Faz parte da nossa política ser transparente quanto ao que fazemos, como e com quem fazemos e quanto investimos para ver mais crianças, famílias e comunidades tendo oportunidades de desenvolver, da maneira mais plena possível, as suas potencialidades.

A Missão Aliança é uma organização missionária diaconal. O que vem a sua mente quando você ouve a palavra “diaconia”? Uma boa parte da igreja brasileira ainda associa diaconia a uma “atividade secundária”, quando a mesma é uma prática primordial, bíblica e histórica – parte integral tanto da “grande comissão” (ide), como do “grande mandamento” (amai).

Diaconia bíblica é uma prática libertadora que tem Jesus como modelo e exemplo. É muito mais que ação social. Tem a ver com estilo de vida recomendado por Cristo a todos os seus seguidores.

Diaconia é um termo usado para descrever o cuidado da Igreja por seus semelhantes. É o Evangelho em ação, expresso através do amor ao próximo, da comunhão inclusiva, do cuidado com a criação de Deus e da luta pela justiça.

We have an enormous satisfaction in sharing this anual report with you! It is part of our policy to be transparent towards what we do, how we do it and with whom we do it, as well as how we invest to make sure that more children, families and communities will be able to have new opportunities to develop, in the simplest and truer way possible, all of their potentialities.

Mission Alliance is a diaconal mission organization. What does come to your mind when you think about the word “diaconal”? A good amount of the Brazilian churches still associates deaconry as a “secondary activity”, even so this has the same primordial practice, biblically and historically - as an integral mission from the great commission (go), as well as the greatest commandment (love).

Biblical deaconry is a freedom practice that has Jesus as the model and exemple. It is so much more than social actions. It goes with the life style that that Christ recommends to all of His followers.

Deaconry is a term used to describe Churches’ cares to all of its equals. It is the Gospel in action, expressed through the love towards others, the inclusive fellowship, the care towards God’s creation and the fight for justice!

Autorizada a atuar no Brasil em 2004 por meio da Portaria nº 2.584 do Ministério da Justiça. Apoiamos, por meio de entidades parceiras, programas e projetos que têm como prioridade crianças e adolescentes que vivem em comunidades empobrecidas e em situação de vulnerabilidade.

The Mission Alliance is an independent and diaconal mission organization which started in 1901 in Oslo (Norway) and its present in 8 countries. The Mission Alliance was authorized to operate in Brazil in 2004 through the Ordinance No. 2584 of the Ministry of Justice. Mantivemos a estratégia de trabalhar através de uma rede de parceiros e aliados que se relacionam diretamente com famílias que vivem em situação de pobreza na periferia de sete cidades, em três estados das regiões sul e sudeste do país.

Todos os nossos acordos de mútua cooperação incluem uma instituição que, no Brasil, tem duas características importantes quando pensamos em ações de resgate da dignidade humana e reconstrução da coesão social entre os pobres: capilaridade e permanência por longo tempo. Falamos da Igreja. Ela entra nas áreas mais pobres e violentas - onde nem o Estado entra - e muito dificilmente alguém impedirá a continuidade dos seus trabalhos por décadas.

Em 2014, firmamos novas parcerias e ampliamos nossa rede de relacionamentos com entidades de base cristã que percebem que a pobreza e a injustiça estão, com grande frequência, associadas a experiências traumáticas, que não só destroem a base material, como também abalam o fundamento emocional, intelectual, espiritual e social da pessoa atingida, especialmente das mais vulneráveis entre os pobres do Brasil: as crianças e as mulheres.

Mantivemos o nosso compromisso como organização missionária diaconal, que existe para dar uma oportunidade à vida, demonstrar o amor de Deus por meio de palavras e ações e lutar por um mundo mais justo, livre e igual.

We have kept the strategy to work through a partner and allies’ networking process, that were able to relate directly towards the families that live in a poverty situations within the suburbs around seven cities, in three different states over the south and southeast region of Brazil.

All of our mutual cooperation agreements include an institution that, in Brazil, has two important characteristics when we think of redemption of shares of human dignity and reconstruction of social cohesion among the poor: capillarity and an assurance for a long time permanence. We talk about the Church. It enters the poorest and most violent areas - where neither the State enters - and hardly anyone will prevent the continuation of their work for decades.

