12 (schedule TBD, but will also be held M-Th)– Most of our age group coaches are college or
high school students

Second “C”-Coaching• Structure
– “Sure up” staff, process to get where we are today and how we will be moving forward
• Clearly defined roles and expectations tied to key performance indicators
• Weekly check in’s with Coach Liaisons/Directors• In Season Evaluations & Post Season Evaluations to be
reviewed based on KPI’s
– Create an environment of sportsmanship & positive feedback for our kids
– Strike a balance between fun summer recreational swim team and a competitive swim team

– Practice/workout plans & age appropriate drills • Season is planned!• Have a plan, now work the plan!
– Cohesive and Accountable Team– Not just physical, but the mental aspect of
swimming• Setting indiviual & age group goals, Team Goals• Reviewing goals & celebrating accomplishments

Create accountability and structure! Parents need to support the Coaches and theirefforts!
Second “C”-Coaching
• Practice Schedule will be finalized late April once registration closes, evaluate the team make-up– Need to reduce pool hours for club & coaching staff
hours• Reduced 6 & under to a 30 minute practice
– Please remember you need to supervise your 10 & Unders during practice, they can not be alone
– Some Age groups will be combined– Allowing swimmers to swim up
• Not a family decision, a coaching decision• Once decision is made and accepted, you must practice with that age group for the entire season
Coaching-Sea Ponies• FOCUS to create a safe environment• Bridge program to Swim Team, rather than
a learn to swim program (lessons offered by Club)– Capped at 30 swimmers (plus 2 free
memberships)– Dedicated Age Group Coach
• Lead/Assistant, Rotation of Age Group Coaches
– Age 3-8 (must be 3 by June 15)• Fully Potty trained• Pass Coach Evaluation• Priority given to swim team members with older sibs
Second “C”-Coaching
• Technical Clinics– 3-4 throughout the season– Focus on specific techniques that are
hard to cover during practice times– FREE TO all swim team members – Will not be held at Dewing Park– Dates and further details to follow
Third “C”- Conference• It is our biggest meet of the year,
– We are a team and need everyone’s support
• Season will be focused on training for this meet, coaches will focused on preparing swimmers, mentally and physically for this meet
• MC will work hand-in-hand with coaching to create a “Count Down To Conference” atmosphere on the pool deck this summer
• Spirit Committee will create a fun week prior to conference filled with fun swimmer and family events
Let’s do the work, let’s show up!
Change is Hard!• Changes made this year:
– Increased dues for club -$675, but increased maintenance kick back to $150, one more chance to help out April 26
– Increased swimmer dues– Purchasing your own personalized cap & new equipment
• Equipment is needed for spring and summer swim also• Pool Improvements, Staffing, Events
– Pool Covers 2014– 2015 Beyond: – Ensuring we have salaries for proper staffing needs– Solar Heating for the pool– Sprinklers/Grass improvements– Landscaping– Industrial umbrellas
Handbook Reminders
• Home swim meets– Personal Tents can be set up at 3:30
on Wed afternoon & Friday after 7:30
• We are a community pool– Please treat it like your home-
cleanup after your family (trash, chairs)
– Lifeguards on duty from 1-6 Daily
