The Wonderful Worlds of Disney Parks
The Wonderful Worlds of Disney Parks provides the opportunity to many families around the country to experience popular attractions from around the world. When one of Disney’s attractions comes to your local arena or civic center, you will find a mini-land based on one attraction including some key features found in Disney parks. These include an abbreviated version of the attraction, primarily utilizing an adapted, reusable, trackless ride vehicle, a themed restaurant, themed show, themed Mickey & Minnie meet and greet, and, of course, a themed merchandise location. All of these aspects will contribute to expanding and telling the story of the attraction in a new way that previously couldn’t have been explored in the parks, creating a unique treat for those fans who frequent the parks and an engaging experience for first timers. Another opportunity these attractions offer is a medium for Imagineering to play test new technologies, story ideas, and more in a public setting before creating a permanent version in the parks. For our presentation, we chose to show how a fan favorite attraction, the Haunted Mansion, could be adapted to the previously stated parameters. There is to be an expected team of 125 people to help set up, run and maintain the attraction on the road, which is a little more than what Disney on Ice uses in their traveling shows. New construction methods like carbon fiber construction technology would be utilized to minimize the space and weight of the structures and sets and allow them to be quickly set up. These experiences should take 2- 3 hours to explore and will cater to people of varying levels of Disney park familiarity.

Story behind the design
For decades, the Disney company used the television show ‘The Wonderful World of Disney’ to bring the magic of Disney feature films into the homes of families. On Sunday nights families across the country would gather together around their televisions and enjoy the magic of Disney. Many families didn’t have access hard copies of these films. Through the Wonderful Worlds of Disney Parks the magic of Disney is going to spread to families in a new way. This attraction will give guests, who otherwise couldn’t, an opportunity to experience the magic of Disney in their hometown.
When guests enter one of the Wonderful Worlds of Disney Parks' attractions they delve into a new world, area music gets them into the mood, and the level of detail completes the immersion. In most of these attractions, you will first have the opportunity to see a show related to the featured attraction or meet Mickey and Minnie in themed costume and a themed environment. If they are able to resist the attraction this long, the guest will experience the star of the show, a unique version of a favorite Disney attraction. After a memorable time, many guests will finish their experience visiting a uniquely themed dining experience and topping off the day by taking home a piece of the magic from the gift shop.
