SPOT FLASHINGThis product will spot dry, with very low after flash tack, in 2 to 8 seconds depending on the spot dryer used. In some cases, you may have to lower the heat of the spot cure unit because too much heat may actually make the ink tacky. When you spot dry, you are only partially fusing or gelling the surface of the ink. The ink should just be dry to the touch, with no lift off, but not be totally fused. Totally fusing the underprint white may cause intercoat adhesion problems with the inks printed on top of the white ink. Final fusing or curing should occur in the dryer.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. 7041LF Paramount White is an ultra low bleed ink, not a non-bleed ink. Bleeding or dye migration may still occur on some types of fabric. Always test print the fabric to be printed before beginning production. It is best to perform long term testing on fabrics to be used to determine if they are going to bleed. Bleeding or dye migration may not occur right away.
2. 7041LF Paramount White is phthalate free and should not be modified or come in contact with any product not recommended for the ink. Any addition of products or contact by products other than those recommended can contaminate the ink and it may no longer be phthalate free. Make sure that all mixing spatulas, mixing blades, squeegees, flood bars and screens are thoroughly cleaned (free of inks or materials which may contaminate the phthalate free product) before every use.
3. Excessive squeegee pressure, when using 7041LF Paramount White, will drive the ink through the fabric, making the ink look lessopaque. Adding too much reducer will also cause loss of opacity.
Recommendations and statements made are based on International Coatings’ research and experience. Since International Coatings does not have any control over the conditions of use or storage of the product sold, International Coatings cannot guarantee the results obtained through use of its products. FEATURES7041LF* Paramount Ultra Low Bleed (LB), Phthalate Free (PF) White is a low fusing, fast flashing, low tack, high pigment plastisolbased screen printing ink. 7041LF has a creamy viscosity and is very easy to print. As a result, less pressure is needed to print 7041LF through the screen.7041LF contains no bleaching agents and offers superior performance relative to other low bleed inks.
Application & Storage Information
RECOMMENDED FABRICS Cotton/polyester blends, polyester and 100% cotton. Always test print fabric for possible dye migration before beginning a production run.
INK APPLICATION 7041LF LB PF White should be used from the container without any modifications. If thinning is required, use 1% to 5% by weight 7999LF LB Curable Low Bleed Reducer. Using other reducers or additives may lower the bleed resistance and/or opacity of the ink. Adding too much reducer will cause loss of opacity.

7040 BLOCKER GRAY™
7040 Blocker Gray™, a bleed blocking phthalate-free plastisol under-base for use on 100% polyester or other textile fabrics where dye mi-gration is a severe problem. The new 7040 Blocker Gray™ was devel-oped in response to growing customer demand for an underbase ink that could help prevent dye migration during production on bleed-prone textiles.
7040 Blocker Gray’s unique chemistry makes it highly resistant to bleed, prevents fabric dye migration in almost all situations, and helps build greater opacity. When overprinted with white or colored inks, 7040 Blocker Gray™ preserves the brilliance of the whites and colors, and maximizes the details of the design.
7040 Blocker Gray™ is a high performance ink that prints easily and flashes quickly.
MODIFYING INK Modification of the 7040 LF Blocker Gray™ is not recommended as any modification to the ink may lessen the bleed resistance of this product. Always test for wash fastness before beginning a production run. SPOT FLASHING 7040 LF Blocker Gray™ will spot dry, with very low after flash-tack, in 3 to 8 seconds depending on the spot dryer used. Too much heat / time may cause the ink to become sticky after flashing. Adjust flash unit accordingly. When spot drying, the ink should be just dry to the touch, with no lift off, but not totally fused. Totally fusing the ink may cause inter-coat adhesion problems with the inks printed on top of the flashed ink. Final curing I fusing should occur in the dryer. BLEED RESISTANCE 7040LF Blocker Gray™ is formulated to give maximum bleed resistance when printing on 100% polyester or cotton/polyester blends. Blocker Gray™ should help to prevent dye migration or bleeding on most fabrics when used as directed. In testing, even the use of cotton white inks printed on top of the 7040LF Blocker Gray™, have not shown bleeding or dye migration when used on polyester fabrics. IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1. 7040 LF Blocker Gray™ is a maximum bleed resistant ink, but on some problem fabrics it may be possible for bleeding or dye migration to occur. Always test for possible dye migration before beginning a production run. Bleeding or dye migration may not occur right away. 2. Always stir the 7040LF Blocker Gray™ before using. 3. It is very important that 7040LF Blocker Gray™ is exactly registered with any white or other color that is printed on top of the Blocker Gray™ in order to help insure maximum bleed resistance of the top color. If the color printed on top of Blocker Gray™ overlaps the Blocker Gray™ in any spot, that spot may show bleeding or dye migration. 4. Use an opaque ink or heavier ink deposit on top of the Blocker Gray™ to cover the Blocker Gray™ properly. 5. t is extremely important to keep 7040 Blocker Gray™ from getting too hot in storage. SPOT FLASHING Ultra White 7031 LF will spot dry, with a very low after flash tack, in 2 to 8 seconds depending on the spot dryer used. Too much heat/time may cause the ink to become sticky after flashing. Adjust flash unit accordingly. When spot drying, the underbase ink should just be dry to the touch with no lift-off, but not totally fused. Totally fusing the underbase ink may cause inter-coat adhesion problems with the inks printed on top of the underbase. Final curing will occur in the dryer.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1. Ultra White 7031 LF is a low bleed ink, not a non-bleed ink. On some types of fabrics, bleeding or dye migration may occur.
Always test print the fabric to be printed before beginning production. It is best to do some long term testing on some fabrics to determine if they are subject to dye migration. Bleeding or dye migration may occur right away.
2. Excessive squeegee pressure will drive the Ultra White 7031 LF through the fabric being printed, making the ink look less opaque. Adjust squeegee pressure, angle and off-contact to insure proper shear and laydown of printed ink. Proper settings of squeegee, flood bar and off-contact will improve performance, improve screen life and squeegee durability.
3. Adding too much reducer or other additives to the Ultra white 7031 LF may also cause loss of opacity or other problems. 4. Ultra White 7031 LF is very easy to print when compared to other white inks and can be printed through finer mesh counts
while still maintaining great opacity. This means less ink usage and faster production times, a real money saver. Using finer mesh counts also means a softer hand on the finished product.

