At Woodward West, campers improve their basic skills and pursue new goals, all while having a great time. Our exceptional staff, New-Skill Bell, and inspiration from Olympians, fill Woodward West with unrivaled positive energy that helps campers reach new levels.

Woodward West is home to gymnasts of all levels: beginners, high school gymnasts, and competitive athletes. Through the use of progressions, spotting, foam pits, and resi-pits, coaches emphasize the improvement of basics and existing skills and the development of new skills and campers goals.

Campers skills are evaluated upon arrival at Woodward West so each gymnast can be placed in a class according to his or her gymnastics ability. Beyond mandatory, structured class time, additional open workout time is available every day for gymnasts to focus on specialized training.

Linnea CampbellGym DirectorLinnea always wanted to be a Woodward camper; she saw the advertisements in her gymnastics magazines as a gymnast. As soon as she started coaching her own gymnastics team, she brought them to Woodward West for a weekend train-away in 2005. Linnea hasnt missed a summer at camp since she began working at Woodward as both a boys and girls gymnastics coach and cabin counselor and will now be starting her third year as director. Linnea believes the most important part about camp is building relationships with the campers to help them succeed, not only in the sport of gymnastics, but also in life. While Linnea plans on eventually continuing her education to become a teacher, she is happiest now ensuring that every camper experiences the magic of summer camp at Woodward West.

Andy TimmGymnastics/Cheer/Equipment Director Woodward WestAt Arizona State University, Andy Timm competed on three national championship teams and served as captain for two years. As a freshman, Andy started managing the equipment duties for the team and eventually the state of Arizona. Subsequently, Andy worked for USA Gymnastics and AAI at World Championships in Anaheim and managed equipment for the T.J. Maxx Tour of Olympic Champions. He has been USA Gymnastics equipment manager since 2005. Andy also worked at Aspire Kids Sports Center in Arizona as assistant head cheer coach and coached the boys and girls gymnastics teams. Andy served as meet director for the Pacific Coast Classic and directs and runs other meets as well. In 2009, Andy married Joelle Farrar, who also works at Woodward West. Andy has been involved with Woodward since 2008 and is passionate about making every campers experience a lifetime memory!
