January 2015• Jamila Johnson joins Tabor’s board as
the new Government Affairs Chair.
• Tabor members attend Gov. Inslee’s Climate Tour meeting to discuss environmental issues and the minority community.
• Puget Sound Energy Foundation presents Tabor with a $7,000 check to fund the Green Energy Scholarship Program.
• Gov. Inslee announced Jan. 19-24th as “Minority and Women-owned Business Week.

• Steve Lee from the Mayor’s Office introduced Javier Valdez as the new Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor on WMBE Programs.

March 2015• Tabor members Leslie Jones and Alexis
Oliver were recognized by the Seattle Medium Newspaper as two of “50 Community Women Trailblazers and Role Models for Equal and Civil Rights”.
• Congressman Denny Heck (D-Olympia), invited Tabor to meet with Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator of the National Small Business Administration.
• For the 13th year, Tabor participated in the biggest ever Regional Contracting Forum.

April 2015• Lisa Tompkins Sa’Adeh becomes
Tabor’s Membership Chair.
• Tabor offers members two memberships for the price of one: Tabor 100 and the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
• Our newsletter featured a "get politically involved" piece on the new District Elections in Seattle.
• The Government Affairs Committee met and planned the largest attended candidate forum to date hosted by Tabor.

May 2015• Tabor hosts a “Meet the Candidates”
meeting with Lorena Gonzales, Brianna Thomas, Pamela Banks, Michael Maddux, and David Trotter.
• Yemaya Hall-Ruiz is Tabor 100’s new Economic Development Chair.
• Tabor 100 featured the launch of "The State of Black Washington," the most comprehensive and insightful study on Blacks in Washington State. This publication confirmed the need for organizations like Tabor.
• Tabor 100 Remembered Elson Floyd, a leader in our community and former Washington State University President.

• Tabor co-hosts School Board Candidate Forum with Excellent Schools Now, Seattle Association of Black School Educators, the League of Education Voters and the Seattle Chapter of the A. Phillip Randolph Institute.
• Sharlene Spencer becomes Tabor’s new Membership Chair.
• Tabor participates in the Minority Business Policy Workshop along with NAMC, Minority Business Advisory Council, and WA State Office of Minority & Women’s Business Entrepreneurs.
• Tabor participated in the Northwest Minority Business Expo.
• City Council Forum.

October 2015• At our 16th Annual Gala, Tabor
recognized: Joni Earl, Mayor Ed Murray, Lance Randall, Lyle Quasim, Erin Jones, Calvin Saunders, Lydig Construction, and Nate Miles.
• Anthony Burnett is Tabor’s new Business Development Chair.
• Tabor hosted the largest panel of “Meet the Candidates” yet with 15 candidates.
• Governor Inslee recently met with the Tabor 100 Board and Tabor members Leslie Jones, Nancy Locke and Dr. William Bradford, to discuss state government contracting with minority firms.
