2015 Guidelines to Coordinators and Principals The Mercantil Commercebank ZoolensSM Photography Project is a photography competition open to all Middle School students attending a public or private school in Miami-Dade County during the 2015-2016 school year. According to Miami-Dade County Public Schools and participating private school protocol, teachers may submit entries to Mercantil Commercebank’s ZoolensSM Photography Project on behalf of their students, based on the guidelines below. Students may also bring their entries to any Mercantil Commercebank banking center. A panel of expert judges, chosen by Mercantil Commercebank, will select three final winners and 10 honorable mention winning entries. (Top three winners and their schools will receive prizes. Honorable Mention winners will receive prizes as well.) GUIDELINES: 1) All photos must be taken at Zoo Miami using the student’s own or a borrowed camera. Free student admission passes to Zoo Miami (valid October 1, 2015 through October 31, 2015) are included in this packet. 2) All photos must include at least one animal. 3) All photos must be the original work of the student. No reproductions of existing photos, copyrighted materials, or the work of others may be submitted. 4) Students must create a title for their photo that reflects the artistic composition of the subject matter. 5) All entries must be accompanied by a signed Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form. (Forms are included in this packet and are available at www.zoolens.com.). The form transfers all rights in and to the submitted photos, including ownership and copyrights, to Mercantil Commercebank. The photos shall become the property of Mercantil Commercebank upon submission, to be used in such manner and for such purpose as the Bank deems appropriate. 6) Schools may choose to submit photos on behalf of students, or students may submit their photo entry into the Contest by bringing it to any Mercantil Commercebank banking center. 7) No more than one entry per student. 8) Photos may be entered into the Contest in one of four ways:

a. The preferred method to submit photos is via email. Each entry must be submitted in a separate email message to: zoolens@krepspr.com. The email message must contain the title of the photo and the following attachments: 1) the photo 2) the Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form.

b. Photo Contest entries may be submitted on a CD. The CD must include the name of the student and the title of the photo. The CD must be accompanied by a Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form.

c. Photo Contest entries may be submitted on a flash drive. There must be a file on the flash drive with the name of the student and title of the photo. The flash drive must be accompanied by a Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form.

d. Entries submitted on a CD or flash drive may be dropped off at any Mercantil Commercebank banking center (visit www.mercantilcb.com for a list of locations).

9) The deadline to enter photos into the Mercantil Commercebank ZoolensSM Photography Project Contest is 5 p.m. EST on Monday, November 2, 2015.

All photos that meet the guidelines above will be assigned an arbitrary ID for judging. The Mercantil Commercebank ZoolensSM Photography Project judging committee and the expert panel of judges will judge the submissions based upon the following criteria: • Artistic merit: artistic skill • Technical merit: technical photography skill • Composition: an animal must be clearly visible • Title: how well the title captures the essence of the photo Please ensure that students, parents and teachers understand that once a photo has been submitted to Mercantil Commercebank, it belongs to the Bank and will not be returned. Concurso Fotográfico Silvestre para Estudiantes de Secundaria El Proyecto Fotográfico ZoolensSM de Mercantil Commercebank es una competencia fotográfica disponible para todos los estudiantes de secundaria en el Condado de Miami-Dade durante el año escolar 2015-2016. Cada maestro podrá entregar las fotografías en nombre de los alumnos de acuerdo a las pautas del concurso. Los alumnos también podrán entregar sus fotografías en cualquier sucursal de Mercantil Commercebank. Un panel de jueces expertos, escogerá tres finalistas y diez fotografías con menciones de honor. (Los tres ganadores y sus escuelas recibirán premios así como también recibirán premios los ganadores con menciones de honor) PAUTAS DEL CONCURSO: 1) Todas las fotografías deberán ser tomadas en el Zoológico de Miami. Obtén de tu maestro o coordinador de tu escuela un pase de estudiante gratis para el Zoológico de Miami (válido desde el 1ro hasta el 31 de Octubre, de 2015) 2) Todas las fotografías deberán incluir al menos un animal del zoológico. 3) Todas las fotografías deberán ser el trabajo original del alumno.
