SUMMARY AND APPLICABILITY

Page 19: 2013 Intel ISEF Educator Academy Phoenix, Arizona

Intel ISEF Educator Academy Intel® Education Programs

SUMMARY AND APPLICABILITY

• Join a defined national goal

• BKM philanthropy model

• Intel does not want to replace MOE – but rather to be a partner

• Wide coalition –> higher impact (MOE, industry, academia, NGOs)• Partners may choose to join part of the vectors, or all of them.

• Leverage partners advantages. e.g. employees skill-based voluntarism

• Holistic approach - STEM Education Transformation model• All program vectors can be easily replicable in IS and WW

1. Intel provided technological consulting to MOE on new platforms, security etc. with Intel volunteers: The Impact: MOE director general issued a formal letter to students based on our recommendations.

2. STEM’s new approach: promoting “a culture of scientists” in 6th and 8th grades. The Impact: overall policy change in Israel’s educational system; strengthening ISEF as a national competition. The Impact: ISEF defined as 1 of 5 national competitions in a formal MOE policy document and MOE increases co-funding in ISEF

3. ICT: Intel’s tools and resources now part of MOE’s training offering for teachers, and Intel resources are posted on MOE’s website. The impact: all teachers are potentially exposed.
