EPDSAll of the EPDs printed in this catalog are the latest available. The average EPDs for the Simbrah breed are as follows:

Ave. EPDs:

CE BW WW YW MCE MM MWW API TI2.4 3.8 62.4 84.2 6.8 22.1 53.2 68.8 52.1

GLOSSARYAll-purpose Index (API): Evaluates sires for use on the entire cow herd (bred to both Angus first–calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield.Terminal Index (TI): Evaluates sire for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield.Using API and TI: First, determine which index to use; if you’re keeping replace-ments use API, if not, TI. Then just as with EPDs zero in on the unit difference between the bulls. The difference can be used to determine how much a bull is worth compared to another. Or, put another way, how much you can pay for one bull compared to another. For example, when buying an all-purpose-type sire, you can quickly figure a bull scoring +100 for API is worth an extra $6,000 over a +50 bull if both are exposed to 30 cows over 4 years ($50 diff. x 30 hd. X 4 yr.=$6,000). A percentile-ranking chart is required to determine where a bull’s index value ranks him relative to other bulls in the breed. For percentile rankings or more detailed informa-tion about EPDs and $ indexes visit www.simmental.org.

PARTNERSHIP LOTSIn the case of bull partnership lots, the new partner will have first choice to decide what 60 days they will be able to breed the bull. All decisions relating to the posses-sion, showing, promotion, collecting of semen, and marketing will be mutually agreed upon prior to the transaction with both parties dividing all future expenses and net revenue.Female partnership lots will be owned 50/50 with all future production being co-owned. The partner with possession will receive $250 per year for maintenance from the other partner. A partner that is selling their interest must give the other partner the right to match any bona fide guaranteed offer prior to selling their interest to a third party. Contract on these lots will be available on sale day.

MCCRARY FARMS We are proud to mark our 15th year as Simbrah breeders and excited for Synergy VII! Mark and I continue working to improve the quality of our herd, by utilizing the best sire power the Simbrah and Simmental breeds have to offer. Our current herd includes sire genetics of Smith Evan, Smith Nu Approach, NF Smith Sargeant, Smith McCrary Andy, Smith McCrary Matt, Smith Isgrig Charismatic, and our new herd sire out of Matt, McCrary Smith Inspired. We are long time supporters of the junior program, and have been avid supporters and sponsors of many local FFA and 4-H programs. Our place is located in the northeast corner of Texas in the town of De Kalb, just a few miles from the Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana borders near Texarkana. Come see our cattle and now four grandchildren. We are proud to announce our new addition to our family, Elijah Joseph McCrary, born to Christopher and Coral. Christopher was why we initially purchased Simbrah. A special THANKS goes to Tim Smith, who has worked so hard to make all of this possible!

TRIPLE J RANCH The Triple J Ranch has been owned by the Tortorice family and has been breeding Simbrah cattle for over 25 years. Triple J has undergone a few changes. Jake and Amber have taken the reins and the largest part of the registered herd as part of their own operation,

Tortorici Ranch. Mary and Jake look forward to more free time for travel and grandchildren and less responsibility and farm work! We will continue to work together to produce quality animals as a family for years and generations to come. The past few years both our programs have been utilizing more embryo transfer and artificial insemination to capitalize on some of the most powerful animals in the breed. Through the careful guidance of Tim Smith, we have been adding quality genetics to our programs through sire power and proven cow families. The in-fluence of these powerful genetics on our herd has been incredible. We are excited about new females introduced to our program from She Moves, Priceless, Annie Lou, and Tulipe families. We strive to produce gentle, hardy cattle that are structurally correct, made to perform and built to last. Our herd continues to improve with every calf that hits the ground. We are pleased to present a beautiful re-flection of our combined herds to offer at this year’s Synergy Sale. We will have Rao’s coffee and breakfast at the show! Come see us!

TRIPLE P RANCH Once again it is with great pleasure that Triple “P” Ranch invites everyone to Synergy VII. We hope our offering will fit your program. We continue to improve our herd through some very selective breeding with a strong emphasis on AI and embryo transfer. We feel that we have put together a very appealing offering. As always our ranch door is always open. Stop by or give us a call to talk cattle or just to “shoot the bull.”

