Creating an Equitable Experience We believe every girl should have the opportunity to be a Girl Scout, regardless of her family’s circumstances. Part of her foundational Girl Scout experience is to attend events and activities outside of her troop meetings to connect with the wider sisterhood of Girl Scouts.

Here at Girl Scout of Colorado, we offer financial aid for memberships as well as events. When you are registering your Girl Scout, if the cost of the program is a hindrance for attendance you have the option to adjust the fee of the program. No additional form or request, just select that option to have your Girl Scout attend for 50% off or for free.

We ask that adults completing the form do so “on their honor” understanding that the council cost of the program will then be covered by our Daisy's Circle donors. Girl Scouts of Colorado holds the right to question any individual or troop that it suspects is abusing the financial aid system.

Support Girl Scouts Across the State Whether your troop is amazing at Product Program sales or you have leftover funds before you graduate, you can choose to give back to help support Girl Scouts across the state to attend events, summer camp, or even purchase uniforms.

Your troop can make either a one-time gift to support other Girl Scouts across the state or join Daisy’s Circle, our monthly giving society that provides ongoing support to your Girl Scout sisters year-round.

To make a one-time donation visit us at: girlscoutsofcolorado.org/donate

SISTERHOOD OF SUPPORT

Girl Scouts of Colorado's Mental Health Initiative, Sisterhood of Support, is a support system for Girl Scouts, leaders, and our broader Girl Scout family to learn how to take care of themselves and how to look out for their friends. Throughout this year, we will have special opportunities for Girl Scouts of all ages to learn more about mental wellness. Stay tuned to our communications for ways you can build a sisterhood of support with your Girl Scouts.

Sisterhood of SupportQ Q Q

We finish the Girl Scout Law by stating “be a sister to every Girl Scout,” affirming that we are here to support each other through the good and bad in life—just like a sister would. In this patch program, we take the concept of the Girl Scout sisterhood of support and bring it to life for our Girl Scouts by giving them the skills and knowledge to support their peers in one of the biggest concerns facing youth: mental health.

OUTDOORS

You live in a world of screens—smartphone, laptop, TV, tablet—and sometimes you just want to get away from it all. We get it. That’s why you can focus your Girl Scout experience on getting outdoors. You’ll develop the kind of outdoor skills it’s hard to get anywhere else. Skills like building a campfire, pitching a tent, or canoeing across a lake. Hey, how about adding some horseback riding, rock climbing, and archery to the mix? With your troop, at camp, or on another outdoor program, you’ll find out how much fun it can be to unplug and explore the world around you.

Adult Outdoor Skills TrainingThere are lots of ways to get outdoors with girls, anything from a walk in a local park, to a day outdoor skill building adventure, to an overnight backpacking trip! As girls move through an outdoor progression, different kinds of adult volunteer training is needed. Use this chart to learn about all of the adult outdoor skills training opportunities available to you as a volunteer with Girl Scouts of Colorado!

Outdoor Program Planning Resource GuideGirl Scouts love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and making memories. Connecting with the great outdoors in a girl-led setting is a big benefit of belonging to Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts of Colorado developed this guide for troop leaders, volunteers, and caregivers to use as a resource to help plan their next outdoor adventure with their Girl Scouts—outdoor adventures like visiting a Girl Scout property, camping with your troop, planning your own outdoor activity and more!

Outdoor Adventure ClubQ Q Q

Join us for an Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC) event this year! The OAC is a staff-led program offering monthly outdoor experiences around the state for Cadettes and older. This year the OAC is going rock climbing, kayaking, camping, cross country skiing and even summiting some Colorado mountain peaks! Learn more about upcoming events and sign up for our interest list.

Summer Camps 2022 – camp.girlscoutsofcolorado.orgQ Q Q Q Q Q

Away from home, out in nature: You’re already the best version of yourself. Sometimes you just need the view from the mountaintop, a swim in a lake, or a night camping under a sky full of stars to see it for yourself. Try overnight camp at Sky High Ranch or Tomahawk Ranch, attend a Troop Camp, or sign up for a local day camp in your region.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Why is entrepreneurship important for girls? Having an entrepreneurial mindset prepares girls for a successful education, a career of their choosing, and the skills needed to tackle challenges they’re most passionate about. In short, it balances the scales and readies them for today’s world.

Through Girl Scouts, girls learn to think like entrepreneurs as they participate in activities that spark curiosity, confidence, and innovation.

Every girl can benefit, maybe even discover what she’s passionate about, by learning to think like an entrepreneur:• Be curious• Embrace challenge• Take initiative• Collaborate with others

• Take creative risks• See failing as learning• Adapt to change
