Heather S. Candy, AttorneyPalmer Kazanjian Wohl Hodson llPHeather represents employers and management in labor and employment matters, including civil litigation in state and federal courts. She has represented both public and private employers in matters of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, ADA/FMLA compliance, wage and hour, defamation, OSHA and Cal-OSHA compliance, and labor relations. Heather has expertise in the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration and mediation. Peter JohnsonUniversity of the PacificPeter Johnson is Director of both the Westgate Center for Management Development and the Institute for Family Business in the Eberhardt School of Business at the University of the Pacific. Peter founded the Institute for Family Business in 1997.

His prior positions include Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales for a national financial services firm, Executive Director of The Business Incubator, and founder and owner of several businesses in California.

As a consultant and speaker, he has worked with many organizations on a variety of topics including leadership, marketing, family business, strategic planning, and customer service.

Peter wrote a feasibility study for The Business Incubator that has been used as a model for more than twenty business incubators around the country. One of his business plans generated more than $13 million in funding for a private company. Peter has been quoted in local, regional and national media and has served as an expert witness in family business issues. As a speaker, he enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with organizations throughout the U.S.

Brett EastburnKeynote SpeakerBrett was born in 1971 with a congenital birth defect known as Quad-membral Limbs Deficiency. He has no arms and no legs. While in school Brett played baseball, football, and basketball. He also became an accomplished swimmer. In junior high he became a member of the wrestling team. In high school he wrestled on the varsity team. In the 1988 wrestling competition under the AAU, Brett placed 4th in the nation.

During Brett’s senior year he was made one of the team captains. After graduating he became a green belt in the martial arts. Brett is also an accomplished artist with national recognition. During Brett’s senior year he began speaking professionally on subjects such as Self-improvement. Brett has travelled throughout the world giving his speeches.

Brett and his service dog Murray are the frequent subjects of news articles and TV interviews that deal with great success stories. Brett is currently working full-time as a motivational and inspirational speaker. He is also a certified substitute teacher in his hometown area. Brett has NO ARMS and NO LEGS. But most importantly, NO HANDICAPS.
