Music History In Weyburn - June Barber June Barber taught for over 50 years in Weyburn. Her lega‐cy can be seen in her many students who went on to be music teachers. Other students who are now parents have encouraged their children and grandchildren to study mu‐sic. June’s lessons o en went beyond the allo ed me period as she was interested in learning about their lives. Her pupils became some of her best friends. Receiving cards and visits are the highlight of her year. Teaching and inspiring excellence in music was her life passion.

She had other interests as well. As a teenager, her excellent ear allowed her to play in dance orchestras, sing in community choirs and act with the Weyburn Drama Group. She directed the musical HMS Pinafore. She was an avid mem‐ber of the Weyburn Arts Board, loved to support and a end the Regina Sym‐phony, Globe Theatre, and opera in Vancouver, Toronto, Minneapolis, and

Regina. We salute June Barber and have a flower arrangement in her honour compliments of Barber Motors.
