You may be the type of person that will start the preparation in March with a trip to the store for rubber gloves, disinfectant, Windex and micro fiber cloths. However, some of you are the type who will not open your camper door until you get to Poor Farmer’s f or your first camping trip. Whichever type of prepper you are, it doesn’t change the fact that you are all campers and are now experiencing something we call “Campin’ Fever.” Cabin Fever” is a condition that affects folks who are trapped in their cabin for too long. “Campin’ Fever” is a condition that affects campers who have been away from their RV too long… and we have a great many people who are suffering through this condition. The only true way to remedy this condition that is affecting so many of you, of course, is to go camping. Now many of you are upset because I just suggested that you go camping to cure your illness, but you ask, “Mike, how can we go camping when it’s freezing outside and you don’t have the water turned on at our favorite campground?” My answer, start getting your camper ready. Camping consists of many different actions. You may think camping is all about sitting in your camp chair with your hat over you face quietly napping to the sounds of birds chirping, the creek running, and leaves rustling in the wind; but that is just the last (and best) of many steps. The first step that must be taken before any camping trip is to get your RV ready. Get your list of items that you will need, such as: Cleaners Roofing Conditioner/Protectant Slide-Out Covers (see pg. 3) Replacement Hardware (i.e. cargo door holder, light switch, etc.) Batteries Awnings and Carpets Antenna and/or Satellite Sewer hoses and couplers Fresh water filters …and so much more Therefore, my answer to the cure for “Campin’ Fever” is to take the first step in camping and get your RV ready. Then when you come out to Poor Farmer’s to get your supplies, you can tell everyone you are going camping. Not only will your mindset be where it needs to be, but whoever you tell will be super jealous. Let’s Go Campin’!

February has been a big month for our little Memphis Miles. He has grown to a whopping 22 lbs, has his first tooth popping through and just the other day he said his first word… Dada. This kid is remarkable, of course what would have really been remarkable, is if his first word was “remarkable”. Nevertheless, he is sprouting up fast, just the other day I arrived just in time to see him getting ready to jump out of his exersaucer. He was going to start cooking lunch for his mom. I sure am glad I stopped him, he didn’t realize that his Mom was picking him up a Baconator from Wendy’s. As time goes this kid will grow. Don’t be surprised if one day he is writing his own Memphis Report. He has turned in a couple rough drafts to me, but he still needs some help with his grammar and spelling. All it said was DADADADADADADADAD.

All outstanding 2017 bills (electric, camp,

etc.) must be paid before receiving discounts.

2018 Annual

Get Together

The Annual Poor Farmer’s Get Together is scheduled for April 15th, 2018. For those of you who have not been to this event in the past pay attention, for those of you who have been to this event… pay closer attention. In the past we have always had a wonderful dinner that was catered by our friend Chuck Lyons. Chuck has informed us that he is planning his retirement and needs to take some time to work on his napping. We wish Chuck the best with his retirement and have decided to make a couple changes to the party. To get such a great dinner in the past, there was always a charge for food; this year there will be no charge to attend the Get Together. Instead, we ask that you bring an appetizer to share. Another change will be the time. We have the Get Together scheduled for 3PM and it should only last for about one and a half to two hours. That will leave you with plenty of time to go to dinner afterwards. This will also give you the opportunity to further get to know your neighbors by inviting them to dinner and sticking them with the check, which in turn will let them know a little more about you. There are some parts of the Get Together that will remain the same. Mike is going to get up and tell some corny jokes, go over changes to rules, rates, and procedures, single out the most shy campers at attendance to speak, and of course, give away some very nice door prizes to a few lucky folks; during which we will munch on some tasty treats. Make sure you don’t miss this fun and informative event. April 15th, 2018 at the Fletcher Fire Dept.

ATTENTION!!!!! Campers Who Wish to Relocate Campsites

I have good news and bad news. The good news is I cleaned my office; the bad news… I am sure I threw away my list of returning campers who were interested in relocating campsites for 2018. I remember most of the names on the list, I have been staring at it all Winter, and I will be calling soon to show available campsites. If you have a campsite already and are interested in moving to a new campsite, please call us at the parts store and schedule a day to come see what is available. Let us know soon because once I get returning campers settled in, I start calling new victims… I mean potential campers. Thanks, and if you have any questions you can come see me in my office… my fresh, clean, smells good office. Oops… excuse me… well, it’s clean anyway.

El Chapo Says 50th Anniversary

Weekend

Each year I try to add something new to the Chatter that may enlighten or entertain you. This will probably accomplish neither of those two things. El Chapo Says is an article that will help you and us stay connected on what really matters in life, like making sure there is a clear path to your sewer dumps on dump days. It’s the important issues that we focus on here and if we get a little too deep or if “you-know-what” gets a little too deep, well… I guess you will have to change the channel, because in El Chapo Says, anything goes. FYI, El Chapo translated to English means, Shorty.

El Chapo Says…

• Keeping control of your pets is a very serious job. You must first find a leash, then attach the leash to the K-9, after that… nope, there is no after that. That is literally all you have to do.

• In order to maintain the proper speed (5MPH) at Poor Farmer’s, you must lift your foot off of the gas.

• If you are putting anything in the dumpster that is bigger than El Chapo or El Chapo himself… Think again.

• El Chapo is El Chapo for only one reason… it’s called vertically challenged. Also, he is made in the U.S.A., as far as he knows.

• Finally, thank you all for taking such great care of your campsites and making Poor Farmer’s a great place to be.
