How would you like to spend your summer working at a 160,000 -circulation newspaper located near the beach? The Virginian-P ilot’s summer internship may be just right for you! Our i nternships are highly c ompetitive. Theref ore, experience working on a college newspaper is a must, and a previous internship at a dai ly paper is a plus. Reporters and photo graphers will need a car. Juniors and seniors are preferred, but sophomores and graduate students also are elig ible. The Pilot wil l select five interns for next summer – one page designer, one copy editor, one photograph er and two reporters. They wi ll be notified by Christmas. The pay is $540 a week and the internships run for 12 weeks during the summer. We also will offer a fall-winter sports internship that will l ast for six months (Septem ber 2013-Ma rch 2014). The sports intern is expected to work as a copy editor for three months and as a sports reporter for three months.
