I want to thank you for your continued generosity and support of UConn Athletics. Your investment allows us to transform the lives of the more than 700 talented student-athletes who proudly represent our university on the fields of play, in the classroom and in the community.

Over the years, we have enjoyed tremendous success which has allowed UConn to establish itself as one of the nation’s premier universities, both athletically and academically. This success we have come to know and love would not be possible without the commitment of each and every person who bleeds blue.

As we look to our future, the need for private giving has never been greater. In the past decade alone, scholarship expenses have doubled. This year, we will provide our student-athletes with nearly $14 million in financial aid. In addition, UConn is committed to providing world-class facilities, the best academic support services and elite training and healthcare, which will allow us to continue attracting exceptional student-athletes.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field: Won the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championship finishing with 158 points to earn the win.

Men’s Basketball: Earned its fourth NCAA Championship in the past 15 years with a 60-54 victory over Kentucky.

Women’s Basketball: Made history by defeating Notre Dame 79-58 in the National Championship game to claim the program’s record breaking ninth NCAA Championship.

Of that, $14 million is returned to the University in the form of scholarships for our student-athletes. COST OF ATTENDANCEStarting in the 2015-16 academic year, UConn will offer student-athletes enhanced scholarships aimed at covering the full cost of attending college beyond the cost of tuition, fees, books and room and board. These stipends would cover expenses that meet the federal definition of “cost of attendance” such as academic-related supplies, transportation and other similar items.

UConn student-athletes on full athletic scholarships will receive full-cost-of-attendance scholarships. The stipend for each student-athlete will range from $3,000 to $4,000 and is estimated to cost the Division of Athletics an additional $1 million to $1.5 million dollars annually.

Although UConn is not required to provide full-cost-of-attendance scholarships, the Division of Athletics is committed to give our student-athletes everything that is permissible for them to achieve success academically and athletically.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RING DONORDISTRIBUTION POLICY In an effort to recognize continued generosity in support of the Division of Athletics, we are establishing a new policy for awarding National Championship rings. The policy attempts to acknowledge donors who have given at an extraordinary level, develop consistency in how rings are distributed, and respect the exclusivity of this team award.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RING POLICY - Beginning in 2015

• Any active donors with Lifetime Giving to Athletics of $1 million or more will receive two (2) complimentary rings

• Any active donor with Lifetime Giving to Athletics of $750,000 - $999,999 will receive one (1) complimentary ring with the option to purchase one (1) additional ring

• Any active donor with Lifetime Giving to the University of Connecticut of $5 million or more will receive two (2) complimentary rings

*The Division of Athletics reserves the right to review and make changes to the policy as it deems necessary.

PRIORITY POINT SYSTEM UConn Athletics uses the priority point system in an effort to fairly allocate seats to current donors. The system is designed to acknowledge both consistent annual giving (through retention of permanent points) and current year giving (through bonus points).

Points and/or season tickets may not be transferred from one person to another or from one account to another. Also, the University does not transfer points or tickets by virtue of wills. In the event of the death of an account holder or season ticket holder, the surviving spouse (the definition of spouse is consistent with applicable federal law) retains the points, providing that the surviving spouse is on the account at the time of death.

Annual pledges/donations earn three types of priority points: permanent points, bonus points (for non-football/basketball courtside seat donations), and membership points.

1 permanent point is earned for every $100 pledged/contributed to UConn Athletics. Permanent points are also awarded for football and basketball courtside seat donations. Permanent points accrue and are cumulative.

1 bonus point is earned for every $100 pledged/contributed to UConn Athletics. Bonus points are temporary points for the pledge year only (not cumulative). Bonus points are not awarded for football or basketball courtside seat donations. At the end of each pledge year (March 31), bonus points are removed from the donor account.

2 membership points are earned each pledge year (with a minimum annual donation of $100). Membership points accrue and are cumulative.

EXAMPLEA new member making a $5,000 pledge/donation in a pledge year, based on the priority point calculation formula:

$5,000 Pledge/Donation Yields:

• 50 permanent points• 50 bonus points (not for

football/basketball courtside seat donations)

• 2 membership points• 102 total priority points earned

for the pledge year; and• 52 points will carry forward into

the new pledge year.

