YOUNG ARTISTS SHOWCASE. Held in the Fall, this noncompetitive event in recital format features student instrumentalists of all ages and abilities perform solo or ensemble pieces before an adjudicator. Memorization is not required but encouraged.

To promote community involvement and participation, CAPMT San Diego South offers numerous music programs and events all year round for students and teachers. These programs
are aimed to enrich the musical lives of students, performers and music professionals.
POPULAR MUSIC & CONTEMPORARY MUSIC FESTIVAL. This festival in recital format gives a chance for all student instrumentalists and vocalists to perform in a non- competitive setting. Repertoire includes pop, jazz, blues, rags, rock, Disney tunes,musicals , movie themes and 21st contemporary pieces.
YOUNG PERFORMERS COMPETITION. Held in May, this adjudicated event invites music & dance students to compete by age category. All styles and musical genre are allowed. Students can join multiple divisions (keyboard, strings,voice, dance, wood winds) either as a soloist or part of an ensemble or orchestra. Awards include 1st, 2nd, 3rd places and honorable mention. Winners are featured in the Honors Recital and Gala.
SUMMER CAMPS. To inspire creativity and continued learning during the summer break, weeklong fun and immersive activities are offered in July-August . Topics may include music theory, performance preparations, improvisation classes, master classes, composition, ensemble playing, among others.

HONORS RECITAL & GALA. This culminating activity of the year celebrates the musical achievements of award-winning students who participated in the various local, state and national programs the chapter offers from Fall to Spring of each year. Senior graduating students are also featured.
WINE & CHEESE RECITAL. Adult learners, along with their teachers, are feted and featured in a friendly recital at the beginning of the year.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS. Monetary awards are given to deserving and qualified high school seniors.
PRIMAVERA FESTIVAL/ MTNA STUDIO FESTIVAL/WINTER FESTIVAL/. Performance opportunities are offered all-year long to all motivated music students of San Diego county. Each festival is theme-inspired, and ratings are awarded to all performers. Students who get unanimous superior can get a chance to be invited to the Honors Recital and Gala.MTNA Competitions & Programs. Visit