BARING CATTLE COMPANYAll of us at Baring Cattle Company want to welcome you to Synergy VII and all the activities associ-ated with this event. Our family has deep roots in agriculture and we are proud to

be the fourth and fifth generations to ranch in Texas. We are pleased with the cattle we have assembled in our herd and the predictability we are producing. We are located just outside of San Antonio, Texas at Elmendorf and we would love to have you visit us when you’re in the Alamo City.

HAGAN CATTLE COMPANY Cattle have always been a part of our lives as we are involved in the registered, commercial and sale barn segments of the beef cattle. Our registered program start-ed as an extension of our boys, Reinhard and Reese’s show projects. Our seed stock program has become synonymous with show ring champions and we believe our offering is our strongest yet, with many candidates headed to the winner’s circle. We are a family operation with Reese heading up the sale and show management for our purebred operation. All three generations of our family want to welcome you to the sale and thank you for your interest in Simbrah.

PINE RIDGE RANCH The history of Pine Ridge Ranch is an unusual story. After a decade in the ranch-ing business, Bill and Jane Travis decided to pursue the goal of breeding the most efficient hot weather cow with a quality carcass… in the world. A beef cow that would prosper in warm environments with very efficient use of resources, and that produced a heart healthy, juicy, flavorful and very tender meat. They designed a breeding formula with over 50 breeding characteristics that were used along with early adoption of technology and genetic science without the use of hormones that could help develop this cow. After 33 years, Pine Ridge Ranch has succeeded in developing an exceptional hot weather animal with an excellent quality carcass. Pine Ridge Ranch’s goal is 100% Choice, YG 1,2, and 3. We believe we have eliminated the YG 4, 5 carcass through genetic identification. In addition, the Pine Ridge carcass is very tender. In the 2012 Illinois Carcass Merit evaluation, which can be viewed on our website, calves sired by PRR bulls out-performed leading Angus genetics. Our program does not have any known genetic defects. A broad genetic base has been utilized with frequent introduction of worldwide genetics from fellow Simmental, Simbrah, Fleckvieh breeders to improve characteristics in the herd and harness the magic of heterosis. Internationally known for high quality Simbrah, Pine Ridge genetics can be found in many foreign countries such as South Africa, Mexico Central America, Australia and Columbia. Pine Ridge enjoys supporting junior exhibitors and the Texas Junior Simmental Simbrah Association every year. Many of our juniors have won Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at major shows. Pine Ridge Ranch is located in Athens, Texas with over 600 Simbrah for fellow breeders to study and purchase by private treaty. Please give us a call or schedule a visit; we would love to show you our exciting results and help you reach your program goals. Visit our website www.simbrah.com for more information on Pine Ridge Ranch. Welcome to all the new Synergy participants and we look forward to seeing everyone.

BURCH FARMS2014 has been a very good year at Burch Farms. We have been blessed with a lot of rain, which have our cat-tle in good shape and we are making a good hay crop. We have been blessed with good health and a wonderful set of grandkids, which is the

future of Burch Farms. Martha and I want to extend an invitation to join us at Synergy this year. We have a very good offering of Simbrah cattle with some of the best genetics in the breed. I want to thank Tim and Smith Genetics for asking us to be part of this won-derful sale and weekend. I have seen many of the cattle in the sale and I know there are some fine cattle that will be sold. I hope you can join us for this premier Simbrah event. We are located close to Hempstead Texas and we hope you will come by and visit if you are in the area. SEE YOU AT SYNERGY!

NIESCHWIETZ 7N RANCH Our roots in the Simmen-tal/Simbrah breeds trace back to 1977, when dad purchased Simmie heifers for us to show and then in 1978 we added some Sim-brah heifers. Mom and dad continued buying heifers for all five kids and one grandson to show and along the way we built a herd. We realized early on that Simbrah cattle excelled in South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley, as we have locations in Falls City and Donna, Texas, where were are also involved in produce farm-ing. 7N Ranch feels youth is important to the success of the breed and we support the youth programs of Falls County and the Valley, as well as the Simbrah breed. In the past few years, we have really stepped up our program by selecting females that carry some of the most proven lines in the breed and our bull power consists of Simply Great, Smooth Oper-ator, LMC Gumbo, and LMC WFC Wave Amigo. We are proud to be part of Synergy and want to thank Tim Smith for all he does for the Simbrah breed and the guidance he has provided our program.

