Ezekiel 38:1-9

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of

the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against

him 3 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief

prince of Meshechfn and Tubal. 4 And I will turn you about and put hooks into

your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of

them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield,

wielding swords. 5 Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield

and helmet; 6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togarmah from the uttermost parts

of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you.

7 “Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you,

and be a guard for them. 8 After many days you will be mustered. In the latter

years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land whose

people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which

had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and

now dwell securely, all of them. 9 You will advance, coming on like a storm. You

will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples

with you.

▪ Proverbs 30:27 Locusts have no king

▪ So how can it be literal locusts if they have a king which locusts do

not have?

o KEY - We’re talking about DEMONIC and Physical Forces mixed, not literal

locusts, or perhaps literal locust, too???

▪ They create a problem, then go in and tell the authorities, “We will fix

previously Moderate Muslim nations who were either positive toward

the West or at least tolerant of

▪ President Obama encouraged this!

▪ But not in this battle…

o Egypt would be expected, but is not Mentioned

▪ Could this be because of the defeat of the Muslim Brotherhood?

▪ A moderate Islamic government?

o Jordan is not present

▪ Western-backed Moderate, Islamic Monarchy

▪ Treaty with King Hussein – 1994 [I WAS THERE!]

▪ The burning of Jordanian Pilot Muadh al-Kasasbeh by ISIS - 2015

• The gov’t immediately executed 2 Al-Qaida prisoners

• King Abdullah of Jordan released photos from fighter pilot days

• Rumors spread that he actually participated in the initial

bombing of Raqqa, Syria

• He now denies it, but people wouldn’t put it past him

• Now we have a President like him MAGA! Speak loudly AND

carry a big stick!

o Saudi Arabia

▪ Biblically “Arabia” or Sheba & Dedan

▪ Mentioned later, but not participating

▪ Western-backed, Islamic, Moderate Gov’t

• Sunni Muslim do not cooperate with Shiites of Iran

• Sunni People support ISIS, though

▪ Last week, when Solemanei was being buried, the Iranians were

shouting, “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” which is normal

▪ But they were also saying “Death to Saudi” because Saudi Arabia is

befriending Israel

o Iraq [BIBLICAL BABYLON] is mysteriously absent

▪ Not so mysterious after 9/11 and 2003

▪ Now a sectarian “Democratic” state

▪ Threatening to be overrun by Iran, though

So what are all of these guys planning to do?

Ezekiel 38:10-13

10 “Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day, thoughts will come into your mind, and

you will devise an evil scheme 11 and say, ‘I will go up against the land of

unwalled villages. I will fall upon the quiet people who dwell securely, all of

them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ 12 to seize spoil and

carry off plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places that are now

inhabited, and the people who were gathered from the nations, who have

acquired livestock and goods, who dwell at the center of the earth. 13 Sheba and

Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its leaders [YOUNG LIONS] will say to

you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off

plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize

great spoil?’

➢ They will Devise An Evil Scheme

o Against those who Dwell Securely

▪ No walls

▪ Unbelievable to an ancient warrior

▪ Israel no longer depends on walls for security

o Israeli military leaders have an overconfidence about them…

▪ Even though they’ve experienced the Holocaust

▪ Even though they’ve lived through so many attacks in their short

modern history

▪ Part of it is PRIDE and spiritual blindness…

▪ Part of it is their great military

o Israel has one of the Most Powerful Military Forces in HISTORY

▪ Zechariah 12:6 “… devour their enemies…”

▪ Israeli Defense Force [NEED CONSTANT DEFENSE]

• All citizens are compelled to serve 2 years

• Highly Trained

• Every day is 9/11

▪ Merkava Main Battle Tank - Vulcan Air Defense Weapon

▪ Nuclear Weapons

• OBAMA EXPOSED THEIR NUCLEAR SECRETS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, IN RETALIATION

FOR NETANYAHU’S MIRACLE ELECTORAL VICTORY

▪ Their very EXISTENCE is at stake… and they KNOW it… we do, only

with Trump in office, though! But what happens when he’s gone?