GEN IV Series
We are pleased to announce the much anticipated launch of our PVC-free, Phthalate-free, eco-friendly GEN IV Series inks. GEN IV series inksare unique. Unlike other eco-friendly inks, GEN IV inks are creamy andfull-bodied, and offer the coverage, opacity and performance of plastisols. GEN IV was developed to provide optimal performance on both manual and automatic printers.
GEN IV inks do not dry on the screen and cleanup is simple – all that’s needed is water. No harsh solvents or chemicals are necessary!
We have run extensive tests on GEN IV inks in our tech center. We lovethe soft hand and coverage it gives even on dark garments.
Initial GEN IV Product Line Details
In addition to being PVC-free and Phthalate-free, GEN IV does not contain any heavy metals or other harmful materials. GEN IV has been tested byindependent labs and certified as meeting Oeko-Tex standards. You can view the certificates on our website or by clicking here.
GEN IV’s initial product line consists of 19 primary colors and several spe-cialty inks. The colors can be used as stock printing colors or as color primaries in the GEN IV color matching system. The initial line of GEN IV specialty inks include a Clear Base, Puff Additive, Foil/Transfer Adhesive, and a Glitter Base. For a short video demo, visit our website at www.iccink.com.
The Tiger prints below were printed through the same screens, one using Plastisol inks, the other GEN IV Series inks and were printed the same way. Can you tell which one was printed with which inks?

What About Special Effects?
The minute our Print Applications Manager, Ed Branigan, got his hands on the GEN IV line, he immediately tested the ink on the manual as well as automatic printers. Not only did he print with the inks straight and tested the glitter and puff bases, but he also tried to come up with other techniques to showcase some special effects.
Here are just some of the results: (more to come!)

