Event Overview
The Resources Skills and Productivity Summit is the only Australian resource sector
conference to focus on both skills and productivity issues.
The Resources Skills & Productivity Summit is now in its fourth year, having evolved
from its inception as a skills based event, to now include topics such as workforce
planning, attraction and retention, diversity, innovation and productivity.
This years’ event will deliver a focus on how business can capture value in tough
economic times, with each session concentrated on addressing the different
elements and detailed discussions.
The current tough economic times have shown that business needs to again refocus
on how to effectively utilise what they have at hand (in terms of upskilling current
staff, ‘trimming the fat’ from budgets, and reduce spending, in order to survive in
the foreseeable future.
The 2015 summit will attract key executives and managers from mining and energy
companies, with more than 150 delegates expected to attend.
We are securing a wide range of world class speakers to deliver thought provoking
presentations and lead important topics such as the economic outlook, workforce
planning in challenging times, projected growth forecasts and their impact on the
Australian economy.
A program of speakers is currently being compiled.

Venue & Date
Date Thursday 6 August 2015 | Venue Adelaide Convention Centre
The RESA Skills and Productivity Summit will be presented at the Adelaide
Convention Centre which is centrally located on North Terrace, overlooking one of
Adelaide’s River Torrens. Summit delegates will enjoy the ambience of this
outstanding, award winning convention centre, with it’s recent stage one upgrade
completed, high quality catering, and picturesque views. In terms of surrounding
attractions, there is easy access to Adelaide’s CBD shopping precinct, Adelaide
Central Markets, Adelaide Casino, museum and art gallery.
The Summit will be held on 6th August during Adelaide’s winter. Despite South
Australia getting most of its rainfall during the winter months, most days are fine
and sunny. Winter day temperatures in South Australia hover around 16 to 18°C
with overnight temperatures typically being about 10°C. Adelaide has been dubbed
the ‘20-minute city’ as this is the time it takes to travel from the city centre to the
Adelaide hills, beachside suburbs or other outlying suburbs. The city centre is
pedestrian friendly and is also serviced by electric trams and solar powered buses.
Adelaide’s modern airport terminal, with state of the art facilities and sweeping
views of the hills and beyond, ensures an exceptional welcome to South Australia.
Located just 15 minutes from Adelaide’s central business district and minutes from
the city's famous beachside suburbs, Adelaide Airport is arguably the most
conveniently located of all Australia’s capital city airports. Conference delegates
visiting Adelaide are assured a quick, easy and inexpensive journey into the city
centre. Indeed, Adelaide Airport has become the most efficient passenger terminal
in Australia, winning numerous quality service awards both nationally and
internationally.
