ITALIANO INTRODUZIONE

In questa Santa Messa si compirà il rito dell’ordinazione sacerdotale di 35 diaconi. I candidati provengono dal Brasile, Australia, Colombia, Spagna, Nuova Zelanda, Francia, Stati Uniti, Germania, Ungheria, Guatemala e dal Messico.

Il sacramento sarà conferito da Sua Eminenza, Cardinale Velasio De Paolis, C.S., Presidente emerito della Prefettura degli Affari Economici della Santa Sede. I Legionari di Cristo nutrono sentimenti di grande stima e gratitudine nei suoi confronti per il suo generoso impegno come Delegato Pontificio per la Congregazione e per il Movimento Regnum Christi dal 2010 al 2014.

* * * Accanto all’altare si trova l’immagine della Vergine di Guadalupe. Maria, che visse con Cristo e stette ai piedi della croce di suo Figlio, ora si trova a fianco di coloro che ricevono il sacerdozio di Gesù Cristo. Ella presiede le ordinazioni sacerdotale dei Legionari di Cristo. La Vergine disse a San Juan Diego, sulla collina del Tepeyac: «Non temere, non sono qui io che sono tua Madre? Non sei al riparo della mia ombra?» Queste parole, consolatrici e materne, sono sempre una realtà nella vita di ogni sacerdote e di tutti i cristiani.

INTRODUCCIÓN

Durante la celebración de esta Misa se llevará a cabo el rito de la ordena-ción sacerdotal de 35 diáconos. Los candidatos provienen de Brasil, Australia, Colombia, España, Nueva Zelanda, Francia, Estados Unidos, Alemania, Hungría, Guatemala y México.

El sacramento será conferido por su Eminencia, el Card. Velasio De Paolis, C.S., Presidente emérito de la Prefectura de los Asuntos Económicos de la Santa Sede. Los Legionarios de Cristo le están par-ticularmente agradecidos por el trabajo realizado como Delegado Pontificio para la Congregación y para el Movimiento Regnum Christi en los años 2010 a 2014.

Al lado del altar se encuentra la imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe. Así como Ella vivió con Cristo y estuvo a los pies de la cruz de su Hijo, ahora se encuentra al lado de aquellos que recibirán el sacerdocio de Jesucristo.

Ella preside las ordenaciones sacer-dotales de los Legionarios de Cristo. La Santísima Virgen dijo a San Juan Diego, sobre la colina del Tepeyac: «No temas, ¿no estoy yo aquí que soy tu Madre? ¿No estás bajo mi sombra?». Estas consoladoras y ma-ternales palabras, acompañan la vida de todo sacerdote y cristiano.

INTRODUCTION

During the celebration of this Mass, 35 deacons will be ordained to the priesthood. The candidates are from Brazil, Australia, Colombia, Spain, New Zealand, France, USA, Ger-many, Hungary, Guatemala and Mexico.

The Sacrament of Holy Orders will be conferred by His Eminence Card. Velasio De Paolis, C.S., President Emeritus of the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See. The Legionaries of Christ are parti-cularly grateful for his support and guidance as Papal Delegate for the Congregation and for the entire Regnum Christi Movement, from 2010 to 2014.

Near the altar is the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Just as Mary lived with Christ and was present at the foot of the cross so, she is also present today at the side of those who will receive the priesthood of Jesus Christ.

Mary presides over the priestly ordi-nation of every Legionary of Christ. On the hill of Tepeyac, Our Lady said to Saint Juan Diego, “Don’t be afraid! Am I not here, I who am your mother? Are you not under my man-tel?” These consoling and motherly words accompany the life of every priest and Christian.

Il rito dell’ordinazione sacerdotale ha luogo dopo il Vangelo e si divide in tre parti: i riti preparatori, il rito centrale dell’ordinazione ed i riti complementari.

Il rito preparatorio comprende la presentazione dei candidati, l’omelia dell’ordinante, le promesse sacer-dotali e la promessa d’obbedienza.

