The idea behind this café is giving coffee its rightful place in fine dining.Manager Julien Latil has been a «barista» for almost 3 years after converting to the world of premium coffee and turning his hobby into a career. The coffee lover perfected his skills with lots of training including with Ludovic Loizon (two-time French barista champion). All the coffee is specially roasted by La Brûlerie Belleville in Paris. The coffee is grown, harvested, produced, transported and roasted in homage to the work put in by the producer countries.
2 BAR ROUX D’HEURE
HOME FROM HOME BRUNCH
Sébastien Tomasi, nicknamed “the redhead”, has just opened this cosy spot in Annecy. He only uses organic and/or local produce. All his pastries are «homemade». Mismatched chairs, tasteful decoration and a warm welcome. 100% Arabica and 100% fairtrade coffee. This is the perfect place for a snack. It also serves wine, beer and a range of tasting platters. Brunch menu (16 euros): milk, mocha, fresh orange juice, cookies, baguette with butter and jam, egg muffin, tomato and basil cake and fruit salad.

The coffee is hand-picked then carefully sorted and dried. It is then roasted to bring out the aromatic features of the beans and not leave a bitter taste. If you’re not a coffee fan, Julien serves hot chocolate using cocoa from chocolatier Bruno Meyer, Patrick Font fruit juice and CHA YUAN teas and herbal teas. Salad bar at lunchtime.

They only use local seasonal produce. They strive to share their passion for wine and highlight their relationships with wine makers. On the menu: Fera sandwich, red cabbage, ginger or duck tartare, black garlic, beetroot Dishes change every fortnight.Open for breakfast.

SOSH BIG AIR NEW Skiing’s big comeback isn’t happening on the slopes but at an altitude of 450m in Annecy centre. Sosh Big Air kicks off the winter 2016/17’s freestyle ski competition calendar. The 2-day event sees the world’s top 20 riders slip on their twin-tip skis to take on the Sosh Big Air kicker, an XXL pop-up structure that’s 42m high (the equivalent of a 16-storey building). A real ski piste in the heart of the city centre. It requires 1500m3 of snow made using an eco-friendly manufacturing process (made exclusively from water, air and liquid nitrogen with no added chemicals).