SOUTHWESTERN FARMS The Hill family may be new to Simbrah, but they’ve been raising cattle commer-cially since 1972 in deep East Texas, near Kirbyville. The family operation is headed by Ray and Suzanne Hill, along with their two daughters and their families. They were introduced to Simbrah through a calf scramble certificate won by one of their granddaugh-ters.. That research led them to Smith Genetics and as they say the rest is history. They made purchases at Synergy IV-VI, including the donors, Oprah, Diva, Rita, Juliet and Black Mystic. They have also added the bull power of RFI Real Deal, Xtra Ordinary, and Blackfoot. This year, their granddaughter, Sophie Palmore showed Smith Wentz Diamond Diva to the 2014 International Grand Cham-pion title and they enjoy the family time that Simbrah provides. They are thrilled to be a participant in Synergy VII and want to extend a special thanks to Tim Smith for introducing them to the breed and helping them establishing a quality herd based on some of the most elite genetics in the breed.

REAVIS FARMSWe are a diversified family operation with Simbrahs, cotton, grain sorghum, onions and watermelons. We have been involved with Simbrahs since 1987 and are still excited about the breed. We have our best calves, yet, on the ground

from sires including Charismatic, Nu Wave II, Sargeant, Smith Evan, RFI Thunderstruck and Smith N Red. We continue to add donor power to our home raised RFI Smith Tinkerbell, the 2009 San Antonio Grand Champion and the 2009 AJSR Champion. Recent Reavis standouts include RFI Ritzy, the 2011 National Champion Female for Winston Walters; RFI Smith Fresh Approach, the 2011 National Reserve Grand Champion Female; RFI Real Deal, the 2014 ASA National and National at San Antonio. We are very proud of our offering for Synergy VII and extend and invitation to you to the fall event of the breed.

DIAMOND RF FARMS Diamond RF Farms is excited to participate in Syn-ergy once again and want to THANK everyone who will be attending the fun filled weekend at Smith Genetics. Thanks also to Tim Smith for hosting this event. We have had some recent changes in our location, earlier this year Richard II was transferred to San Antonio and we have moved from Wallis, Texas to Floresville, Texas. We have been in the cattle business for 13 years and we think we are making improvements each year to our herd. We are still under the direction of Richard III and with his guidance we are expecting calves from RFI Real Deal; Smith Satisfies and New Wave II this upcoming year. We would like to invite you to visit our new location if you are in area. Thank You again for showing an interest in Simbrah and Simmental cattle and look forward to visiting with each of you during Synergy VII.

HALLAK RANCHBilly Hallak first came to Texas in 1985 from Egypt. It was al-ways his dream to own a ranch and cattle. He made good on that dream and from 1985-1998, ranched outside of Athens, Texas and established one of the premier Simbrah herds. HR Power House I carry is a

product of Hallak Ranch, as well as the female HR Memphis Belle. Billy returned to Egypt for several years to handle family business. He and his wife, Malika, who is from Paris, France, returned to Ath-ens in 2011 and began building their Simbrah program again. They were able to purchase an embryo that was a full sib to HR Power House I, (Lot 31 in the sale) and a daughter of Memphis Belle. In addition, they are using Mr Strack Y254 heavily in their herd. This is their inaugural year as a Synergy sponsor. Their ranch is 6.5 miles on FM 1615 from Hwy 19S near Athens.