PRIORITY SEATING

SEASON TICKETS To receive 2015-16 priority seating privileges, a commitment in support of UConn Athletics must be made according to priority deadlines — April 30 for football and June 30 — for basketball. Seating for all ticketed sports is allocated by current membership status and the use of the priority point system.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.UConnTickets.com or by calling the UConn Athletic Ticket Office at (860) 486-2724 or toll free (877)-AT-UCONN / (877) 288-2666.

POST SEASON TICKETSThe NCAA/conference provides a limited number of tickets to each participating institution for postseason events. Specific seat locations are determined by the NCAA/conference. UConn endeavors to accommodate as many donors as possible based on the number of tickets we receive from the NCAA/conference. Postseason ticket allocations to current members are by donor category, then by points within that category. You may order at any time during the reservation period for your donor category based on the guidelines below. Tickets will be distributed based on availability.

BASKETBALL

BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETSYou may order as many season tickets as desired. Assignment of seat locations takes place annually. However, the number of seats guaranteed together will be based on current donor level. Seating allocations will be determined by priority points.

BASKETBALL SEATING GUIDELINESIt is difficult to predetermine seat location, as it depends on the demand for season tickets and the desirability of sections.

Please review the point total seating charts for the 2014-15 basketball season listed on pages 16-19. These are the best indicators of the number of priority points that may be necessary for the 2015-16 season for current donors. Be reminded that while these numbers were accurate for the 2014-15 season, it is impossible to predict the projected point totals for specific seat locations. These are just estimated guidelines.

Season ticket holders may make special seating requests in writing on the appropriate ticket application; please detail your request and list preferences. We carefully review each request in the context of the priority point system; however, we cannot guarantee the ability to accommodate every request.

TRANSFORMING LIVESIn early 2014, the University of Connecticut embarked on updating its campus master plan to drive transformative change. The new Campus Master Plan is the vehicle that will drive this transformative change with an emphasis on excellence, community, inspiration and innovation.

Currently, major facilities for nearly every program exist on-site including track and field, lacrosse, soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, hockey and swimming and diving. WERTH FAMILY UCONN BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS CENTER In fall 2014, our brand-new Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center opened its doors. This 78,000-square-foot facility boasts practice gyms, locker rooms, and coaches offices, as well as study areas, video rooms, and sports medicine and strength training spaces for our men’s and women’s basketball teams.

You still have the ability to play a critical role in supporting UConn Basketball, as there is a need for additional funding to finish this project. The Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center is the first building at UConn to be financed entirely by private donations and currently, $33.5 million dollars has been committed towards the $40 million dollar goal. By supporting the Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center you will be part of two programs which are synonymous with excellence.

Upon entering the Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center, the lobby will feature a display of NCAA trophies representing the four men’s championships and the nine women’s titles. On each side of the main lobby leading to the women’s and men’s practice areas, visitors are greeted by floor-to-ceiling images of two iconic Huskies representing each program – Maya Moore and Ray Allen.

As part of their gift, they put forth a challenge match of $1 million to all former men’s and women’s basketball players, managers and coaches as a way to inspire them to come together to support this project. As of February 2015, more than $200,000 has been committed towards the overall goal of $1 million.

THE RIZZA FAMILY SOCCER COMPLEXFormer UConn men’s soccer student-athlete Tony Rizza ’87 has committed a total of $8 million to transform the soccer complex and build a brand-new state-of-the-art soccer stadium on the Storrs campus.

As part of his commitment, $5 million is a challenge match to the entire UConn community to transform Morrone Stadium. UConn student-athletes rise to the challenge every day, both on the field and in the classroom. Help us rise to the challenge by creating a stadium that matches the success of the UConn soccer program.

The new facility will be built on the site of the current Joseph J. Morrone Stadium and will bear the same name. The future soccer complex, which will include a new stadium as well as the existing training grounds and practice field adjacent to the stadium, will be named the Rizza Family Soccer Complex in recognition of this transformative gift.

