StockportLoaves & Fishes

Stockport Loaves and Fishes provide support to homeless and disadvantaged people within

Stockport. They distribute clothes, bedding, tents, sleeping bags and emergency food parcels when required. Loaves and Fishes also provide hot meals every Sunday evening at Stockport Baptist Church.

They intend to use any funding that they receive to fund workshops enabling struggling women to find jobs and prepare them for interviews. Loaves and Fishes also plan on sponsoring families to purchase furniture as they are moved into accommodation.

Millie’s Trust

Millie’s Trust are parents who believe in providing First Aid training to all. They offer First Aid training to children through local schools in order to equip

them with life saving techniques and knowledge.

Millie’s Trust intend on using the funding that they receive to upgrade, replace or replenish the

equipment that they use to teach their courses. The funding will enable them to replace their training

manikin faces, lungs and throat pieces. They would also be able to replace their First Aid training kits

along with some new training AEDs.

Stockport SharksSwimming Club

Stockport Sharks Swimming Club are a volunteer ran swimming club that provide the opportunity to enjoy the fun of swimming in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the bustle of a public session, free of charge. Their services are available to those with physical and sensory disabilities or those recovering from

injuries or illness such as strokes and heart problems.

They intend to use the funding they receive to maintain their pool hoist and provide equipment

that benefits their members, in order to ensure that swimmers of all capabilities can enjoy the pool.

Offerton CricketJuniors

Offerton Cricket Juniors are a local community cricket club with 2 senior teams and 4 junior teams including a new girls team. With over 40 children

regularly attending, they are run entirely by volunteers and parents and keep their subscription fees low so that they can offer cricket to all within

the local community.

They intend to use the funding that they receive to improve their facilities and equipment as well as the

construction of a female changing area for their new girls team.

Stockport LGBT +Youth Group

The Stockport LGBT+ youth group is a life saving and life enhancing charity providing education, support

and advocacy for LGBT+ youths. They provide a safe space, educational resources and a community.

The Stockport LGBT+ youth group have been having difficulties with attacks on their group. They intend to use the funding to raise awareness of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in order to make it easier for the LGBT+ youths to better take part in the wider

community.

Smart WorksGreater Manchester

Smart Works Greater Manchester is a charity which provides high quality interview clothes, styling

advice and interview training to women in need. They give women the confidence, self-belief and

practical tools that they require in order to succeed at an interview and begin a new chapter of their

life.

Based in Stockport, they offer 2 hour sessions to aid women in need in choosing an outfit, that they are

able to keep, alongside dedicated one-to-one interview training.

In the next 12 months their goal is to support over 400 women with the funding they receive.

Transport forSick Children

Transport for Sick Children are a local volunteer led charity that provide a safe and managed structure

through which local community members can volunteer and use their cars to take sick and

disabled children to hospital, clinic and therapy appointments. Many of the children they work with have complex health and social problems and their

low-income families struggle to manage their frequent appointments.

They intend on using the funding they receive to directly contribute towards the near 300 trips they run per year, each of which costs approximately

£23.

The Garden HouseCharity

The Garden House Charity in Marple is an urban farm with the goal of providing families, trusts and

educational establishments with an outdoor space in the Cheshire countryside. It is a place where

people can come to learn about animal welfare and develop an appreciation of the beautiful and

historic surroundings.

Alongside the wide range of ages that visit their farm, they hope to expand their current offerings for

less able people by using the funding to create a fully functional mobile toilet block with disabled

access and baby changing facilities.

Paramount AmateurBoxing Club

Paramount Amateur Boxing Club support both male and female members from 8 years old to adults in promoting health and well being, giving them an

opportunity to develop their boxing skills and keep them off the streets. They keep their session fees as

low as £2.00 in order to make their classes accessible to all, including those from disadvantaged

backgrounds.

They are seeking funding to facilitate a move to a more suitable location which requires refurbishments and new equipment, allowing them to care for their

current members whilst attracting new ones.

The MillenniumYouth Bar Trust

The Millennium Youth Bar Trust is a free-to-attend youth centre in the centre of Bramhall with the goal of providing a safe haven for the youth of Bramhall. In the centre local youths are encouraged to make new friends, learn new skills and have fun. They offer

daily after school lessons alongside two Saturday sessions where the youths have access to video

games, table tennis, pool and more.

Following their recent move to new premises, opened by the Mayor of Stockport, they are seeking funding in order to add a stair lift to their facilities as

their cafe and chill out areas are situated on the third floor. They are looking to enable less abled

youths access to all of their facilities.

Poynton CommunityFirst Responders

Poynton Community First Responders are volunteer responders representing the North West Ambulance Service. They carry pagers that in the event of a 999 call, will go off, alerting them to a local emergency.

This allows them to be the first on the scene to provide lifesaving support.

They intend to use the funding that they receive to maintain their 4x4 response vehicle and to fund any equipment that they require throughout the year.

Pure Insight 16-28Care Leavers Group

Pure Insight deliver a range of projects which provide practical and emotional support to young

people between the ages of 16-28 who have left or will leave statutory care. They address issues such as

homelessness, loneliness, isolation, poor mental or physical health and a lack of opportunities. Their

support helps young care leavers to develop skills, confidence, talents, resilience and support networks

in the local community.

They will use the funding they receive to buy necessary equipment for activities such as learning how to cook, encouraging self care and providing them with self care kits. Pure Insight seeks to benefit

the more socially deprived areas of Stockport.

MENTELL

MENTELL provide men over the age of 18 with a safe and confidential space to talk about anything that matters, free from judgement. Their circles are free

of charge, only requiring the participants willingness to make progress.

MENTELL intend on using the funding that they receive to supply 10,000 branded beer mats in local Stockport bars and pubs to raise awareness of their

services and offer men with information on the service should they need to reach out.

Stockport UserFriendly Fellowship

Stockport User Friendly Fellowship is a service user led charitable organisation that believes service users

can utilise their many years of experience and expertise in mental health in order to benefit their

local community.

Their organisation has a variety of skills, working co-productively within the local community

supporting people towards their own personal growth and mental well-being. They are all

volunteers who have lived with mental illness.

The Friendly Fellowship aim to use their funding to offer out of hours and over the weekend services to

provide support when other third sector organisations may not be available and to offer an

alternative to local A&E departments.