o So the Axis Powers need an EVIL SCHEME to defeat Israel

▪ They need to build a coalition with a SNEAK attack

▪ Like 1948, 1967, & 1973 [YOM KIPPUR]

▪ So they are not going to attack when Israel is at DEFCON 1, they’re

going to attack when Israel feels safe, DEFCON 5

▪ Israel feels pretty safe with Trump as the American Commander

o The events of Last Week, have moved some of the players into more of an

alignment for this to happen:

▪ Trump is looking to pull troops out and just use bombs

• Iran is making the LONG play by speaking loudly and carrying a

SMALL stick in hopes of getting a bigger stick LATER!

• Live to fight another day down the road

• Currently, American warships are in the Persian Gulf with

nuclear missiles aimed straight at Tehran

• And our military is on High Alert

▪ THUS… We’re NOT saying “THIS IS IT!”

• We ARE saying that things are definitely getting more aligned

• The KEY is America’s departure or defeat

• No one would dare commence this attack with American forces,

especially nuclear forces, especially while TRUMP in the

Commander-in-chief…

o So, the contradiction is that Israel feels safe with Trump in power and

America taking the heat

▪ Thus, for this to happen, America has to change dramatically

▪ AS we said last week, ALL NATIONs will turn against Israel [ZECH 12:3]

▪ So whatever this is we have with Trump isn’t going to last…

• It could swell until the rapture occurs

• Or it could change this year [GET OUT AND VOTE]

• Or after the next term… Or DURING the next term????

➢ These nations will say to them, ‘Have you come to Seize Spoil?” Who are

they…

▪ Staunch American Allies [DESERT STORM, IRAQI FREEDOM]

▪ Oil-rich nation

▪ They don’t participate, but they sit by and watch

o What is the spoil?

▪ Israel Continues to Discover OIL Reserves offshore

• Oil has been center stage in the Middle East since WWI

• Been used as an economic weapon by many

• Been the cause of many conflicts and several wars

• But, until recently, Israel has been left dry

o Importing 99% of oil needs

o Importing 70% of natural gas needs

That may not be true in the near future!

▪ “For they draw from the abundance of the seas and the hidden

treasures of the sand.” Deut 33:19

• Several oil fields have been discovered offshore

• Cover 100’s of thousands of acres under the sea

o “Could produce enough oil to cover the US needs for

35 years” says Mike Kapsch of InvestmentU.com

o Israel could become the 3rd largest – behind Saudi Arabia

& Venezuela

▪ Could it be…

• During the Magog Invasion

• Vs 13 – part of the “great spoil” attempted to be taken by this

invasion is this oil?

• Russia DOES have the necessary crude oil processing

equipment

• They are the main supplier of Natural Gas… at an exorbitant

price

• If Israel continues in this direction and offers natural gas at

extremely low prices, it could CRIPPLE the endangered Russian

economy

• Just a possibility… it could happen now!

➢ Tarshish & their Leaders

o Tarshish-as far out as you can go in the Med Sea [MODERN SPAIN, GIBRALTAR]

o Leaders = Young Lions… or leaders,

o Could this refer to the USA?

▪ Some say yes, but either way, America has no major role in end times

prophecy as previously stated

▪ There are all kinds of theories as to why

▪ Important to this specific topic:

• There’s no one to fear

• Currently, they can’t attack Israel because the USA will defend

them by destroying the attackers

• But, without America in the Middle East, all bets are off

▪ Perhaps Trump pulls American forces out of the MidEast and things

begin to move in this direction …

▪ With USA out, there’s No one to intervene!

▪ How could the most powerful and productive nation in history NOT

be in the end times scenario?

• After the Trump presidency…

• Rapture? Major revival? 4 More years?

• Ineptitude?

• Financial collapse?

• EMP? Nuclear attack from North Korea?

Ezekiel 38:14-16

14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord GOD:

On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know it? 15

You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you

and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty

army. 16 You will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the

land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may

know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

➢ God’s battle is Against the EVIL prince named Gog to display his holiness

[FALLEN ANGEL?]

