WHAT IS OPERATION FACELIFT?Operation Facelift is a regional community-wide project created to revitalize downtown areas throughout Southern Idaho, build community pride, and encourage downtown activity and new business development. From a new park bench to a beautiful mural, the annual project encourages Magic Valley cities to complete projects, big or small, to create a better community.

The City of Glenns Ferry would like to paint the rail car outside of the Glenns Ferry Historical Museum, which showcases the city’s rich railroad history.

The city would also like to place metal picnic tables, handmade musical instruments for kids, art pieces, new playground equipment, large checker set, and flowers at the Glenns Ferry Historical Museum Park.

The City of Wendell is conducting a community cleanup day. Volunteer groups will clean up parks, lay sod in a bare patch of the city park, touch up paint on picnic tables, paint the city park bandshell, and re-paint and restore the front of the historic ACE theater on Main Street.

CITY OF GLENNS FERRY, IDAHO - “Historic Upgrades” - $750

Richfield would like to paint the store fronts of four buildings on Main Street that are in need of a facelift, as well as paint a mural on the Richfield Library to attract more youth. Additionally, the project would include installing four benches on Main Street to encourage a community feel and placemaking. Potted plants may also be included near benches to make the downtown feel warm and welcoming.

GOLD LEVEL PROJECTS - $2,600 - 3,300

The City of Dietrich would like to repair and/or replace residents’ mailboxes that are damaged and in need of a facelift. Volunteers will paint all of the mailboxes and mailbox posts with colorful art selected by the owner (i.e. flowers, butterflies, etc.). High school wood shop students will help with installing new mailbox posts where needed.

This project will also include painting any Dietrich resident’s front door who wishes to participate. The owners can pick their desired color.

These projects are intended to launch Dietrich’s Community Pride Grows Ripple Effect campaign.

CITY OF SHOSHONE, IDAHO - “Welcome to Main Street” - $1,200

The City of Shoshone would like to install seating and benches on Main Street, outside of core businesses and the senior center. The project will also include painting the store fronts of six businesses along Main Street that are historic buildings in need of a facelift.

The City of Buhl would like to purchase resin planters and flowers to put in the downtown area along Main Street and Broadway to make it more welcoming to visitors.

The Buhl Chamber of Commerce would like to create a new sign for Magic Valley Brewing in downtown Buhl as well as a community table for their outdoor beer garden.

CITY OF HOLLISTER, IDAHO - “Park Accessibility Matters” - $5,000The City of Hollister would like to update the City Park, making it more accessible to residents, easier to use and safer for children. Approximately 10 picnic tables will be built to allow more use by disabled and healthy citizens. Up-to-date safety materials are needed under the playground equipment and at least one cement or asphalt walkway is needed. General beautification efforts with trees and other plants are also planned.

The City of Gooding would like to use the Operation Facelift funds to help purchase an electronic reader board for entrance to the fair and the City of Gooding. Each month, the city will use the reader board to spread the word about activities in the community.SPONSORED!