In 2014, we got into new partnerships and expanded our network of relationships with Christian grassroots bodies who realize that poverty and injustice are, very often, associated with traumatic experiences that not only destroy the material basis, but also undermine the emotional, intellectual, spiritual and social foundation of those people affected, especially the most vulnerable among the poor in Brazil: children and women.

We have kept our commitment as a diaconal missionary organization, which exists to give opportunity to life, to show God’s love by using words and actions, and to fight for a just, free and equal world.

EDUCAÇÃO INTEGRAL DE CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES | INTEGRAL EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS WITH CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS.

Por uma questão de sobrevivência, muitos pais são obrigados a deixar os seus filhos pequenos em casa para ir ao trabalho. Os com idade acima de seis anos, em um período vão à escola, no outro ficam completamente sujeitos a diversas formas de abuso e

exploração num contexto marcado pela violência e tráfico de drogas.

Apoiamos a criação de oportunidades de um lugar seguro para mais de 700 crianças. No período que estão fora da escola, são oferecidas atividades lúdicas e pedagógicas de incentivo à leitura, socialização, resolução de conflitos, educação de valores e fortalecimento do protagonismo infanto-juvenil. Além disso, recebem alimentação e orientação em cuidados básicos de higiene e saúde bucal.

As a matter of survival, many parents are forced to leave their small children at home to go to work. The children over the age of six years go to school only at one period of the day (morning or afternoon), and within the other period, they are completely subjected to various forms of abuse and exploitation in a context marked by violence and drug trafficking.

We support the creation of opportunities for a safe place for more than 700 children. During the period that they are out of school, we offer recreational and educational activities to encourage reading, socializing, conflict resolution, educational values and strengthening children and youth leadership. In addition, they receive food and guidance on basic oral health hygiene.

EDUCAÇÃO PARA CONSERVAÇÃO DO MEIO AMBIENTE | CONSERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION

O apoio a experiência de educação não-formal, através da proposta pedagógica do escotismo, foi ampliada para duas outras cidades: Almirante Tamandaré, região de Curitiba e Diadema, na grande São Paulo. O desafio era incluir crianças e adolescentes em situação de pobreza num movimento que normalmente contempla a participação de crianças com maior poder econômico. Em 2014 criamos a oportunidade para 320 crianças e adolescentes terem acesso a um programa educativo que inclui vivência de fé, crescimento saudável, autodesenvolvimento, serviço ao próximo e participação na sociedade.

Se a ação é integral, precisa incluir as mulheres. Junto com as crianças, elas são as mais vulneráveis entre os pobres. Apoiamos projetos que visam capacitar e fortalecer dois grupos produtivos de mulheres com o objetivo de aumentar a sua capacidade empreendedora e, consequentemente, sua renda familiar. Essas mulheres são mães de crianças representativas que vivem na favela São Remo (São Paulo) e na favela Boracéia (Carapicuíba).

Após o processo de sensibilização e capacitação para o desenvolvimento de projetos socioambientais, realizado em parceria com A Rocha Brasil, nasceram sete novas ações entre os nossos parceiros envolvendo igrejas, associações de moradores, crianças e famílias:

- Manejo de resíduos sólidos e hortas na favela São Remo (Projeto Girassol)

- Horta em pequenos espaços (Projeto Flauta Doce)

- Separação adequada do lixo na escola e em casa (Projeto Sertãozinho)

- Jardim comunitário Boracéia (Projeto Boracéia)- Agricultura urbana (Espaço Com Viver – Capão

Redondo)- Compostagem e pequenas hortas (Missão

Morro do Meio)- Cuidando do nosso bairro (Projeto Ecos na

Comunidade)

Support for non-formal education experience,, through the educational proposal of Scouting, was expanded to two other cities: Almirante Tamandaré, outskirts of Curitiba and Diadema, in greater São Paulo. The challenge was to include children and adolescents in poverty in a movement that usually includes the participation of children with greater economical power. In 2014 we created the opportunity for 320 children and adolescents to have access to an educational program that includes experience of faith, healthy growth, self-development, service to others and a real participation in society.

If action is integral, must include women. Together with children, women are the most vulnerable when in poverty. We support projects that seek to guide and strengthen two productive groups of women aiming to increase their entrepreneurial capacity and consequently their family income. These women are mothers of representing children living in São Remo favela (São Paulo) and Boracéia (Carapicuíba).