➢ But he is the force BEHIND an evil Army

o Remember, the Scythians were famous horsemen

▪ In the uttermost parts of the north

o Moscow is directly NORTH of Jerusalem

o It says they will be Riding Horses

• Sword = weapon, horse = transportation

▪ Today we still have Army Cavalry, light armor & speed [BRADLEY, LAV]

Ezekiel 38:17-23

17 “Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my

servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I

would bring you against them? [SEPTUAGINT RENDERS THIS RHETORICAL OR

SIMPLY AN ASSERTION]

18 But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel,

declares the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused in my anger. 19 For in my

jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great

earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea and the birds of the

heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the

ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at my

presence. And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and

every wall shall tumble to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against

[WEAPON] Gog on all my mountains, declares the Lord GOD. Every man’s sword

[WEAPON] will be against his brother. 22 With pestilence and bloodshed I will

enter into judgment with him, and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the

many peoples who are with him torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur.

23 So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the

eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.

➢ God HIMSELF will falter this attack

o All the world will know it

o But they will NOT repent and turn to him

How will he do it?

Ezekiel 39:1-3

1 “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus says the Lord GOD:

Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech [ROSH] and Tubal. 2

And I will turn you about and drive you forward [BREAK YOU INTO PARTS,

DECIMATE YOU] , and bring you up from the uttermost parts of the north, and

lead you against the mountains of Israel. 3 Then I will strike your bow from

your left hand, and will make your arrows drop out of your right hand.

➢ Strike their Bows & Arrows

o Arrows = anything that pierces by flying through the air

▪ Bows = launcher

▪ Missles and Launchers? Very distinct possibility

▪ We just saw Iran shoot some of those this week!

o Jeremiah 50:9 Does this describe smart bombs? “…their arrows are like a

skilled warrior who does not return empy-handed…”

o Zech 14:12 “12 And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike

all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while

they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and

their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13 And on that day a great panic

from the LORD shall fall on the”

▪ Does this describe the Neutron Bomb?

▪ It destroys PROTEINS in living things and not physical structures!

This was written over 2,000 years ago!

Ezekiel 39:4-6

4 You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your hordes and the

peoples who are with you. I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the

beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 You shall fall in the open field, for I have

spoken, declares the Lord GOD. 6 I will send fire [SECOND TIME] on Magog and

on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they shall know that I am

the LORD.

➢ As if “torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur” aren’t enough…

More FIRE!

➢ Who are these in the Coastlands?

o They also dwell securely

▪ Securely can be translated as CARELESSLY [OVER CONFIDENT?]

▪ Could this refer to an AMERICAN alliance with the RUSSIAN coalition?

▪ The TRUE Russian collusion… in the future?

▪ Possibly, but again, not a major role, if at all

o This looked ever so possible under Obama’s Nuke deal, as he partnered

with Putin AND Iran, but NOT Israel…

▪ Obama set down with the leaders of Russian AND Iran while refusing

to have any positive relations with BB Netanyahu

▪ He gave Iran BILLIONS of dollars

o Pres Trump is a completely different story…

▪ Trump’s relationship with Israel is more positive and genuine than

any president ever!

▪ He would never turn on Israel as the previous administration did

▪ Pastor Jack Hibbs, a CC pastor in SoCal and who met with the

President and a group of other pastors says that Trumps mother was

a Christian and a prayer warrior

• He grew up going to church

• He regularly heard prayers for the Peace of Jerusalem and the

Israeli people

• But, Who will the next president be?

• Ultimately, as we saw last week, ALL NATIONS will turn against

Israel… Zech 12:3

Ezekiel 39:7-10

7 “And my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and I

will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And the nations shall know that I

am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Behold, it is coming and it will be brought

about, declares the Lord GOD. That is the day of which I have spoken. [IT WILL

HAPPEN!!!]

9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and make fires of the

weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, clubs and spears;

and they will make fires of them for seven years, 10 so that they will not need

to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they will

make their fires of the weapons. They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled

them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.

➢ Making Fires!

o In his commentary on this passage in 1860

▪ JA Seiss [1823-1904]

▪ Stated that this must be symbolic… couldn’t get it!

