General Magistrates Per Administrative Order 95-28, Chief Judge Joseph Farina ordered that all family law proceedings before General
Magistrates and/or Support Enforcement Hearing Officers shall be electronically reported with equipment provided by the
AOC. The State pays for the CDs, the cost of a transcript is paid for by the parties.
Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) The Office of the State Courts of Florida has established a written policy that requires the judicial circuits ensure that real-
time transcription used in court proceedings be accurate to ensure effective participation by a party, witness, attorney,
judicial employee, judge, or juror who is deaf or hard of hearing. The policy states that in order to ensure complete
accuracy of real-time transcription judicial circuits must comply with the minimum guidelines as set forth in the policy.
Any court reporting firm contracted with the circuit can assist the AOC with real-time transcription.
State Attorneys Office (SAO) The SAO has three (3) in-house court reporters on staff for cases not filed (under investigation). Court reporting firms are
responsible for covering depositions scheduled by the SAO that stem from divisions assigned to the firm.
