About the College The International College of Aeronautics (ICA) is a USA registered school and Lagos State government
approved vocational training institution. The school is established to provide aviation education
training for people aspiring to work in licensed and non-licensed aviation disciplines.
Aviation education is that branch of general education concerned with communicating knowledge,
skills, and attitudes about aviation and its impact on the society. It may be integrated as part of the
curriculum for high schools and tertiary institutions.
The advent of aviation education has contributed immensely to the technological advancement of the
industrialized nations; Africa is the next frontier. It will be exciting to plant the seed of aviators from
the state’s existing Secondary Schools, technical colleges and tertiary institutions.
The training involved in aviation has built-in skills that our youths can acquire to become job creators
instead of being job seekers.
Aviation is the fastest growing industry in Africa today. There are existing shortages of skilled
manpower to service the growing aviation industry. Most companies hire foreign expatriates because
the indigenous people don’t have the required skills/experiences to take on these jobs.
Our graduates will hence be equipped with the tools to contribute to a sustainable technological
advancement of aerospace industry in Nigeria.
Our Foreign Affiliates
Oklahoma, USA
ICA has affiliation with Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology Tulsa Oklahoma, USA. Our
students start their training at our College for certificate in Basic Aviation Technology to Diploma

program in Applied Aviation Science. AAS will take care of your ground schools in Private,
Commercial and Instrument here in Nigeria with full access and opportunity to continue your flying
portion at Spartan.
ICA Partners with Gleim Aviation in USA to offer On-Line FAA Part 141 ground school courses. Gleim
Aviation was approved by FAA on June 3rd, 2013 as authorized Pilot School to conduct the On-
line Part 141 Pilot Ground School Courses in Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, Instrument Rating and
Commercial Pilot courses. Our students will receive credits for online ground school courses towards
your Diploma program in Applied Aviation Science.
ICA also has affiliation with Zenith Aircraft Company in Mexico, Missouri, USA and our students learn
to build a complete flyable Experimental aircraft during the entire advance diploma program in
Aircraft Building Technology. The training involved has built-in skills that our youths can acquire to
become job creators instead of being job seekers.
Unemployment in Nigeria There are over 65 million unemployed people in Nigeria. More of them are our youths. If you are a
Nigerian, you probably know someone between the ages of 15-35 looking for a job. A large number
of these youths have college degrees, many graduated from two to five years ago. They are your
children, cousins, nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters. And they all have one thing in common.
!!!!! No Jobs !!!!!!.
INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF AERONAUTICS – NIGERIA INQUIRY BROCHURE Page 4
In aviation, there are over three hundred freshly graduated pilots unemployed in Nigeria largely
because they have no experience to secure lucrative jobs with Airlines. Our school to work program
will provide experience opportunities for our young graduates to secure those lucrative jobs
available in the industry.
Our Education Center
The era of isolation in aviation education is over. Most of aviation technologies in advanced world
are utilized outside the airport environment. They can commonly be found at our homes, shops and
small & large scale industries.
Our development plan is to partner with institutions of higher learning for research and technological
collaborations. At the same time, we are bringing education to your doorsteps.
Currently, we have established education centers with Lagos State Polytechnics and Aero Contractors
of Nigeria. The Ikorodu Center run a semester system. But prospective students can enroll on
monthly basis.
The ICA-Laspotech Education Center is located on the main campus of Lagos State Polytechnic at
Ikorodu, Lagos. The center offers Certificates and Diploma courses in 1. Basic Aviation Technology,
2. Applied Aviation Science (Flight & Maintenance Specialties).
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Students must have a pass in WASC with at least five credits. English and Mathematics plus other
subjects in science or technical are advantageous with at least a CGPA of 2.0.Commercial or Art
Students are also welcomed. All applicants must take the Pre-Degree Course in Basic Aviation
Technology.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Students must complete at least 12 years of education and obtained a secondary school certificate or
higher. International students should also have TOEFL if their primary language is not English.

Certificate Course
The certificate and diploma courses are intended to induce more youths into aviation industry. It can
also be used as pipeline program towards enrollment into institutions offering NCAA sanctioned
licensing programs. Our programs are designed to foster industry and community relationships
thereby ensuring the training of the public in various aspects of aviation curriculum to compliment
different non-aviation discipline that are essential to operational efficiency and safety within the
industry.
1.0 Basic Aviation Technology (BAT) Program
There is a saying in science (and education) that goes…
I hear, I forget. I see, I remember. I do, I understand!
There cannot be any meaningful development without public awareness.
This program is designed to unlock the mysteries surrounding the aviation industry and give participants the foundation to choose different career path and job opportunities available in the field of aviation. The focus of this program is to empower the participants to become productive contributors to their country’s economic growth.
Basic Aviation Technology (BAT) is a professional certificate program offered to:
1. Arts, Commercial and Science students in secondary schools from JSS1 to SSS3.
INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF AERONAUTICS – NIGERIA INQUIRY BROCHURE Page 6
2. Students that have graduated and taken WASC exams can also participate in our accelerated BAT program during long school break.
3. Current employees of Airlines and Aviation business operators. 4. College, Polytechnic and University Students. 5. Business owners who are frequent flyers. 6. Educators and people in teaching profession. 7. Adults curious about aviation awareness and education.
The main objectives of the Basic Aviation Technology offered by the International College of Aeronautics to its students are:
1) To bring awareness among students and by extension to local communities, about the major historical events, the market scenario and technological developments in the field of aviation.
2) To give students the opportunity to absorb an intense training and hands-on experience that could be their first step toward lifelong careers in aviation or other aviation-related fields.
3) To detect students with strong interest in aviation and encourage them in this regard by mentoring those on the rapid developments and opportunities in the field of aviation.
4) To educate current employees in aviation field about tools they need to enhance their performances at work and add value to their career at place of employment.
At the completion of this program, the certificate issued can be used for:
A) Direct Entry into the International College of aeronautics. The Basic Aviation Technology certificate serves as the prerequisite certificate training program for direct entry into International College of Aeronautics.
B) The BAT certificate can be used for entry level jobs in the aviation sector or combined with other non-aviation related discipline.
C) Added advantage for employment after Polytechnics/University graduation
