WOMEN AND NONVIOLENCE(CCS 3668/SOCI 3668)We will examine women activists who have shaped history through their fight against political persecution, social deprivation and gender discrimination in a nonviolent way. Their courage and ability to inspire hope in others show how much we urgently need women leaders in our global world.

COMMUNICATION PRACTICES FOR ADULT EDUCATION (ED 3113)Identifies general theories of and strategies for oral, written and visual communications. Students will be expected to assess their skill levels in all three areas.

INSTRUMENTATION DESIGN (ECE 4133)This course considers the design of a general-purpose data acquisition system. The electronic design engineer of today can no longer be thought of as a digital or analog designer. Consequently, this course melds the analog and digital electronics areas with a unified engineering approach emphasizing the practical aspects involved. Computer aided design tools are used wherever possible. Prerequisites: ECE 3122, ECE 3221.

MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES(MUS 1001)This course examines the role of music in the social, ceremonial, spiritual, and everyday lives of people in the western world over the last two millennia. Many of the great musicians, composers, and styles of western music culture are studied. This course serves as a foundation for other studies in music and music history.

PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH & SAFETYWorkplaces play an important part in mental health—they can help people feel productive but they can also be the cause of increased stress. Since many Canadians spend the majority of their day at work, it is vital that employers pay attention to mental health issues.

Improving the psychological safety of a workplace means taking precautions to ensure an employee's psychological health. A psychologically healthy and safe workplace is one that promotes employee mental well-being and actively works to create positive mental health.

Employees who work for psychologically safe leaders are more likely to report higher job satisfaction and engage-ment, better workplace relationships, and better psychological well-being.

PSYCHOLOGICALLY SAFE LEADERSThis course is designed to help leaders and aspiring leaders better understand the concept and risk factors associated with being a psychologically safe leader. Participants will gain the knowledge necessary to help mitigate risk, develop skills, and enhance awareness related to their role and how it can positively impact the psychological safety of employees.
