The Need is Great

Poverty is expanding: More than 679,933 people live at or near the poverty level in the metro area of

Minnesota.

And this is almost a 10% increase from last year

So What is United Way Doing About This?

• Employment: getting a job, or a better job

• Education: a job gets you out of poverty, increasing education keeps you out of poverty
