description

The project began late 2011, during a visit to the slumcard child care center. We were enlightened by the charm and happiness of the children with a difficult life, it gave us the drive to do something and that was to build a roof over their playground so they would have protrection from the scortching sun and heavy rains, now they can be outside to rest or play with basic comfort.

2012 Project Bangkok Charity is finished

Recipient: Foundation for slum child care Location: Khlong Toey (Toei) Bangkok. Not many people would have a chance to visit a slum area.

About: Raise a Roof for the playground When we visited with guests we were saw a playground that had no shade and no suitable ground cover. We offered to do something, so the kids had somewhere to sit, rest or play without exposure to the elements. The personal empowerment (choice) that you can gain from time with these children is defining:-

• They are very well behaved, • They are very grateful, • They are very happy-with-in whilst with-out much.

The project began in late 2011

• Many people participated, (from West Australia), • they donated; time and/or money, • they donated words of wisdom (kind or otherwise) • each and all motivated us along the way; the path is not always clear but we want to achieve and we persist.

Thanks everyone, for the connection with something that helped someone, other than ourselves, for people that really do need more than ourselves, many of us do that often (by choice) and your karma is crystallising your life.

As buddha said to the one that said "I want Happiness" remove "I" which is ego, remove "want" which is desire, you now have happiness

About: Foundation slum for child care

Through their Daycare Centres and by supporting privately run daycare homes, the Foundation provides care and education for children aged from four months to five years old. They also reach out to help other slum babies and infants in their own homes through the help of community volunteers. These children come from low-income families, and many suffer from neglect, malnutrition and abuse. The foundation supports nearly 2000 children, every day! Website About Khlong Toei

• Some do not even know that such a place exists in the city. • Klong Toey Slum is one of the oldest and largest slums in

Bangkok, having been around for about 50 years. • The slum communities are made up of a majority of rural

migrants from Northeast Thailand who came to Bangkok for job opportunities. They constantly face threats of eviction from the authorities in Thailand because they have no legal right to the land that they occupy.