3801 LF PLASTISOL FOIL ADHESIVE
3801 LF is a clear plastisol adhesive used to produce brilliant metallic foil designs on textiles.
3801 LF adhesive can be printed directly onto the fabric. Foil is then applied to the dried adhesive.
The adhesive also can be printed directly on the foil in a way similar to print-ing a conventional transfer. Designs made with 3801LF adhesive can be applied to light or dark fabrics.3805 LF SUPER STRETCH CLEAR
This specially formulated plastisol provides exceptional stretch and is great for use on Lycra, Spandex, knitted rib, or combination stretch fabrics.
This versatile product can also be used as a stretch additive, foil adhesive, or as a clear carrier for PVC or glass beads. When added to regular plas-tisol inks, it adds a nice glossy finish.
3806 LF GEL GLOSS CLEAR
Formulated to produce a very glossy “wet” look when printed on top of other flashed plastisol inks, this unique plastisol product is not sticky or tacky after curing.
It also can be used as a caviar bead (PVC or glass) adhesive.3807 LF PHTHALATE FREE GEL GLOSS CLEAR
This product produces the same “wet” look when printed on top of other flashed plastisol inks, however it is Phthalate free.
Also adds a very glossy finish which is non-tacky or sticky after curing. This product can also be used as a clear carrier or adhesive for PVC or glass caviar beads or as a low-tack “glitter base” for a “dry look” or hand-dipped effect.
3809 LF SPECIAL FX CLEAR
This is a plastisol clear product which achieves a very high glossy finish when used as a base or overprint.
Special FX Clear works well as a high-density clear for “stacking” purposes and has minimal after-flash tack. Cures at low temperatures.

3810 BLOWOUT BASE™
International Coatings™ introduces a brand new special effects ink - 3810 BlowOut Base™. Upon curing the ink through the dryer, 3810 BlowOut Base™ will blister and bubble up to form a unique spongy and textured surface. Like International Coatings’ High Density and Special FX Clear products, 3810 BlowOut Base™ can be used as a stand-alone product or in combination with other inks (including other special effects inks) to pro-duce a wide range of new looks.
3810 BlowOut Base™ is versatile and can be printed in a variety of dif-ferent ways to create new textures and fashions. For example, longer or repeated exposure to heat will increase the height and texture of the ink surface. 3810 BlowOut Base™ can be tinted using International Coatings’ 7400 Series Color Concentrates or can be printed on top or underneath other plastisol inks. The combinations and effects are limited only by one’s imagination.
MODIFYING INK Due to its unique properties, 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ can be modified to produce many varied looks and textures. Modified BlowOut Base™ should only be used in production after thorough testing of the modified product. Always test for wash fastness before beginning a production run. SPOT FLASHING 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ will spot dry, with very low after-flash tack, in 3 to 8 seconds depending on the spot dryer used. CREATIVITY 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ allows the printer to create unique, assorted textures and looks using a variety of print techniques and ink modifications. From adding color concentrates to BlowOut Base™ or overprinting, under basing or mixing in metallic inks, the potential of BlowOut Base™ is only limited to the user’s creativity. Running the BlowOut Base™ through the dryer at higher than recommended temperatures or longer dwell times will also create a variety of different looks. IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1. 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ is not a bleed resistant ink and on some types of fabric, bleeding or dye migration may occur. Always test for possible dye migration before beginning a production run. Bleeding or dye migration may not occur right away. 2. Always stir 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ before using. 3. 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ is a semi-translucent base and should be mixed with other inks or color concentrates or over-printed with other inks to achieve more opacity on dark fabrics. Properly setting squeegee, flood bar and off-contact will improve print performance of the ink. 5. It is extremely important to keep 3810 LF BlowOut Base™ from getting too hot in storage. Temperatures above 90°F (32°C) may cause the ink to thicken to a point where the ink may be difficult to use.

3802 FOIL RESIST ADDITIVE
International Coatings™’ new 3802 Foil Resist Additive can be added to most standard plastisol inks to make them resist adhesion to foils. 3802 Foil Resist is ideal when working with foil applications using a heat transfer press. 3802 Foil Resist simplifies production for designs with foil and with areas free from any foil decoration,
3802 Foil Resist Additive allows greater control of the design and applica-tion process, is easy to mix into inks and is easy to use. Use 3802 Foil Re-sist along with International Coatings’ 3801 Foil Adhesive to create special effects and add textures to the design.
3802 Foil Resist Additive is now available through International Coatings’ exclusive world-wide network of distributor companies. Contact us at 1 (562) 926-1010 or visit our website, www.iccink.com, for more informa-tion.
Note: In the photo below, Foil was transferred onto Caviar Beads. 3802 Foil Resist was added to the other ink components to keep the foil from adhering.
MODIFYING INK Modifying 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive is not recommended. SPOT FLASHING 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive may slow down the flash times of some plastisol inks. 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive should spot dry, with very low after-flash tack, in 3 to 8 seconds depending on the spot dryer used and the ink the additive is mixed into. Too much heat / time may cause the mixed ink to become sticky after flashing. Adjust flash unit accordingly. When spot drying, the ink should be just dry to the touch, with no lift off, but not totally fused. Totally fusing the ink mixed with 3802 LF may cause some adhesion problems with the foil that is being applied. Final curing I fusing should occur in the dryer. IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1. For best foil application results, it is important to apply foil within 24 hours of printing. 2. 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive and its use should be thoroughly tested for wash fastness before beginning a pro duction run. Due to the difference in inks that the additive may be added to and the difference in the type of foils used, prior testing before beginning production is strongly recommended to help insure proper perform ance of the combined products. 3. The 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive is not a bleed resistant product and should be tested when used on fabrics where bleeding or dye migration may occur. Bleeding or dye migration may not occur right away. 4. Always stir 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive and mix thoroughly into other inks before using (maximum 10% to 15%) by weight. 5. Do not use 3802 LF Foil Resist Additive as is. The additive must be mixed into another ink before use. 6. On some fabrics, wicking to the side of the image may occur if too much 3802 LF is used in the mixed ink. Test to make sure this is not happening before and after the foil application process. 7. The addition of 3802 L F Foil Resist Additive may cause the mixed ink to crock and will make the mixed ink more prone to fibrillation on problem fabrics. Wash tests should be performed before beginning production runs.

