Dual AdvisingUnfortunately, the completion of an associate’s degree does not

automatically guarantee that all general education requirements needed

at Wichita State have been met. By taking advantage of WSU’s dual

advising program you can avoid facing unforeseen hurdles and streamline

your transition into becoming a Shocker and achieving your academic goals.

Through dual advising, you can:

• Develop a relationship with a WSU advisor who can answer

program-specific questions

• Create a course of study that is appropriate to your academic goals

• Reduce unnecessary enrollments—saving time and money

• Receive up-to-date information on deadlines, scholarships and financial

aid, curriculum changes and more

• Get an inside look at resources available at WSU

• Have the opportunity to meet WSU faculty before you enroll

Have a question on what classes to take or what you need to do to complete

your enrollment? Use the contact information below to speak to an advisor.

1» Go online to wichita.edu/dualadvising and complete

a dual advising form.

2» Call or email your WSU advisor once you have received

a signed copy of your dual advising form to schedule

an appointment.

3» Meet with both your community college advisor and

COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS: Specific General Education courses may be required by individual colleges or programs. Academic advising is an important part of a student's

undergraduate experience. Students should meet with an advisor in the college of their major before registering for classes each semester.

These advisors will help students understand the undergraduate experience at WSU and assist in selecting classes that meet the students'

needs and the requirements for the degree and major.
