Message from the CEO

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I am a CEO of Seoul Business Agency Mr. Lee Jeonyoung.Seoul has been a capital city of Korea for more than 600 years since 1392. Thanks to its globally renowned enormous growth, Seoul now has been acknowledged as a global city whose brand value is estimated at 374.3 billion dollars, having the eighth highest influence over the world.

There are 700,000 companies in Seoul, and 10% of the entire companies which are 70,000 are working with foreign buyers and exporting Seoul's products to the global market. In 2012, the total volume of export amounted to 58.7 billion dollars.

Seoul Fair is the Seoul's most representative trade fair hosted by Seoul Business Agency supporting global businesses of companies in Seoul on behalf of the Seoul City Government. This is the fifth event since its first opening in 2012 July.

Please allow me to emphasize a good performance of Seoul Fair held in last year. About 250 foreign buyers and 1,300 visitors were participated in the previous event from inside and outside of the country to discuss export trades worth 330 million dollars. I am sure that we are going to achieve even greater performance than ever before with 150 promising foreign buyers and 1,500 visitors this time.

Let me introduce a famous proverb of Seoul that "Well begun is half done". As stated in here, first meetings between foreign buyers and local companies could be a good starting point of mutually beneficial and cooperative relations. We sincerely wish that Seoul Fair provides more opportunities for sustainable businesses to buyers and companies as well as creating growth momentum and jobs for Seoul citizens.