After the awareness and capacitating process for the development of socio-environmental projects, made together with A Rocha Brasil, seven new action fronts were created between our partners together with churches, neighborhood associations, children and families:

- Solid waste management and gardens within the São Remo favela (Projeto Girassol)

- Gardening in small spaces (Projeto Flauta Doce)- Correct trash separation and recycling within

Através dos projetos Girassol, Pé no Chão e Ecos na Comunidade, cerca de 350 crianças e adolescentes tiveram acesso à prática esportiva supervisionada nas modalidades de futebol, karatê, tênis de mesa, vôlei, basquete, handball e surf.

Through the Girassol, Pé no Chão and Ecos na Comunidade Projects, around 350 children and teenagers have had the access to supervised sport practice in the following activities: football, karate, ping-pong, volleyball, basketball, handball and surfing.

A Missão Aliança no Brasil tem ampliado a sua relação de cooperação com igrejas locais de diferentes regiões e denominações.

Cremos que a responsabilidade social cristã só se torna uma realidade quando temos cristãos socialmente responsáveis. Para que isso aconteça é imprescindível que haja ensino bíblico claro, relevante e prático a respeito da integralidade do Evangelho e da missão da igreja. No ano de 2014 aceitamos os convites para ministrar em diversos encontros com esse propósito.

Mission Alliance in Brazil has expanded its cooperative relationship with local churches of different denominations and regions.

We believe that Christian social responsibility only becomes a reality when we work with socially responsible Christians. In order for this to happen it is essential that there is a clear, relevant and practical Biblical teaching about the whole Gospel and the Christian’s mission. In 2014 we accepted invitations to teach in several meetings with this purpose of showing God’s will for Christianity.

Apoiamos a criação de uma cartilha sobre cristianismo e participação política. Intitulada “Os evangélicos e a transformação social”, a obra procura disseminar uma cultura cidadã entre as igrejas brasileiras. “A Missão Aliança foi a primeira organização a confirmar apoio a este projeto, isso

nos encorajou a acreditar na sua viabilidade”, afirmou Wilson Costa, diretor executivo da Aliança Cristã Evangélica Brasileira. Foram impressos e distribuídos 15 mil exemplares e o conteúdo também está disponível como e-book.

Parte da nossa missão é construir pontes e fortalecer os vínculos entre igrejas de diferentes denominações que se unem por seu compromisso com o Reino de Deus e com o trabalho diaconal. No mês de outubro reunimos 50 pessoas da nossa rede de parceiros e, além de tempo para comunhão e celebração, refletimos sobre o tema “A missão da igreja na cidade: agir com misericórdia, promover a paz e dar uma chance à vida”.

Atuamos num pequeno grupo de trabalho sobre meio ambiente da Rede Evangélica Paranaense de Ação Social. Considerando que todos os dias cerca de 200 mil toneladas de lixo são coletadas nas casas dos brasileiros e que, mais da metade é resíduo orgânico que segue para os aterros sanitários ou se espalham pelos lixões ainda existentes no país... Este pequeno grupo de cristãos pensou que igrejas poderiam ser agentes replicadores de boas práticas nas áreas de compostagem e cultivo de hortaliças sem agrotóxicos em pequenos espaços.

Nasceu assim o projeto “Semeando em Terra Boa” - uma ação simples, que pode transformar espaços ociosos que as igrejas já possuem, em jardins de alimentos – a produção pode ser partilhada com membros e vizinhos, servindo de inspiração para a comunidade. Um dia, quem sabe, brota uma rede de igrejas que tem o que falar e o que mostrar em matéria de gestão responsável de resíduos orgânicos e agricultura urbana. A iniciativa está em fase de projeto piloto em duas igrejas na periferia de Curitiba.

We support the creation of a booklet on Christianity and political participation. Entitled “Evangelicals and social transformation” the work seeks to disseminate a civic culture among Brazilian churches. “The Mission Alliance was the first organization to confirm support of this project, and this encouraged us to believe of its viability,” said Wilson Costa, executive director of the Brazilian Evangelical Christian Alliance. There were printed and distributed 15,000 copies and the content is also available as e-book.