SMITH FARMS Ronnie Smith’s love for Simgenetics can be traced back to Simmen-tal’s arrival in the U.S. He built a Simmental herd and was also a breeder of Brahmentals, which was the original name of today’s Simbrahs. In addition, for more than 10 years, he was involved with SimAngus genetics in New Mexico. Today, he and his wife, Susan are focusing their efforts on raising Simbrahs and SimAngus HT. Their herd sire battery features top lines, including William N Black, Smith Hi Caliber to name a few. Females lining their embryo transfer program include a LMC She Moves daughter, as well as the 2011 Houston Junior Show Reserve Grand Champion Female. Smith Farms has also purchased embryos from the Smith Bella Bella cow that won every major and junior show in Texas and a flush in the great Diva, the dam of Dream Girl, who also won the purple at all the Texas shows. In addition, they are maintaining an elite herd of ¼ x ¾ foundation females for the purpose of outcrossing new bloodlines into their Simbrah herd. Ronnie and Susan are excited to be part of Synergy and invite you to visit their program, outside of Denton, Texas, just 35 miles north of Fort Worth.

SMITH GENETICS We want to thank everyone for your involvement in Synergy. The success of events I, II, III, IV, V and VI were overwhelming and it drives Smith Genet-ics to raise the bar on quality in Synergy VII’s offering. Smith Genetics includes Simbrah, Simmental and a registered horse division in Tim’s home state of Kentucky. We have developed a number of elite cow families and we are proud to be the breeders of the following sires, who are being utilized heavily in this breed: Smith Nu Wave I and II, Sargeant, Charismatic, Evan, Nu Approach, Satisfies, Xtra Ordinary Ronen, Andy, Matt and William. Our cattle have been very well received this year in the show ring, with many major wins, including the first time a Simbrah, Smith Charming Moves was named the Supreme American Champion at the Houston Junior Show. This event happens because of the hard work of a lot of people, quality cattle from the participants and the attendance and support of buyers and junior exhibitors. We are thankful to each for your part and we are proud to host Synergy. Here’s to big welcome to you to the event and to Smith Genetics.

Market demand played a major role when purchasing genetics to build our Smith Farms breeding program around and that is why we invested heavily in the Smith Bella Bella Cow Family that has been so successful within the breed and a major profit maker at Smith Genetics. We are sharing five descendants of this phenomenal cow family in this sale representing our commitment to sharing our best. We are retaining an additional daughter, Smith Ima Bella 322W, out of this breed great to serve as a lead donor in our embryo transplant program as well as a Bella Bella son, Smith Hi Caliber, that is serving as one of our lead herd sires. Bella Bella is without a doubt one of the best cows in the Simbrah breed and several breeders claim her to be the best all around. She is ideal in type and structure as a cow. Smith Bella Bella was the 2007 International Houston Champion and then her daughter, Smith Ciao Bella followed mom’s footsteps when crowned the 2011 International Houston Champion. Then to no surprise the third generation continued the winning tradition when Smith Charming Moves was named “The Supreme American Breed Champion at 2013 Houston International.” Smith Charming Moves is sired by the Bella Bella son, Smith Evan and this was the first time a Simbrah ever won this title! That makes three generations of International Champions!!! Bella Bella has generated over $325,000 in revenue from progeny and embryo sales which addresses the demand for her genetic power! Study the offspring selling from this breed leading cow family and take advantage of the opportunity to own one of her proven daughters as lot #1 and/or purchase her purebred granddaughters offered as lots 1A, 2 and/or her three-quarter foundation granddaughters selling as lots 3A and 3B. We sold a heifer in last year’s Simbrah Synergy for $7,000 that was bred just like Alexa! Remember juniors kids, San Antonio has a $10,000 scholarship for the ARB show. Sells open.

Lot 28 Our feature lot for this year’s Synergy sale was a no brainer, Miss Fancy Pants is straight from the re-placement pen and here for the taking. Fancy stems from one of the most maternal cow families to ever graze the pastures of Giddings, Smith Annie Lou. That’s right Fancy is a second generation Annie Lou daughter out of Smith Nu Approach. This cherry red heifer combines two of the most predictable pedigrees into one beautiful package. This heifer has always been my mother’s fa-vorite and I tend to agree with her. Mom always said this heifer reminded her of a beautiful young cow, packed with body and broodiness, yet very elegant and lady like in her appearance. And thanks to my mother this heifer has a personality, an attitude almost any little kid would love. Fancy pants will come to you bred come sale day or buyer will receive 2 units of semen on RFI Real Deal. Breeding her to the reigning National Champion RFI Real Deal was a clear choice when considering the ge-netic combination and the outcome of possibilities. Bred to RFI Real Deal ASA# 2660539 on 8/14/14.

