2018 Bond Construction Update

The purpose of this report is to provide you with an update as to where the district is with each of the bond projects as of today.

Currently the projects that design groups and district personnel have been working on are:

• Oliver Brown Elementary School• Eugene Field Early Learning Center

• Anthony and Eisenhower Middle Schools• Manhattan High School• Lee Elementary School

• Marlatt Elementary School• Bergman Elementary School

• District Warehouse• Central Kitchen

Eugene Field Early Learning Centers -- BG Consultants/Alloy Architects and BHS-Hutton

Eugene Field• All of the southeast playground equipment has been taken out. Some of the equipment is going to Purple

Wave for auction.• All building corners have been located.• The FEMA footings have been dug and have cages in them. The are ready to be pour today or Thursday.• The underground plumbing in place the need in this area has be inspected and is ready.• All footings have been dug.• Primary electrical feeder conduit is in place.• 75% of the HVAC has been roughed in in the attic space.• The grease interceptor will be installed next week.• North alley has been poured back.• MEP rough in continues.• The southeast playground area has been cut to rough grade.• Mezzanine has been framed up in the area that use to be the kitchen.

Eugene Field

Oliver Brown Elementary – BG Consultants/Alloy Architects and BHS-Hutton

• Sidewalks on the east side of the building are ongoing.• The west parking lot area has been graded, gravel base installed and compacted. Curbing will start

on Thursday.• Roofing is winding down. They are finishing up the copping cap.• MEP rough in is on going in areas B and C. The are installing registers and grills.• EIFS is being placed on the front and back side of the media center overhangs.• Exterior metal panels will be done by the week of May 24th.• All windows and storefronts should be done by the month of May.• Sheetrock is being hung in the media center.• The tectum panels should arrive for the commons area by the end of the week.• The rest of the epoxy flooring will be done by the end of next week.• Carpet in the north portion of the building has begun.• Gym floor installation will begin the week of May 24th.• Building gas meter will be installed today.

Bergman Elementary School – BG Consultants and BHS-Hutton

• All of the parking lot has been poured.• BHS is 80% done with the sidewalks.• The will be pouring the footings for the dolphin. The dolphin should be done getting it’s facelift in the next

couple of weeks.• They will be swinging the new RTU on to the exiting gym next week.• The cloud ceilings are done in the storm shelter.• Epoxy is all done in the restroom and ramp of the FEMA shelter.• The crash pads will be installed next week.• The carpet will also be installed next week.• K-Com has moved the bus radio system and antenna.• The will be installing the canopy for the new entry.• Next week they will be dong the final grad around the parking lot.• Flagpole has been installed.

Bergman Elementary School

Eisenhower and Anthony Middle Schools – BG Consultants/Alloy Architects and McCown Gordon Construction

Anthony Middle School• Area E - MCG continues to work on their internal punch list.• Area F – Final paint is taking place.• CBS is swinging the last of the doors.• Base still needs to be installed in this area.• Sidewalk still needs to be poured up to the tennis courts.• Seeding of disturbed areas will begin in the next week or so.• Gearing up for the summer renovations.

Eisenhower Middle School• Area E – MCG continues to work on their internal punch-list.• MCG will also start working on their final clean.• Area F – work on final paint in all areas.• CBS will swing doors in the area next Tuesday or Wednesday.• The roofer continues to work on the coping cap.• Work continues to connect all the drainage together.• MCM will be there week to grade and work on the fire lane.• Gearing up for the summer renovations.

Manhattan High School – Gould Evans and McCown Gordon Construction• East side – 95% of he concrete track is poured around the synthetic field.• Drains are being installed around the perimeter on the synthetic turf field.• They will start to work on the drain tiles for the field next week.• The sub-contractor for the tennis courts will begin next week.• Steel erection for the fitness center will begin this week.• Gym slab will be poured on Wednesday.• Concrete has been poured in the hallways that surround the gym area.• Mezzanine area is 99% complete with MEP rough in.• The gym and mezzanine are 100% in the dry.• The metal storage building will begin next week.• The beam has been installed where the fitness center will connect to the existing weight room.

• West side – E wing grade beams have been poured.• D wing grade beams are poured that they can get to. They will get the rest of the grade beams after school is

out.• E wing foundation wall is formed and will be poured on Wednesday.• Underground plumbing for E and D wing is being placed as far as they can go for now. There will be quite a

bit of tie-ins once school is out for the summer.• The sub-contractor will start later this week taking off more of the Swiss pear panels. They will start on D

wing and then move over to E wing.

District Warehouse – Gould Evans and McCown Gordon Construction

• The main dock is poured an ready for the dock leveler.• MCM has prepped the drive and dock area for the concrete pour later this week.• The exterior replacement panels have arrived and the sub-contractor has begun replacing panels as of yesterday.• The trash enclosure material has been ordered. The pad will be poured along with the concrete drive later this week.• Signs for the building will be here in about 4 weeks.• The storm shelter is complete.• Canopy is done for the dock area.

District Warehouse

Marlatt Elementary School – BG Consultants – BHS Construction

• Construction will begin on Monday, May 17th.

• Construction planned was shared with the team on Tuesday.

Central Kitchen – GEA – McCown Gordon• The set of drawings was uploaded to the OpCenter for MCG to start working on the budget.• The district should have a budget on what has been drawn up by the end of May.

Lee Elementary – BG Consultants – BHS Construction• Construction on the west side parking will begin on May 18th after we move out of the annexes.• The MFD will use the facilities for training for three days.• BHS will begin to fence of the area and start to mobilize.

Projects That Have Not Started Construction Yet

Moving Begins Friday, May 14th…..

• Bergman Elementary – entire school out of the building to conex boxes, storm shelter or MHSW• Eisenhower Middle School – all classrooms and secondary spaces – moving to gym – move new furniture in wing• Anthony Middle School – all classrooms and secondary spaces - moving to gym – move new furniture in new

wing.• Marlatt Elementary – main hallway, kitchen and SPED room – moving to cafeteria• LeeAnnexes – moving completely out• MHSW – Selective areas – somewhere in the MHSW campus• District Warehouse – moving out of leased warehouse and existing warehouse to new warehouse• Oliver Brown – moving in all furniture and supplies
