Summer Camps

IMPORTANT! SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION:1. Summer camps will not run unless minimum registration is met. 2. Register now to avoid camp cancellations and disappointment. 3. RELIC SSS CAMP Ages 8 - 13SURF, SKATE AND SUP with Relic Surf Shop and our awesome team of instructors. Join us for four afternoons of surfing whether you are a beginner or advancing your surfing skills. Enjoy SUP adventures at Little Beachor Kennedy Lake and learn or advance skateboard at Ukee’s Skate Park. We will email itineraries the week before due to weather. All transportation and gear is included except helmets and elbow/shin padding. If you have your own skateboard feel free to bring it! Children must be able to swim. Don’t forget to bring your towel, bathing suit, change of clothes, sunscreen,snacks, water bottle and your smile.

CIRCUS CAMP Ages 5 - 18Uni-cycling, juggling, free stilts, trapeze, tightrope, acrobatics and more! This bilingual camp gives children ages 5 - 18 the opportunity to learn and practice circus arts in French and English! The participants will receive a certificate at the end of the week. Family and friends are invited to the Friday afternoon class to enjoy a final performance!

OCEAN CAMP Ages 6 - 12Join the Raincoast Education Society team in this camp and learn all about salt water and anything that lives in it! Explore coastal nooks and crannies on a paddle-board (all levels), build your own raft to enter in a race and roast treats over a beach campfire - these are just a few activities that will take place during Ocean Camp.

ART & FUN SOCIAL CAMP Ages 6 - 12Summer is here, let’s chat, create and play! If you love Art and Games this is the camp for you. Enjoy an epic week of fun, creativity and movement, indoor and outdoor activities everyday (weather permitting). Our art will be inspired by Andy Warhol’s pop art using pastels and Jackson Pollock’s throwing paint on canvas. We will look at Piet Mondrian’sstyle to create vases. Outside fun will include pickleball,basketball, hackey sack and adventure walks. Get to know new friends, be part of a team. Play fun, confidence building games and connect with others. Put on your running shoes and get ready for awesome social adventures to nearby venues. Fill your backpack with a lunch, snacks, sunscreen, hat and water bottle.

REFUNDS:We will be more than happy to give you a full refund or provide an immediate credit if

we have to cancel a course. A 20% administration fee will be charged for persons cancelling their registration PRIOR to the beginning of a program. A 20%

administration fee, plus a pro-rated charge will be levied to persons who cancel a program AFTER the program has begun. * Swimming is exempt.

Exceptions will be at the discretion of the Manager of Parks & Recreation.

CANCELLATIONS:Sometimes great courses with talented instructors are cancelled if you wait until the last minute to register. We like to give our instructors as much notice as possible so

that they can be properly prepared for their classes.*Register at least one week in advance of class date to avoid disappointment.

YOGA & ART CAMP Ages 5 - 13Join Norannda (Ms. Sigmund) in this summer’s Yoga and Art Camp. Each day will be three fun filled hours of mindful art and yoga fun. Our group will learn yoga postures, breathing exercises,meditation, new songs and fun games. We will create somemala jewelry, affirmation flags, mandala art and water colour paintings. You do not need any prior yoga or art experience, just come and enjoy. Children will learn the basics of yoga in a fun and engaging environment. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack and water bottle.

No dance experience necessary. Everyone is welcome!

EARLY YEARS PROGRAMSTINY TUMBLERS Ages 3 - 4This program is designed to introduce your young child to safe, gross motor movement through organized gymnastics with play, games andcircuits. The coach will lead children through different gymnastic positions and skills, designed to safely experience various movements. Parents are asked to be present for this class to assist their child if needed.

ART SPLASH ADvENTURES Ages 3 - 5An art exploration guided by your little ones because after all they have the best imaginations. In this camp children will be given the opportunity to wonder, inquire and bring to life all their curiosities, in an open ended exploration into different art mediums. They will have the opportunity to approach art in all the unconventional ways their curious minds can think up. We will be experimenting with lots of paint in this creative and messy summer camp. Make sure to bring a lunch, water bottle and clothes that you can get messy in.

Ancient in origin yet modern in concept, Don Jitsu Ryu is one of the most practical, effective and complete martial arts fighting systems in the world today. SLIP CASTING wORkSHOP 101Learn the art of slip casting clay. This introductory course will cover how to pour and open casts, how to make a mold, firing preparation and glazing. Take home a beautiful piece of pottery. All materials included. *Glazed pieces will be finished within one week for pick-up.