3707 Dye Discharge Base & 3709 Discharge Activator-ZFS FEATURES: International Coatings’ 3707 Discharge Base is a clear water base binder specifically formulated to produce excellent discharge results on most reactive dyed fabrics when used with the 3709 Discharge Activator-ZFS. Use as stand alone ink or as an under base to achieve a softer hand. Anti-corrosion pigments can also be added to achieve brilliant dischargecolors. 3707 has a low viscosity allowing for ease of printability on manual and automatic equipment and cleans up with water.
RECOMMMENDED FABRICS: 3707 Discharge Base and 3709 Discharge Activator-ZFS are recommended for use on reactive dyed 100% cotton fabrics and best discharge results are obtained when using fabrics that have been specified for discharge printing applications.
APPLICATION: Prior to use, add 3% - 6% by weight of the 3709 Discharge Activator-ZFS to the 3707 Discharge Base. Pot life of mixed ink is approximately 6 to 8 hours. Corrosion resistant pigments, up to 10% by weight, can be added to achieve colors.Always stir in pigments first to the 3707 Base before adding the 3709 Discharge Activator.
SCREEN MESH & EMULSION: 86 to 110 (t/in) 34 to 43 (t/cm) monofilament. Any direct or indirect water resistant emulsion.
PRINTING: 3707 Discharge Base can be used as a stand alone product or as an under base.
SQUEEGEE: 60-70 Durometer. Sharp edge.
CURING: Cure at a minimum of 325°F to 350°F (163°C to 177°C) for 2-3 minutes to ensure optimum discharge of the dye and proper curing of the ink. High volume hot air dryers are recommended. Best discharge results are achieved when prints are runthrough the dryer immediately after printing. If the print is not completely discharged the first time through the dryer, do not stack the fabric and immediately run through the dryer again.
CLEAN UP: Water. Mixed discharge ink left over at the end of a printing job should be placed in a well sealed container and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
STORAGE: Store at 65° F to 90° F (18°C to 32°C) Avoid storage in direct sunlight and protect against extremes of temperature. Keep containers well sealed at all times.
PRINTING TIPS & PRECAUTIONS
To achieve optimum discharging, ensure that the discharge agent is completely dissolved into the binder before printing. Add corrosion resistant pigments to the 3707 discharge base before adding the 3709 Discharge Activator-ZFS. Mix only
the amount required for production. Activated ink should be used within 6 to 8 hours of adding the discharge agent. Containers should be kept tightly sealed when not in use. Test all fabrics before use, especially fabrics from different dye lots and/or colors. Not all fabrics are dischargeable. Results
may vary on fabrics from different dye lots. Consult your garment supplier or manufacturer when a variance occurs. Discharge inks must be cured at the recommended temperature. Failure to do so may result in weak discharging of fabric
dyes and poor wash fastness. Use 3% - 6% of the 3709 Discharge Activator-ZFS. The amount required will depend on the fabric used. Do not add more
than 6%. Avoid leaving inks in the screens for prolonged periods and leave screens flooded when not printing. Even water resistant
emulsions may not stand up to prolonged exposure to the discharge inks. Avoid folding and packing discharged fabrics immediately after printing.
Due to variations in fabrics, printing and drying conditions, there may be residual chemicals such as formaldehyde remaining on the printed fabrics. It is recommended that the discharged garments be washed before packaging or labeled ‘Wash before wearing’.

