  • RasputinHistoriography remains a matter of Epistemology, the understanding of both truth and belief. The documentation of events and people has only occurred during the last few centuries and the question of reliability remains a thought in all observers of history.

    History and Bias cannot naturally be separated, however must be taken to account when studying an aspect of history.

    'The Time of Troubles' is the term given to period of Russian history which compromises of the years between the Rurik Dynasty (1598) and the establishment of the Romanov Dynasty (1613). These few years are described as some of Russia's bloodiest times, with the constant threat of civil uprisings, traitors and invaders on the expanding nation. The 'Time of Troubles' severely impacted the Russian psyche as it demonstrated the extreme power and control the monarchy had over its people and encouraged people to question the effectiveness of government. No action was taken until much later, however these years remained a lingering thought amongst the people.
