Eva Schloss, No AsylumSept 13, 2017 7:00pm The recently discovered letters of Anne Frank’s father, Otto Frank, reveal new information about the family’s struggle to obtain visas to save themselves from the clutches of the Nazis. The world turned its back on the Frank’s and millions of others. “No Asylum”, which is something of a prequel to Anne’s iconic diary, shares unknown details of the Frank family’s story before they went into hiding in the attic, and is a call to action for tolerance and respect. Eva will speak to the audience following the premier and generously answer questions. $18-$25

Willy PorterSept 16, 2017 7:30pm A largely self-taught musician, Porter began treating audiences to his brand of guitar playing and wry storytelling in the late ‘80’s while living in Madison. Searching for the shaman that lives inside the guitar has led Willy Porter on a musical and per-sonal odyssey. Equally accomplished as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Porter’s songs weave a universal perspective about the questions, struggles, and triumphs of human existence. His live shows are equal parts grit, soul, and muscle. $25-$30

Lucy & SuzzySept 21, 2017 7:30pm Suzzy Roche, with her daughter, Lucy Wainwright Roche recorded their first CD, “Fairytale and Myth”, which won the popular vote for best singer/songwriter album of the year for the Independent Music Awards 2014. In 2016 Suzzy and Lucy released their second recording, “Mud & Apples”, which is a beautiful mix of covers and originals with plenty of familial harmonies. $18-$25

He brings his Kindly Relying on Strangeness of Others storytelling stage show to the Mabel. Delivering hilarious, often tender stories, his auto-biographical tales are as enchanting as they are true to life: hopping freight trains, getting hit by lightning, performing his banned play in Czechoslovakia, growing up in Minnesota, and eating things before knowing what they are. $23-$30