The Husky men’s and women’s soccer teams are perennial powerhouses in Division 1 soccer, and the teams draw large crowds to Morrone Stadium. The Husky men’s soccer team has won three national championships and the UConn women’s soccer team has appeared in the NCAA tournament in 29 of the past 33 years, with trips to two national championship games and seven national semifinals.

METHODS OF GIVINGGifts payable to the UConn Foundation, Inc. - Athletics will be deposited by the Foundation for the benefit of UConn Athletics and managed and invested by the UConn Foundation, Inc., (“The Foundation”). The UConn Foundation, Inc. is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and donations to the Foundation are deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent allowable by law. The tax benefit is received in the calendar year in which the donation is actually made. The receipt that the Foundation sends to all donors when a payment is paid will indicate the calendar date received for tax purposes.

Donations can be made by check, money order, or credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). Please note that donation checks must be made payable to UConn Foundation, Inc. – Athletics and cannot include money for tickets or events. Additionally, by law, once a donation is made, it cannot be refunded.

ESTATE & PLANNED GIFTS - There are a variety of ways to contribute to UConn Athletics through gift planning using appreciated assets, stocks, bonds, insurance policies, retirement plan assets and real estate. For additional information on planned gifts, please call (860) 486-3863. Please consult with your tax advisor. Planned gifts are not eligible to earn priority points.

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS - Gifts made from donor advised funds to support UConn Athletics are certainly welcomed. However, IRS regulations prohibit the use of donor advised funds for gifts that benefit the donor or any specific individual. Therefore, such gifts cannot be used to fulfill individual pledges and are not eligible for priority points or other donor benefits.

CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS - Matching gifts are only accepted from a bona fide employer(s) of the account holder(s). Gifts from friends or other relatives of a donor and/or spouse are not considered matching gifts to the donor/spouse account of record. To determine if your employer matches gifts to UConn Athletics, please contact your company’s human resources department as policies may vary from one company to another.

Please be aware that the employer establishes matching gift guidelines and reserves the right to modify them periodically. Therefore, your company’s matching gift policy may reflect something different now than in past years. The donor is responsible for ensuring that all matching gift funds arrive in a timely fashion. Matching gifts cannot be used to pay football or basketball courtside seat donations . SEASON TICKETS & SEAT DONATIONS - Donors to UConn Athletics, are entitled to receive preferred seating locations for season tickets purchased for football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s ice hockey, men’s basketball, or women’s basketball. The cost of tickets is not tax deductible. However, Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 170(l) provides that if a taxpayer makes a payment to or for the benefit of a university and, as a result, receives the right to purchase tickets for seating at an athletic event, he or she is eligible to deduct 80% of his or her contributions for federal tax purposes. In accordance with IRC Section 170(l), all donors who are entitled to purchase tickets with preferred seating and who do not request a waiver of points and benefits (explained below) may be eligible to deduct only 80% of their contribution for federal income tax purposes. Patrons making a seat donation will receive a receipt acknowledging the donation. Please consult your tax advisor.

OTHER BENEFITS - The Internal Revenue Code also addresses benefits (other than priority seating) that a donor may receive as a result of the contribution. A donor may only deduct the amount of a contribution that is more than the value of all benefits received. Car decals, newsletters, and other token items do not reduce the amount eligible for deduction for tax purposes; however, other goods or services a donor receives in consideration for donations, such as those described on pages 10-11, can further reduce deductibility of a gift. Please consult your tax advisor.

WAIVER OF POINTS AND BENEFITS In order to deduct 100% of a contribution to UConn Athletics, the donor must submit in writing a waiver of points and benefits at the time of making a pledge and/or contribution. In requesting a waiver of points and benefits, the donor further understands that he or she forfeits priority points and their application as it relates to ticket assignment and allocation; once points and benefits are forfeited, they cannot be credited retroactively to a donor’s account. Only through a waiver of points and benefits is a contribution eligible for 100% tax deduction.

SUBSTANTIATION REQUIREMENTS As required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the UConn Foundation, Inc. will furnish donors with receipts for contributions. Donors should retain their receipts for federal income tax purposes.