Il rito centrale a sua volta, comprende le litanie dei santi, l’imposizione delle mani da parte del Vescovo e di alcuni sacerdoti e, poi, la formula di consacrazione. I riti complementari consistono nella vestizione degli abiti sacerdotali, nell’unzione delle mani, nella consegna del calice e della patena e nell’abbraccio della pace.

El rito de la ordenación sacerdotal tiene lugar después del Evangelio y se divide en tres partes: los ritos preparatorios, el rito central y los ritos complementarios.

El rito preparatorio consiste en la presentación de los candidatos, la homilía del celebrante, las prome-sas sacerdotales y la promesa de obediencia.

El rito central consta de las letanías de los santos, la imposición de las manos por parte del Obispo y de algunos sacerdotes y la oración consagratoria.

Los ritos complementarios consis-ten en la investidura de los orna-mentos sacerdotales, la unción de las manos, la entrega del cáliz y de la patena y el abrazo de la paz.

The rite of priestly ordination takes place after the reading of the Gospel and is divided into three parts: the preparatory rites, the essential part of the rite of ordina-tion, and the complementary rites.

The preparatory rites include the presentation of the candidates, the celebrant’s homily, the promises of the priesthood, and the promise of obedience.

The essential part of the rite of ordination consists in the litany of the saints, the laying on of hands by the Bishop and some of the priests present, and the prayer of consecration.

The complementary rites include the putting on of priestly vest-ments, the anointing of hands, the presentation of the paten and chal-ice, and the sign of peace.

Preparémonos y unámonos espiritualmente a los diáconos con algunos cantos y oraciones en estos últimos momentos de su espera para el gran don del sacerdocio. El Padre Nuestro:

Padre nuestro que estas en el cielo, santificado sea tu nombre; venga a nosotros tu Reino; hágase tu voluntad en la tierra, como en el cielo.

Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día; perdona nuestras ofensas, como también nosotros perdonamos a los que nos ofenden; no nos dejes caer en la tentación y líbranos del mal.

Let us prepare ourselves and unite ourselves spiritually with the deacons with songs and prayers in these final moments before they receive the great gift of the priesthood. The Our Father:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen. The Hail Mary: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. The Glory be:

Oh Jesús sumo y eterno sacerdote, protege a tus sacerdotes en el refugio de tu Sagrado Corazón. Guarda sin mancha sus manos consagradas, que a diario tocan tu Sagrado Cuerpo, y conserva puros sus labios teñidos con tu Preciosa Sangre. Haz que se preserven puros sus corazones, marcados con el sello sublime del sacerdocio. Haz que crezcan en fidelidad y amor a ti y presérvalos del espíritu del mundo.

Dales el poder de transformar el pan y el vino. Dales también el poder de transformar los corazones. Bendice sus fatigas, que sean fructíferas, y dales un día la corona de la vida eterna.

Prayer for the santification for priests: ST. THÉRÈSE OF THE CHILD JESUS

Lord Jesus, eternal priest, guard your priests under the protection of your most sacred heart, where no harm can be done them. Keep unstained their anointed hands which will daily touch your sacred body. Keep unsullied their lips, which will daily receive your precious blood. Guard the purity and detach-ment of their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of your glori-ous priesthood. Make them grow in their love for you and fidelity to you. Protect them from any worldly contamination. Grant them the power to transform bread and wine, to change hearts. Bless their work with abundant fruit. And grant them, one day, the crown of eternal life.

Christ was acclaimed by God a high priest in the line of Melchizedek.

A reading from the letter to the Hebrews 5, 1-10

Every high priest is taken from among men and made their representative before God, to offer gifts and sacri-fices for sins. He is able to deal patiently with erring sinners, for he is himself beset by weakness and so must make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people.

