Anna Hatlestad, Medina Elementary

“The Beecher’s Pure Food Kids Workshop is engaging and hands-on. It teaches students how to be informed consumers. They learn

about unhealthy hidden ingredients in some of their favorite foods, they learn to

recognize marketing tactics, and they learn about healthier alternatives. The workshop is

teaching our students to make better, healthier food choices.“

“He became more interested in grocery shopping (choosing

products together) and wanted to participate in cooking.”

Kyle Chew, 4th Grade Parent

“We make the healthy vegetable chili as a family favorite. We started

reading labels more and growing our own vegetable garden.”

Karen Watkins, 4th Grade Parent

“It is one of the most important lessons the students get regarding foods. It makes a huge impact on them and

they have definitely influenced their parents’ purchases.”