Part of our mission is to build bridges and strengthen the ties between the churches of different denominations that can be united on their commitment with the Kingdom of God and their diaconal work. In October we have reunited 50 people from our partnership network and, besides that, we had time to enjoy fellowship and celebrate. We reflected on the theme: “The mission of the church in the city: act with mercy, promote peace and give life a new chance”.

We operate in a small working group on the environment of the Evangelical Social Action Network of Paraná. Whereas every day about 200 tons of garbage are collected in the Brazilian homes and more than half of it is organic waste that goes to landfills or are spread through the remaining landfills in the country... This small group of Christians thought that churches could be replicating agents of good practice in the areas of composting and growing vegetables without pesticides in small spaces.

Thus was born the project “Semeando em Terra Boa” (Sowing in Good land) - a simple action that can transform empty spaces that churches already have in food gardens – the production can be shared with members and neighbors, serving as inspiration for the community. One day, perhaps, it can sprout a network of churches that has things to say and what to show and do in the responsible management of organic waste and urban agriculture. The initiative is in the pilot project phase in two churches on the outskirts of Curitiba.

CONFERÊNCIA DE LÍDERES | CONGRESS OF MISSIONS

Apoiamos a Associação dos Líderes Evangélicos de Felipe Camarão (ALEF) na realização do Congresso de Missão Integral na região Nordeste do Brasil, cujo tema foi: “A igreja e sua missão transformadora” – o encontro teve como principal conferencista o teólogo peruano Pedro Arana. O evento capacitou, encorajou e conectou mais de 400 líderes que servem em cerca de 150 igrejas locais e organizações sociais em dez estados das regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil.

Participamos da construção de uma ferramenta de capacitação de educadores para atuar na área de prevenção contra as diversas formas de abuso e exploração de crianças e adolescentes no Brasil. A cartilha do Projeto José faz parte de uma estratégia maior que visa incentivar as entidades que atuam com crianças a elaborar a sua política interna de prevenção ao abuso de crianças.

Produzimos 1.000 cartilhas e a proposta nasceu a partir do movimento nacional contra a exploração sexual de crianças e adolescentes no período da Copa do Mundo de Futebol – Campanha Bola na Rede. A distribuição da cartilha é gratuita, mas está atrelada ao compromisso de igrejas e organizações locais participarem do processo de capacitação para aplicação da metodologia.

Na Copa do Mundo a seleção brasileira foi um fracasso, mas a Campanha Bola na Rede foi um sucesso! Através da Rede Evangélica Nacional de Ação Social (RENAS), da qual a Missão Aliança é filiada, foram desenvolvidas 210 ações de sensibilização, oração, denúncia e promoção de espaços seguros nas 12 cidades onde houve jogos. Quase 700 voluntários (40% crianças e adolescentes!) abordaram 40 mil brasileiros e turistas com a seguinte mensagem: “Exploração sexual de crianças e adolescentes é crime. We supported the Associação dos Líderes Evangélicos de Felipe Camarão (ALEF) in the realization of a Mission Integral Congress in the Northeast region of Brazil, in which the theme was” “The church and its transformative mission” - the meeting had as the main speaker the Peruvian theologian Pedro Arana. The event capacitated, encouraged and connected more then 400 leaders that serve around 150 local churches and social organization, in 10 states of North and Northeast region of Brazil.

We participated on the construction of a new tool for capacitating educators to act within the areas of prevention of many kinds of abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents in Brazil. The “Projeto José” booklet exists as a part of a bigger strategy that looks to incentive the entities that work with children to elaborate their internal politics as means to prevention children abuse.

We have made 1000 booklets and this proposal was born within a national movement against sexual exploitation of children and teenagers during the World Cup period – Bola na Rede Campaign. Their distribution is free, but it is connected to the churches’ commitment and local organization to be part of the capacitating process to apply this methodology.

During the World Cup the Brazilian team was a disaster, but the campaign Bola na Rede was a success! Through the Evangelical Network of Social Action (RENAS), of which Mission Alliance

is affiliated, it was developed 210 awareness actions, prayer, complaint and promotion of safe spaces within the 12 cities in which the games occurred. Almost 700 volunteers (40% were children and teenagers!) approached 40 thousand Brazilians and tourists with the following message: “Sexual exploitation of

children and teenagers is a crime! If you see anything slightly suspect, report it!”. It was given a booklet about the campaign, with the phone number of the National Agency of Human Rights so they could report anything they knew.