Lot 27

Lots 28,29 and 30 all sell bred to RFI Real Deal, the 2014 ASA National and National at San Antonio Grand Champion Bull.

Here’s another one of those functional, good producing cows that’s going to get an opportunity to find a new home. Sandy has been a key cow for us around the ranch, I’ve tried breeding her several different ways and I’m not sure which mating has been better than the next. Her most notable progeny was the champion female at the Belt Buckle Bonanza for the Brandon Family, who was sired by Red Buck. Here’s a stout made, big bodied female, whose mass and femininity is always something to be admired by all who have seen her. It was an easy decision at breeding time to breed her to the popular RFI Real Deal bull, who combines some of the freshest and most sought after genetics in the breed. Come this November, Sandy’s new owner is going to be very excited when she lays down and has what could be her best calf to date. Don’t miss out on this bred cow come sale day she’s built right, and bred to the right bull to pay big dividends later this fall. Bred to RFI Real Deal ASA# 2660539 on 2/21/14. Safe in calf.

Due to the recent move of my parents, the cows and everything involved, we decided to sell a few select cows. Abby has always been a great produc-ing cow for us and has raised some exception show heifers, including one that resides with the Palmore family. Abby stems from a Nu Approach sired female on the maternal side, and is sired by a Sargeant son, who was shown by the McCrary family. Abby is a striking red female, whose femininity and elegance can go for miles, not to mention her skeletal make up is nearly flawless when on the move. If you were looking to invest in quality cows to make excellent show heifers Abby is definitely one of those cows that can do it. She has been exposed to RFI Real Deal the current National Champion bull, and should be confirmed pregnant by sale date. If she is not pregnant than the buyer will receive two units of semen on Real Deal for breeding services. Bred to RFI Real Deal ASA# 2660539 on 6/20/14.

SCC Queen Anne, was crowned National Champion at the San Antonio Livestock Show as well as International Cham-pion at the Houston Livestock Show. Selling 1/2 interest in one embryo pregnancy from this mating with a guarantee of a heifer calf.

Lady Charm was the 2014 Houston International Reserve Champi-on Female and she made lots of friends on the circuit because of her broodiness, stoutness, and structural correctness. Several folks asked why I showed one with that much color and I said because she is that good and I believe it to this day. That is why I flushed her as a virgin heifer. I went way out on a limb when mating this female and selected a Simmental bull, JF Milestone 999W, that is a total outcross to all Dream On progeny and he has made his mark in the elite of Simmental herds such as Hudson Pines, Circle M Farms, and Janssen Farms. The resulting three-quarter calf will be the first Milestone sired Simbrah calf in the breed and take note of the planned mating EPDs that post numbers in the top 1% API and top 1% TI. You asked for cutting edge genetics and this package is just that. Keep in mind you will own 1/2 interest and 1/2 possession in a resulting heifer calf from this pregnancy. I am excited about the future of this mating, even if it has additional color – only time will tell about the color but I am confident in the quality!

Lots 120-127 CONSISTENCY, CONSISTENCY, CONSISTENCY! Smith Highly Recommended was consistent when he sired these eight high quality purebred Sim-brah females! Without a doubt one of the most uniform set of paternal sisters to ever be offered and that is because they not only are sired by the same bull, but all of their dams carry Pine Ridge Ranch pedigrees. Highly Recommended is a CNS Dream On son out of the Smith Priceless cow who stamps her calves with quality, and consis-tency. You will see all these heifers have lots of body capacity, are structurally correct and have eye appeal and style. Each female is unique in her own way but as a group they are all high quality females who carry lineage from one of the top producing cows in the breed, Priceless. These heifers not only have style and balance but they have strong EPD profiles, which is indicative of the selection process that goes on at both Smith Genetics and Pine Ridge Ranch. Juniors take note of these special little ladies, they have what it takes to put you in the winner’s circle and make great cows when they are done showing. All heifers sell with the benefits offered by 7N Ranch and Smith Genetics breeding programs. All sell open.
