2019 WCMPOA September Board Meeting
The Tuesday, September 10, 2019, the Board meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by Board
President, Marty Lampner. He welcomed the Board back after being off for the summer. Marty
recapped that during the summer period the community did not experience any major incidents.
The minutes from the June Board meeting were approved.
Treasurers Report by Bob Coale
Bob provided each Board member with copies of the August 2019 treasures report as well as a copies
of the Major outlays report for July 2019. The Board approved his reports. He indicated that the
Capital Projects account will be moved from Wells Fargo Bank to County Bank. This transaction will
be done at the convenience of the Board.
Pool and Recreation Report by Adriana Hoffman
Adriana reported that we had a wonderful summer season at the pool. There were no major issues
reported. A copy of the pool attendance report is attached. The Adult Swim was well received. The
Board would like to extend a big thanks to the volunteers who gave of their time to ensure this
success. Thanks to Al Thomas and Jim Hayn for the Adult swim and Leslie Fatula for the aerobics
activity.
The pool had a new pump placed this year and a new pool cover was installed at the end of the
season. There was an issue with the pool cover installation as the cover was not secured correctly.
Best Aquatic Management will return to complete the installation.
Renovations to the pool area were briefly discussed. An outdoor shower was proposed to help reduce
the sand issue in the pool. Bathers would be asked to shower off prior to getting into the pool if
coming from the beach. Another issue discussed was installing vents in the bathrooms to help with
the odor issues. These issues will be further explored at a later meeting.
The extension of the pool season and the use of pool management was also tabled until a future
meeting.
Roads and Grounds by Jack McAleer
Jack and Stan Wildesen met with Jerrys Paving regarding the next phase of the community road
resurfacing project. Mid-September will see the next phase begin. The areas for this phase will
include Bridge Lane to Chad Place, Jaclyn Drive, and Hickman Drive up to the pool area.
There was an issue identified with our community streets as grass growing into the road surface
causes it to break down. The Board requests community members to edge their properties near the
road to help prevent deterioration of the new surfaces. (cond’t, page 2—one of xxx)

Architectural Design Report by Laura Wildesen
Currently there are three lots under development; 609 Bridge Lane, 643 Bridge Lane, and 529 Harbor
Road. Recently two building projects were completed; 777 Hickman Drive and 139 Naomi Drive. A
request for approval of an addition to 152 Naomi Drive was received.
The Social Committee Report by Gloria Knittle
The Social Activities Committee along with Diana Griffiths are working on our Welcome Wagon
program to welcome new families to our community.
Colleen Coale will continue to coordinate our Happy Hours. A suggestion was made to move our
Adult Pool Party to after Labor Day so as to not disrupt the usage of the pool.
New Business
A request was made by a family member of a deceased homeowner for an exception to our rule
regarding yard sales. The family member would like to have an estate sale now to expedite the sale of
the property. The Board is aware that special circumstances sometimes require exceptions to this rule
as and such voted to approve this request for a ONE DAY sale only.
Old Business
The new phone directory is ready for review by the community. Gloria will attach a copy of it to her
newsletter. We are requesting that homeowner review their information and make any necessary
corrections. The distribution method(s) of this directory has not been finalized at this time.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
Respectively submitted, Jan Albright
The August 2019 Pool Party, with the theme of “Havana Nights”, proved to be a huge success. The fun was there for everyone, with souvenirs, Cuban fans and hats and a complimentary Mojito to start the night off. We enjoyed singing and dancing to a variety of Latin music played by our favorite DJ, Paul Mayer. Dinner included Cuba Sandwiches, Havana Chicken, Spanish rice, purple cole slaw, and fruit salad. The food was managed by Jim Hayn. Desserts served was a cake decorated like the Havana theme, lemon bars and mini cheesecakes. The weather was perfect for an evening outdoors.
I wish to thank all of you who took part in making this a fantastic party. Coleen Coale

September Coffee
The first coffee hour of the Fall Season was
kicked off in style by Bob and Coleen Coale.
Bloody Marys and other special drinks were
served up by Bob (coffee, too), while Coleen
presented a delicious array of breakfast
savories and sweets. Sue Rothenhoefer
announced the dates and places of the
upcoming coffees and dinners (please see
announcements within) while everyone

as they caught up with each other after a busy
summer.
September Dinner
Great discovery! On Thursday September 19th. when about 30 of us entered the doors of The Lobster Shanty, everything became almost magical after that. A funky little place in the marsh with great views to offer of the wetlands and the wildlife. For a better view you can ask for binoculars. The bar was awesome with a bartender that really made you feel like he was glad you were in his bar. The real experience came when we entered the dining room with a staff that was totally prepared for us. The staff was amazing as they truly made us believe it was their privilege to serve us and serve us, they did, with some of the most delicious dinners that I have ever eaten. Everyone seemed to share this opinion with me. This has become my favorite restaurant and I can’t wait to go again. Owners David and Janet Twinings secret of success is a pleasing decor, attentive staff, and an interesting menu with quality ingredients. They definitely nailed it....And that’s the way I see it. A testament to our great neighborhood….
My husband, Mike, and I were wondering if
you can send a message out to our neighbors
who always help us out by bringing our
garbage cans back up the driveway when we
are not available to do so. This simple act of
kindness is very much appreciated.
