Celebrating over 35 Years!

The Virginia Ship Repair Association conducts outreach, awareness and advocacy activities that strengthen the ship repair industry and improves the business environment for its members. These efforts help maintain relationships with elected officials, primary defense clients, media and regional community leaders, while also strengthening the member network. Many of our industry focused projects provide member companies with opportunities to feature their leadership role in the industry and expand their footprint through sponsorships. This package was developed to give member companies an early sponsorship choice of the activities that best match their own mar-keting goals. The package is divided into two sections, sponsorships for the Virginia Ship Repair Association and sponsorships for activities conducted by the Virginia Ship Repair Foundation. In addition, the site provides a por-tal to QA Audits and houses records of the activities conducted by the eight VSRA committees. In addition, the website includes an integrated industry job board, tools for determining workforce demand and turnover metrics and the On-line Training portal. VSRA hosts professional seminars each year in specialized topics. These seminars provide both an opportunity for employees to earn professional training credit hours, as well as network with their peers in the industry. The seminars are highly rated by attendees, and the content is developed by subject leaders experts from the industry. August 2015 The VSRA Golf Tournament is played at the Bayville Golf Course and is a highly attended event. Teams sign-up early and there is always a waiting list. Team slots are reserved for sponsors for a short period, so sponsorship is the best way to ensure your position on the greens.

March and April 2015 The LEGO competition is builds awareness of the job opportunities available to our emerging workforce and connects STEM education to the ship repair industry. Students use LEGO CAD software to build a ship or ship’s component and then presents a written paper and Power Point demonstration of their project and associated trade occupations. VSRF 9th ANNUAL TRADESMEN OF THE YEAR AWARD

May 2015 VSRF established the Tradesmen of the Year Award in 2006. Each year we receive numerous nominations in two categories to determine the winners for the year. The Junior awardee has less than 5 years experience in a trade field, the Senior 5 years or more in trade experience.

April 18, 2015—tentative Ship Repairers are an inventive and creative group of people and this compe-tition brings out the best of the best! “The Yard” event exposes our industry to tens of thousands of people every year and is held at Scott’s Creek Marina.

Gold: $1500.00 Sponsor logo presented on the banners on the VSRA website home page and event listing, and receives mention in radio ads (FM99) for one month prior.

May 9th 2015 Ship Repair is a vital part of our regional economy, and this event markets our industry to tens of thousands of people every year. In addition, many of our member companies support cars in the race, or have employees who work on pit crews or race teams. Sponsors of this event receive access to presenting awards, radio credits, skybox seats and vendor space. Plus, all season long, VSRA is promoted on billboards, banners and the raceway marketing.