One does not take this honor on his own initiative, but only when called by God as Aaron was. Even Christ did not glorify himself with the office of high priest; he received it

from the One who said to him, “You are my son; today I have begotten you” just as he says in another place, “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”

In the days when he was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to God, who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and when perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, designated by God as high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

IMPOSIZIONE DELLE MANI E PREGHIERA DI ORDINAZIONE

L’ordinazione sacerdotale si realizza con l’imposizione delle mani e la preghiera di consacrazione dell’ordinante. Il celebrante, in silenzio, impone le mani sulla testa di ogni diacono. Questo gesto significa, fin dal tempo degli apostoli, la trasmissione del potere sacramentale dello Spirito Santo. Una volta terminata l’imposizione, alcuni dei superiori e sacerdoti, in rappresentazione dei sacerdoti presenti, imporranno loro le mani come gesto di comunione nel sacerdozio. Il secondo momento dell’ordinazione sacerdotale si realizza quando i candidati si inginocchiano ed il celebrante, con le braccia estese, pronuncia la preghiera di consacrazione. Questa preghiera costituisce la forma del sacramento. Sono parole che spiegano e realizzano il significato del gesto dell’imposizione delle mani. Le parole stampate in maiuscoletto sono quelle essenziali. Finendo il rito dell’imposizione delle mani e la preghiera di consacrazione, i candidati sono sacerdoti di Gesù Cristo per sempre.

Il celebrante recita la preghiera di ordinazione: Signore, Padre santo, Dio onnipotente ed eterno, artefice della dignità umana, dispensatore di ogni grazia, che fai vivere e sostieni tutte le creature, e le guidi in una continua crescita: assistici con il tuo aiuto. Per formare il popolo sacerdotale tu hai disposto in esso in diversi ordini, con la potenza dello Spirito Santo, i ministri del Cristo tuo Figlio.

Nell’antica alleanza presero forma e figura i vari uffici istituiti per il servizio liturgico. A Mosè e ad Aronne, da te prescelti per reggere e santificare il tuo popolo, associasti collaboratori che li seguivano nel grado e nella dignità. Nel cammino dell’esodo comunicasti a settanta uomini saggi e prudenti lo spirito di Mosè tuo servo, perché egli potesse guidare più agevolmente con il loro aiuto il tuo popolo.

El segundo momento de la ordenación sacer-dotal se realiza cuando los candidatos se arrodillan y el celebrante, con los brazos extendidos, pronuncia la oración consagrato-ria. Esta oración constituye la forma del sacramento. Son palabras que explican y realizan el significado del gesto de la imposi-ción de las manos. Las palabras que están en mayúscula son las esenciales. Al concluir el rito de la imposición de las manos y la ora-ción consagratoria, los candidatos son sacer-dotes de Jesucristo para siempre.

El celebrante dice la oración consagratoria:

Already in the Old Testament different ministries were estab-lished by sacred rites as when you placed Moses and Aaron at the head of the people to sanc-tify and rule them, and chose helpers next to them in rank and dignity to be with them and help them in their task.

In the desert you extended the spirit of Moses to seventy wise men who helped him to rule your people more easily.

Así también hiciste partícipes a los hijos de Aarón de la abundante plenitud otorgada a su padre, para que un número suficiente de sacerdotes ofrecie-ra, según la ley, los sacrificios, sombra de los bienes futuros.

PREGHIERA EUCARISTICA III

Il celebrante esprime la lode che le creature e il popolo rendono a Dio:

Padre veramente santo, a te la lode da ogni creatura. Per mezzo di Gesù Cristo, tuo Figlio e nostro Signore, nella potenza dello Spirito Santo fai vivere e santifichi l’universo, e continui a radunare intorno a te un popolo, che da un confine all’altro della terra offra al tuo nome il sacrificio perfetto.

Il celebrante e i concelebranti implorano lo Spirito Santo affinché il pane e il vino divengano Corpo e Sangue di Cristo.

The celebrant and the concelebrants consume the body and blood of Christ. The new priests owe much to their parents, who have helped them become what they now are. As a sign of gratitude, the new priests will give communion to their parents. Other priests will give communion to their families and the rest of the assembly.
