Leadership In TrainingThe Leadership-In-Training (LIT) program is designed for mature and enthusiastic teens who are looking to develop their leadership skills. This week long training will consist of fundamentals and techniques needed to be a leader/role model. LIT’s will learn how to teach arts & crafts, lead songs & games, prepare snacks, and present themselves professionally. Additionally, LIT’s will be CPR trained and certified during this week. This program provides an excellent foundation in developing leadership skills, responsibility, and self-esteem. A fun group field trip to Ragin Waters will take place on Friday! Following the completion of training, LIT’s will assist the Recreation Leaders throughout the summer to gain more leadership experience. All students who sign up for this program are guaranteed volunteer hours throughout the summer. This experience will count toward community service hours. Any volunteer who wishes to work with the Recreation Department during the summer months, are required to register in the LIT program.