FFFFOIL APPLICATIONOIL APPLICATIONOIL APPLICATIONOIL APPLICATION Foil is applied colored side up and aluminum looking (dull) side down. Rub foil with eraser immediately after appli-cation to help remove any wrinkles. Allow transfer to cool completely (20 to 30 seconds) after application before removal of foil sheet. Pull foil sheet off slowly. It can be helpful to tint the 3801LF Foil Adhesive, to the color of the foil being applied, with a small amount of con-ventional plastisol. This process will help to keep small pinholes in the applied foil film from being noticeable. As example: Use a few grams of yellow or gold plastisol in the 3801LF Adhesive when using gold foil. Use a few grams of black or gray plastisol in the 3801LF Adhesive when using silver foil. APPLICATION TEMPERATURE 300°F to 325°F (149°C to 163°C). Try lower temperature first for best results. APPLICATION TIME 10-15 Seconds APPLICATION PRESSURE T-Shirts = Medium (40lbs.) Sweatshirts = Medium to Heavy (40lbs. to 60lbs) The brightest foil effect will result when the foil is first removed. To achieve a textured matte finish foil, re-seal the garment or hat in the transfer press for 3-4 seconds after the foil carrier film has been removed.
IMIMIMIMPORTANT INFORMATIONPORTANT INFORMATIONPORTANT INFORMATIONPORTANT INFORMATION For best durability of the foil after it is applied, it is recommended that the garment be hand washed or machine washed (delicate cycle) inside out and line or air dried. Do not use bleach. Do not iron printed area.

PRINTING TIPS
The more you know about your substrate, color values and transfer prod-ucts, the better your printed product will be. This is why we believe it’s important to provide as much information as possible.
International Coatings™ has been in the printing business for over 50 years, and we have a panel of experts who can help you with any screen printing questions you may have.
It is our goal to be the industry leader in our field and to provide superior quality products and service.
Following are just some of the tips we have included in this CD. These tips cover Direct Printing on Nylon Jackets, Transfer Product tips, tips for preventing Fabric Discolorations and NEW: Special Effects Printing Tech-niques.
This new section was added based on customer demand. Many of you have seen our new sample prints featuring new techniques using our spe-cial effects inks and have asked us to give you directions on how to print these. Our new Print Applications Manager, Ed Branigan, is going to keep adding new techniques to be posted on our website Spring 2008. Please keep checking back to our website at www.iccink.com to see any new items.
Most recently, we have included Ed’s published article: The Screen Print-er’s Secret Weapon, featuring his Patina Effect how-to. We have included a copy below. Included are also some of our most popular FAQs. For more FAQ and specific printing tips, please visit our website at www.iccink.com to go to our “How-To” section.
We also feature an “Ask the Expert” section on our website, whereby you can e-mail us with more specific questions if you cannot find the informa-tion listed on our How-To portion. One of our experts will then get back to you as soon as possible.

This simple technique using our High Density Dimensional ink was dem-onstrated by printing guru Charlie Taublieb at FESPA 2007 in our booth.
He simply used a wallpaper brush instead of a squeegee to get this stri-ated effect. Very simple and very effective. Try tone-on-tone or contrast-ing colors.
Here is another simple technique that Charlie showcased at FESPA 2007, simply using our 3808 Bead Adhesive and some caviar beads.
Get a great look by using this simple technique!
113
Ed Branigan came up with this special effects look. For this particular design, only one screen was used.
• Apply IC’s 3809 FX Clear using 110 mesh screen and 200 micron capillary film.
• Add caviar beads by hand while the adhesive is wet.
• Cure at 330° F for 1 minute.
• Apply silver foil on top of the caviar beads and quickly (1 second) ap-ply the foil with a heat transfer machine. Hot peel the foil and voila!
Here are the settings used on the heat transfer machine: 350 degrees F, 10 psi for 1 second
For this particular design, you will need 3 screens as follows:
1st screen• Use a mixture of 90% 3810 BlowOut™ Base and 10% Black Color Con-centrate (you can use other colors, of course) on a 25 mesh screen
• Flash the ink (10 seconds)
2nd screen • Print your design again using the mixture of 90% 3810 BlowOut™ Base and10%Black CC, using the 25mesh screen
• Flash (10 seconds)
3rd screen • On the third screen, use a mixture of 90% 3811 Granite Base™ and 10%Black CC on a 40 mesh screen
• Cure @ 380 degrees for 2 minutes and voila, you’ve got an amazing textured design.
