory, Jesus Christ, You love

the human race with all Your heart; and, in Your all-wise

Providence, manifest continuous care for each nation. Look

mercifully upon our nation, which, with sincere confidence,

has recourse to You, their All-good Father and All-wise

King.

We, the children of this nation, fulfilling Your holy will,

love all nations which You have redeemed with Your

Precious Blood on the Cross, but especially do we love our

nation; therefore, out of love for her, or rather out of love

for You, our God, we beseech You: Forgive all her

transgressions; correct her evil ways; and strengthen her

good ways; have pity on her in her needs; protect her

against the injustices of the enemy; and generously pour

forth upon her the blessings of Your Most Sacred Heart.

We also implore, for her, Your special protection and

assistance; so that, amid the many trials and temptations

of the devil and his agents, our nation may preserve the

divine light of faith and overcome, with perseverance in

good, every difficulty. Thus may she always belong to Your

heavenly kingdom.

Bless her with great and holy servants; so that, by their

word and example, they may serve her as holy and wise

leaders. Give her numerous good and zealous clergy.

Protect her youth; grant that they may never lose

the grace of baptism, that they may receive a good Christian

education, that they may have no difficulty finding

honorable work and a fitting wage, and that they may

mature into worthy sons and daughters of the Church and

nation.

Bless all the families. Protect them from sins which

destroy the very foundation of the Christian family and lead

to the destruction of the whole nation. May harmony and

love reign within them. May fathers be exemplary and

zealous Christians, and may mother be pious and diligent in

bringing up their children. Inspire us to live a more perfect

life; call those who have a vocation to the monastic life and

to apostolic work; inspire them to heroic sacrifices for the

glory of the Church and nation. Enlighten all her citizens;

inspire them to know and profess the holy Catholic faith

and to consider themselves happy to stand firmly by it, even

if it means suffering martyrdom. May they live according to

the teachings of holy faith.

Bless, also, the temporal welfare of our nation. Grant

that she may freely develop the natural talents which You

have bestowed upon her. Give her true knowledge, and

bless her work in every department of human activity.

Deliver the unemployed from their sad plight. Bless

everyone and everything; so that our nation may, in peace

and contentment, serve You in a manner worthy of You and

obtain, through Your grace, eternal glory.

Може згаснути при раптовому пориві вітру. Тоді не обійтись без когось, хто її знову запалить, підніме і допоможе дійти до щирого покаяння, не обійтись без Духівника, не обійтись без Спільноти, не обійтись без Церкви.

І тоді свічка знову розгоряється, горить і не думає, на скільки часу лишилось палати…

Все в Твоїх руках, Господи: і вітри покірні тобі, і кожна свічка горить рівно стільки, скільки Ти допускаєш.

Я — Твоя свічка, маленька і непримітна. Використай її, Господи, на свою славу — допоможи мені палати яскраво, не рахуючи ні роки,… ні години,… ні секунди… Горіти не мляво і довго, а яскраво і рівно стільки, скільки Тобі треба і на Твою славу, Татусю! Алілуйя! Амінь!
