Advanced registration is highly recommended toallow adequate course materials to be available to all registrants. Advanced registration ends January 4, 2013. Registrations received afterJanuary 4 will be assessed an additional $100 late fee to the registration fee.

REFUND POLICYFull refunds (less $100 processing fees) are availableif requested, in writing a minimum of one monthprior to the date of the program. Any other refundswill follow the ACOEP Guidelines, which are availableupon request. ACOEP is not responsible forinclement weather, delays in airline travel schedules,or governmental restrictions on travel. Refunds willnot be made if participants are delayed or unable to attend because of these issues.

ORAL BOARD REVIEWCOURSE OBJECTIVE

This interactive course is designed to provide thetools to pass the oral board exams, whether you are studying for recertification or taking the exam for the first time. This one-day workshop features an orientation and examination overview, visual stimulus review, as well as a full day of mock testingsessions with a board-certified examiner and casesdeveloped to mimic the actual exam.

Due to limited class size, this course will be offeredtwice: on Tuesday, January 15 and again onWednesday, January 16. Each course will be limitedto 30 participants. Please register in advance as they will sell out very quickly.

INTENSE REVIEWCOURSE OBJECTIVE

This course provides an intense review of clinicalproblems encountered in the daily practice of emergency medicine, and assists physicians intheir preparation to take the certification or recertification examination in emergency medicine.Each lecture is designed to add to participants’knowledge base, and to provide guidance in emergency department management. While thecourse is comprehensive, emphasis placed oneach subject is commensurate with the publishedguidelines of the American Osteopathic Board ofEmergency Medicine.

PROGRAM FORMAT Attendees will have the opportunity to pick upcourse materials in advance on Wednesday,January 16 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Materials will also be available for pick up each morning duringbreakfast, which is provided daily. Lectures beginearly on Thursday, January 17, at 6:45 a.m. Theremainder of the week, lectures begin at 7:30 a.m.,and end between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. The last lecture on Monday will end at approximately 1:45 p.m. The progress of each participant will bemeasured via administration of a pre and post-testadministered on the first and last day of the program.There will be a two-hour period allowed for participants to take the post test examination on site, or the exam may be taken home and done individually.

The course includes all topics listed in the ACOEP’sCore Curriculum for Emergency Medicine. Sometopics will be covered in written format only.Speakers will place emphasis on topics listed asHigh (H) and Moderate (M) emphasis in the CoreCurriculum. A case-based review of EKG’s will also be provided.

The Visual Stimulus Review will be on displayThursday through Monday. Attendees will have theopportunity to participate in this optional questionand answer photo case review. A live stream of theVisual Stimulus will also be available on an in-househotel channel for attendees staying at the WestinRiver North. Participants who attest to reviewing allcases will receive two-hours of additional CME credit.

SYLLABUS MATERIALParticipants will receive their syllabus material in a paper binder format consisting of approximately1,000 pages of printed material, unless a USB flashdrive is requested. Please note that the flash drivedoes NOT have note-taking capability. ACOEP willprovide power strips in the general session room.The syllabus will only be available to be picked upon-site. Please note that registrations receivedafter January 4 are NOT guaranteed a paper syllabus. In the event that paper materials are nolonger available, a flash drive will be provided.

CMEThe course is approved for 40-42 hours of Category1A credit by the American Osteopathic Associationand 40-42 hours of Category 1 credit by theAmerican College of Emergency Physicians.

The American Association of Physician Assistantsaccepts Category 1A CME from AOA-CCMEproviders, prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMACategory 1 CME for the PRA from organizationsaccredited by ACCME.
