The ARA is delighted to host our largest AusRAIL PLUS event yet, this year to be held at the Sydney International Convention Centre. Well known as the biggest rail event in the southern hemisphere, this years’ conference, technical sessions, exhibition and social functions are not to be missed.
With the all-encompassing theme, ‘Delivering Growth; Creating Opportunity; Embracing Technology’, AusRAIL PLUS 2019 will explore the challenges and opportunities in all sectors of the rail industry.
Over the three full days, you will see, hear, meet and connect with key industry and government stakeholders, customers, researchers and suppliers.
Day one of the conference will commence with exploring how rail is developing our cities and improving their livability with presentations on key nation-building projects, before the pitches from our young rail professionals and the afternoon technical streams.
The second day focusses on connection and the employment needs of our industry before a further round of technical streams. The final day will explore the technology aspect of the theme including the benefits of digital transformation for rail freight and Smart Rail.
The technical streams arranged by the Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA), the Rail Track Association Australia (RTAA), Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE), the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) and the Rail Suppliers highlight the latest advances in innovation and collaboration.
The conference and technical streams are complemented by an impressive trade show, featuring over 400 confirmed exhibitors demonstrating their products and services. The exhibition will again also feature the AusRAIL Innovation Hub - a resource centre of new ideas.
The social functions will again be a highlight and include both the RTAA Yellow Tie Dinner and the Gala Dinner in addition to numerous networking opportunities.
Our conferences aim to encourage the next generation; AusRAIL PLUS 2019 features the Future Leaders, the Young Rail Professionals Pitching Competition and the Next-Generation Conference Scholarships as well as a mentor rate for attendees under 35 years of age.
I encourage you and your colleagues to join us in creating opportunities and delivering growth at AusRAIL PLUS 2019.
Yours sincerely,
Danny BroadChief Executive Officer, Australasian Railway Association