▪ He just couldn’t see how a WEAPON could burn for 7 years

o He didn’t understand Nuclear Energy

▪ This passage may be describing nuclear fusion

▪ A typical nuclear warhead contains:

• An implosion device with a fission core

• It is surrounded by explosive charges detonated simultaneously

• These charges compress the core to criticality causing an

atomic explosion

• This is surrounded by TRITIUM gas igniting a fusion chain

• Creating a Thurmonuclear Reaction AKA a Hydrogen Bomb

▪ Israel will collect their undetonated warheads

• The fission core could be converted to a Fuel Source

• The shelf life of the typical Russian warhead of this type? SEVEN

YEARs

What about the detonated ones?

Ezekiel 39:11-16

11 “On that day I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the

Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his

multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog. 12 For

seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the

land. 13 All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown

on the day that I show my glory, declares the Lord GOD. 14 They will set apart

men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on

the face of the land, so as to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will

make their search. 15 And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a

human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the

Valley of Hamon-gog. 16 (Hamonah is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they

cleanse the land.

➢ The Valley of Hammon-Gog

o “The Valley of the Multitudes of Gog” - The Russo-Arab Holocaust

▪ Travelers are stopped by the contamination

▪ 7 Months waiting, then 7 months to BURY the dead

▪ Professional Burial crews [HAZMAT suits?]

o Warning Signs when bones are found –

▪ These signs are used by the current Military

▪ They are to be placed in order to warn people of contamination

▪ This was written 2500 years ago!

o This is apparently describing the use of nuclear weapons

▪ Are they Russian? Are they Iranian?

▪ Do you recall what President Obama said about his nuclear deal when

people chastised him saying he was helping them to develop nukes?

▪ He said, “Not on my watch…” [DID HE MEAN, AFTER HE LEAVES AND

HILLARY TAKES OVER? PROBABLY]

▪ President Trump quoted this at the beginning of his speech recently

after the Iranians shot ballistic missiles at our bases in Iraq

▪ Under the bad Obama deal with Iran, it was looking like Iran would

certainly be able to get weapons

▪ Pres Trump now says NO

o Why do they want them? What will they do with them?

▪ They will destroy the Great Satan – The USA

▪ And they will destroy the little Satan – Israel

o What will happen now after these recent events?

▪ Iranian-backed militia rockets hit the us Embassy in Baghdad today

▪ But The Magog Invastion will happen at some point…

• whether they are Russian, Iranian, Pakastanian, Chinese, or

North Korean nukes…

• Or… It COULD BE simpler weapons and they just burn them in

furnaces for 7 years… this is possible

Ezekiel 39:17-29

17 “As for you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: Speak to the birds of every

sort and to all beasts of the field, ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to

the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the

mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. 18 You shall eat the

flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of

lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them fat beasts of Bashan. 19 And you

shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial

feast that I am preparing for you. 20 And you shall be filled at my table with

horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the

Lord GOD.

21 “And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my

judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them. 22 The

house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God, from that day forward.

23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their

iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from

them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the

sword. 24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their

transgressions, and hid my face from them.

25 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob

and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy

name. 26 They shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced

against me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them

afraid, 27 when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them

from their enemies’ lands, and through them have vindicated my holiness in the

sight of many nations. 28 Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God,

because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into

their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore.

29 And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit

upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”

o We’re not happy about wars

pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither

shall they learn war anymore” Micah 4:3

o Well, How do you react when you see those Red & Blue Lights in the

mirror?

▪ You immediately EXAMIN yourself – You look at the speedometer

▪ You then CHANGE your behavior – You hit the brakes

▪ The presence of an OFFICER changes our conduct

▪ The Expectation of the nearness of the PRESENCE of JESUS should do

the same, not out of FEAR, but out of LOVE for Him

▪ Anticipate His Presence and let it CHANGE your behavior!

o “…Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us

what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be

like him, for we will see him as he really is. 3 And all who have this eager

expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. …” 1 JN 3:2-3
