the classroom, the student should wait quietly in the hallway for the teacher to return. Students

will not be counted tardy if they are waiting for the teacher.

    Assignments

Assignments are due the next day at the beginning of the class period. If work is not completed

on time, the student may stay in at recess or stay after school to get the work completed. Late

assignments will be docked 10 percentage points. After the assignment is one week late, a zerowill be given.

    Group/Partner Work

When students are working together in class, they should work cooperatively in quiet voices and

stay seated with their group/partner. If a student is not participating or being disruptive, he/she

will be removed from the group and given individual work to do.

    Agendas

The student must have his/her agenda at all times. The student will use the agenda to record daily

assignments and as a communication tool between the school and home. Agendas that are filledout, signed, and returned on Monday and I will be looking to make sure they are signed.

    Absent From Class

When a student is absent from class, he/she will need to see the teacher the next day before class

begins to get the assignment that was missed. Two days are allowed to make up work for each

    day missed.

    Leaving the Classroom

If a student needs to leave the classroom, he/she will ask the teacher for permission first, get their

agenda signed, and then log out on the sheet by the door and leave quietly. Upon returning, the

student will log back in and quietly return to his/her seat and resume work. The student will not

be allowed to leave the classroom during the teachers lecture, unless it is an emergency. If a

student becomes suddenly ill and needs to leave the classroom to go to the restroom, he/she

should quickly and quietly exit the classroom. When the student is feeling well enough, he/she

should return to the classroom to get their supplies, and the teacher will sign the agenda for the

student to go to the office to visit the nurse or phone home.

Classroom Log SheetIt is required that all students sign out on the Classroom Log Sheet when leaving the

classroom for any reason. The sheet is on the window by the door. The student also signs back

in when returning to the classroom.

    Going to the Library

Students need to ask the teacher before going to the library. The student will need to take his/her

agenda to the library. The student will need to sign out. The student is allowed to go to the

library at any time after his/her assignment is complete. Only one visit to the library per class

    period is allowed.

    Textbooks and Binders

The student will check out two textbooks for this class. The teacher will record a book number.

The student is then responsible for that book and that same number must be turned in at the end

of the year. The textbook needs to be brought to class every day. A 3-ring binder provided by

the student also needs to be present or brought to class daily. Notes and warm ups will be kept in

the binder. The binder will be graded each nine weeks on neatness and completeness.

    Grading

The students grade is based on daily work, tests, projects, and notebook checks. The student

can at anytime correct work for an opportunity to receive a better grade because it gives the

student an chance to learn from his/her mistakes. There are exceptions to this, for example, if we

go over the assignment together in class after its been graded, the assignment is already two

weeks old or it was a test. Letter grades are based on the following grading scale:

    100-90 A

    89-80 B

    79-70 C69-60 D

    59-0 F

    Positive Reinforcement

Mr. Hudson will have a group contest. Since there is a lot of group work in both math and

science, each group or individual will have an opportunity to get points every day for things like

everyone turning in their assignment, good behavior, etc. Each group will consist of 3 to 4

students. The group or pair with the most points at the end of the month will get a pick of a

candy bar or soda of their choice. All students in that period will have a class point total, which is

the accumulated points of each student. Once everyone in that class period receives 300 points, the class will vote on a fun activity to do on a day picked by the teacher during that period.

Points can also be lost as a consequence of poor behavior which is stated in the classroom

discipline plan. For more information check out classdojo.com. This is the website that I keep

    track of behavior points.

    MR. HUDSONS CLASSROOM DISCIPLINE PLAN

First offense-a verbal warning is given.

    4/4

Severe Disruption-will result in the student being removed from the classroom and sent to the

    principals office.

Repeated Offenses-will result in a conference with the parents/guardian and teacher and/or the

    Middle School Principal.

Detentions are to be served the same day of the offense after school if a parent can be contacted,

or the next day after school once arrangements have been made with a parent/guardian.

Lets all work together to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment.

I have read this discipline plan, understand it, and will follow it while in Mr. Hudsons class.
