I am pleased to announce that the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) has contracted Publisher Jack Meli and Editor John G. Smith to spearhead the launch of Private Motor Carrier, the magazine for operators of North America's private truck fleets. We are pleased to be working with Jack and John through Business Information Group, publishers of Truck News, Motortruck Fleet Executive, Canadian Transportation and Logistics, and Materials Management and Distribution magazines. You've known PMTC's magazine as The Counsellor and/or Corporate Trucking. But this new identity - Private Motor Carrier magazine - reflects a key step in the publication's evolution. We are joining forces with a team of publishing professionals who have deep roots in the trucking industry. Jack and John have collectively served trucking publications for more than 25 years, and they will deliver a high-quality editorial package that meets the unique information needs of North America's private fleet operators. The changes are far deeper than the name alone. For example, our circulation has increased by more than 875%, reaching 16,116 private trucking professionals, including members of the PMTC and prospective members including fleet personnel in a broad range of sectors from manufacturers, to food and beverage suppliers, petroleum and chemical haulers, truck leasing companies and logistics providers, to name a few. These decision makers are vital to your business. Private fleets continue to make up the largest sector of the trucking industry, and according to the American Society of Transportation and Logistics, they account for:

• 75% of Class 4 - 8 trucks on the road; • 66% of Class 8 trucks; • 50% of all new Class 8 truck sales.

As well, Private Motor Carrier magazine's frequency will increase to a quarterly schedule. The re-launch also includes a digital edition of the magazine complete with online features including dynamic links and embedded video. With an experienced and knowledgeable publishing and editorial team, increased reach and frequency, and enhanced digital advertising opportunities, there has never been a better time to include Private Motor Carrier magazine in your advertising, marketing and communications plans. Jack will contact you about these opportunities very soon. But if you would like to reach him directly, you can call him at 647-823-2300, or email [email protected] Please join me in welcoming Jack, John, and Business Information Group to our publishing team. And on behalf of our association's members, we thank you for your advertising support. Regards, Bruce Richards, President, Private Motor Truck Council of Canada
